BEFORE FIRST USE - TIME STAMP
You will need to save and UNZIP the time le. If you are unable to UNZIP then we recommend
you download the two les from TECH SUPPORT. e reason we give both options is that some
computers wont download the les directly and hence we zip them to make it easier to download
and use them. ese les are needed to set the time and date stamp on your Sherlock voice
recorder.
1. Make sure your recorder is in OFF position then PLUG it into your USB port on your
computer. Please connect DIRECTLY to your computers USB port. (not via a hub)

window pop up. Click OPEN to open the les that are con-
tained in this le.

5. Aer pressing extract, you will
notice that the les will be saved and
extracted onto the root section of your
SHERLOCK recorder
6. Double click SetUDISK-
Time(9X).exe. Your time will be
updated. You should see a SUCCESS
notication.
Great job! You have now updated the
time on your device.

IMPORTANT
Before you close out and unplg your device, we recommend that you delete the two sample mu-
sic les. is will avoid confusion when you plug in your headphones to play back.
ese les are named:
1. e day you went away.mp3
2. 03-take me to your heart
Right click and select DELETE for each.
NOW, you may close out all windows and unplug your unit to test to make sure the time stamp
is working.
NOTE: If you prefer to use this unit as an MP3 player later on, you can just upload your own
songs so that as soon as you plug in your headphones, it will start playing the songs (or les) in
sequence.
Aer saving the two les, ouble click
SetUDISKTime(9X).exe. Your time
will be updated. You should see a
SUCCESS notication.
Great job! You have now updated the
time on your device.

e SHERLOCK voice activated voice recorder is simple to use. It automatically begins
recording in voice activated mode up to 48 hours on a full charge.
1. Charge unit for about 4 hours to get a full complete charge
2. Turn switch to ON positon and place where you want and let it record.
3. When done recording TURN SWITCH TO OFF before plugging to your computer or before
plugging headphones to listen. Turning it o ensures that recorded le is SAVED.

Optional Accessory:
If you bought the optional mini playback speaker, please read this page. If not proceed to next
page.
Ensure there is ‘AAA’ battery
Before plugging in to recorder, do the following:
1. Turn power on speaker to ON
2. Make sure Sherlock recorder is in OFF position
3. Plug in speaker to Sherlock recorder
4. Turn Sherlock recorder to ON positon
5. Files on your recorder should start plaing back in a few seconds
6. Adjust volume to your comfort level
7. When done TURN OFF VOICE RECORDER BEFORE unplugging speaker.
NOTE: While a headphone or speaker is plugged in, e Sherlock voice recorder will not
record!

PLAYING BACK RECORDINGS
As mentioned earlier TURN UNIT OFF BEFORE PLUGGING TO YOUR COM-
PUTER OR BEFORE PLUGGING YOUR HEADPHONES.
ere are two ways to play back your recordings:
HEADPHONES (or the optional speaker mentioned on previous
page):
1. Make sure voice recorder is in OFF position
2. Plug in included headphones
3. Turn switch to ON position
4. You should start hearing the rst le play as soon you turn to ON
5. Please note that the les will be played sequentially. You will not be able to skip
to a dierent le or fast forward. is feature is possible if you listen via your
computer
COMPUTER:
1. Make sure device is in OFF position/
2. Plug to computer USB port
3. Open pop up folder and then open RECORD folder to view recorded les
4. Notice that les are saved as TIME STAMP (when the recording began)
5. Double click the le you wish to listen to
