• HDD
◦BLINKS – When there is Reading and Writing Activity.
◦SOLID – When there is HDD fault active.
• ACC
◦SOLID – Powers on when the ignition is turned on.
• UPS
◦SOLID – Powers on when the main power is lost, and
the NVR is powered by internal backup power supply.
• WWAN
◦SOLID – Will remain o by default. Only turns on
when a cellular modem is installed within the NVR.

1 LCD Display
Displays the NVR’s name, date/time, alerts, and statuses.
2 ESC Button
Press the ESC button to cancel the current command and return to the display.
3 Navigation Keys
Use the left, right, up, and down keys to navigate menus or move the cursor. Press the center key to display the Main Menu/
enter a command.
4 Event Button
Press the Event button to manually trigger an event.
5 Error Status LED
Displays solid RED when an error has occurred, such as a disconnected camera. The LED remains red until the error is
corrected. Displays solid GREEN when no errors are present.
6 Event Status LED
Displays solid RED when an event is recording. The LED remains red until recording is finished. Displays solid GREEN when no
events are occurring.
7 Ooading Status LED
Displays solid RED when recorded data is being offloaded.
See ‘LCD Control Panel Operation’ for more details.

Secure the RoadRecorder 9000 NVR to the mounting surface using the appropriate fasteners.
Ensure that the front panel of the NVR remains accessible, and that there is a minimum 2.5 inches of clearance for cables.
Do not install the NVR in an area of the vehicle cabin that could interfere with the safe operation of the vehicle.
Flat Mount Installation

To remove the hard drive from the NVR
1. Ensure the NVR is powered OFF.
2. Insert the key into the hard drive lock and turn it counterclockwise.
3. Turn the two hard drive thumb screws counterclockwise until they are loose.
4. Pull the hard drive rmly and straight out.
To reinsert the hard drive into the NVR
1. Push the hard drive rmly all the way into the NVR.
2. Turn the two hard drive thumb screws clockwise until they are secure.
Do not over-tighten the thumb screws. Use finger pressure only!
3. Insert the key into the hard drive lock and turn it clockwise.

Main Menu
Press the center navigation key to display the Main Menu.
There are four options available: System Details, System Logs,
Manual Offload, Remove SSD, and Help.
Use the arrow navigation keys to navigate through the menus.
Press the center navigation key to conrm or enter a
command.
Use the ESC button to exit a menu or to cancel a command.
System Details
Firmware Version is the only available option.
• Firmware Version: Select Firmware Version to display
the rmware version currently installed on the NVR. This
information may be useful when speaking with Safety
Vision Technical Support.
System Logs
Event Logs and Error Logs are the available options.
NOTE: System Logs are stored in the LCD Control Panel’s internal
memory. Disconnecting the LCD Control Panel from the NVR will
result in the loss of data. (This data is still recorded by the NVR but
can no longer be displayed on the LCD).
• Event Logs: Select Event Logs to display the most recent
recorded event timestamps. Use the up and down
navigation keys to scroll through the list of events.
• Error Logs: Select Error Logs to display the most recent
errors that have occurred. The nature of the error and
the time it occurred are displayed. Use the up and down
navigation keys to scroll through the list of errors.
Manual Ooad
Select the Manual Ooad option to manually ooad recorded
video to a USB ash drive inserted into the NVR.
Press the center navigation key to select ‘To USB’. Enter the
required password using the navigation keys.
Select either Event to ooad event recorded les, or
Continuous to ooad continuously recorded les.
Remove SSD
Select the Remove SSD option to remove the hard drive.
Enter the required password using the navigation keys.
Wait for the “Insert Storage Media” prompt to appear BEFORE
removing the hard drive.
Help
Select the Help option to display a help message regarding
manual ooads.

PART 2: CONFIGURATION
The RoadRecorder 9000 NVR can be congured through the on-board web interface, which must be accessed with a
PC and web browser.
Connecting to the NVR
Use the following procedure to access the web-based configuration menus using the default IP address:
1. Connect the PC to the NVR’s Ethernet LAN 1 RJ-45 port with a standard Ethernet cable.
Ensure the NVR and PC are receiving power and have started up.
2. Open the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) Properties window for
the LAN connection you are using.
In Windows, open Network Connections. Right-click the LAN
connection and select Properties. In the list of items, select
Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and click Properties.
3. Select the “Use the following IP address:” option.
4. Enter 182.168.1.80 in the IP address eld.
5. Enter 255.255.0.0 in the Subnet mask eld.
This field normally defaults to 255.255.255.0. Ensure the correct
255.255.0.0 subnet is entered.
Leave all other elds blank.
6. Click OK on the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) Properties window
and then click OK on the Local Area Connection Properties
window.
Your PC’s IP address and subnet mask are now congured.
7. Open a web browser (Internet Explorer or Google Chrome
preferred) and navigate to 182.168.1.200.
The Login screen appears.
8. Enter the username and password, then
click Login.
The configuration web interface launches.
The default username and password are
admin. If this has been changed, contact
your system administrator for your login
information.

