
Shopping Cart Infant Docking Station Safety Inspection
Inspecting your Safe-Dock shopping cart infant docking stations are necessary to keep them in proper
working order. To assist in your Safety Inspection Program, please use the following Safety Inspection
Checklist for shopping cart infant docking stations.
The Safe-Dock should be inspected frequently on a daily basis to identify problems. Have staff famil-
iarize themselves with the Safe-Dock and what to inspect daily.
Shell:
1. Warning label is present and fully legible.
Harness and Webbing:
1. No sign of visible fraying
2. Free of rips and tears
3. Free of excessive wear
4. All stitching visibly intact
5. No loose or pulled threads
Buckles:
1. No sign of visible wear
2. No cracks, breaks, or missing halves/parts
3. Buckle functions properly when buckled and released (fasten the buckle, and pull the mating
ends of the belt - if buckle unfastens, replace the belt - if buckle can’t be unbuckled, replace
the belt)
Frame:
1. Frame is anchored securely to the shopping cart with all 4 nuts fastened tightly.
2. There are no cracks or protruding areas on the units that may cause injury.
Over-all Appearance:
1. No signs of excessive wear, fading, stains, or damage.
2. Clean inviting appearance.
Care and Maintenance Information:
1. Clean unit as often as needed using a mild soap or detergent.
2. Make sure all cleaning agents have been completely removed from the unit prior to putting it
back into service.
3. Parts such as the safety harnesses can be replaced easily. Other repairs may require a higher
level of mechanical expertise.

A SAFE-DOCK that fails any of these inspection checks or is not installed consistent with
SAFE-STRAP Company, Inc.’s Shopping Cart Infant Docking Station Instructions should be
replaced.