Help Windows
Each screen of the RoadRecorder 9000
NVR conguration web interface includes
a comprehensive help menu. The help
menus explain the functionality and
parameters of each eld.
To access the help menu for a screen,
simply click the Help button at the
top right of the screen. The help menu
appears in a new window.
Product Details
Select the Information icon on the top left-hand corner to
view the Product Details page.
The Product Details page displays factory congured
identication elds, as well as the status of the removable hard
drive (primary), and secondary storage (if present).
• Product name: Name of the NVR.
• MAC1 address: MAC address of the device interface of the
NVR.
• MAC2 address: MAC address of the wireless radio interface of
the NVR.
Primary Storage Information
• State: If Primary Storage is present and working then it shows
“Online” state, otherwise it shows “Oine” state.
• Drive Size: Total size of Primary Storage drive in GB if present in the NVR
• Drive Used: Total amount of Primary Storage drive used in percentage (%) if present in the NVR
Secondary Storage Information
• State: If any Secondary Storage source is present and working then it shows “Online” state, otherwise it shows “Oine” state.
• Drive Size: Total size of Secondary Storage drive in GB if present in the NVR
• Drive Used: Total amount of Secondary Storage drive used in percentage (%) if present in the NVR.

Reboot
Click the Reboot Now button to immediately reboot the NVR
and apply any saved changes.
Changed configurations are not applied to the NVR until after it is
rebooted.
MNVR Configuration
Users can import and export conguration les from this
section. A conguration le saves all the NVR’s conguration
settings, which can then be duplicated across multiple NVRs.
• Export: To save a conguration le, conrm all
conguration settings are set appropriately, then click the
Export button. The web browser prompt appears.
Select Save File in the web browser prompt, then click OK.
The conguration le is automatically saved in the PC’s
Downloads folder.
The configuration file is saved in the following format:
RR9000_[Serial number]_MM-DD-YYYY.xml
• Import: To import a saved conguration le, click the
Browse… button.
Navigate to where the appropriate le is saved and click
Open.
Conrm the appropriate le is displayed and click Import.
The conguration le is uploaded automatically.
Conguration les are interchangeable between NVRs,
however unique elds such as the vehicle name and
network information should be updated for each
individual NVR.
Changed configurations are not applied to the NVR until after
it is rebooted.
Click the Reboot Now button to immediately reboot the
NVR and apply any saved changes.
NVR Firmware Update
To update the NVR’s rmware, click the Download NVR
Firmware from Safety Vision link to be directed to Safety
Vision’s FTP site.
PC must have internet access
Enter the following username and password to access Safety
Vision’s FTP site:
Username: SVRR
Password: SVRR6100
Note: Username and password are case sensitive.

Select the Admin tab from the top, then click Firmware / Config.
The Firmware / Config page allows you to reboot the NVR, import / export configuration files, update firmware, as well as restore
factory settings.

Navigate to and select the correct NVR firmware package to download. The web browser prompt appears.
Select Save File in the web browser prompt, then click OK. The rmware le is automatically saved in the PC’s Downloads folder.
Click the Browse… button and navigate to where the rmware le (.tgz file) is saved, then click Open.
Conrm the appropriate le is displayed, then click Upload File. A status bar appears as the rmware update is automatically
applied.
The NVR will immediately reboot on its own after rmware update.
Camera Firmware Update
Select the Camera Firmware Update option to update camera(s)
rmware through the NVR. This feature is only available for Gen 2,
Gen 3 and AXIS cameras.
Click the Browse… button. A navigation prompt appears.
Navigate to the location of the new rmware le, then click Open.
Conrm the appropriate le is displayed, then click Upload File. A status bar appears as the rmware le is uploaded.
Once the rmware le is uploaded successfully, select the appropriate camera(s) to which rmware will be applied, then click the
Update button.
Camera(s) will reboot automatically after rmware update.
Restore Factory Default
Select the Restore NVR Factory Default button to automatically restore all conguration options to their factory default settings
and immediately reboot the NVR.
WARNING: Selecting this option immediately changes any previously changed settings to the factory default.

Primary Storage
• Primary Storage Media Device: Select “Removable SSD”
as the primary storage device.
• Primary Storage Media Setup: Single Partition is selected
by default
• Delete file option for primary storage: Select the option
for when the primary storage device begins to overwrite:
◦Overwrite When Full: Once the primary storage
device reaches capacity, new recordings will begin to
overwrite the oldest data.
◦Overwrite Max Time: This option deletes les with
timestamps older than the specied time. Enter the
amount of time in hour(s) in the “Delete les older
than” eld. The timestamps of all les will be regularly
checked at an interval of 1 hour.
◦No Overwrite (Stop When Full): Select this option to
prevent the primary storage device from overwriting.
Recording will be stopped once the primary storage
device reaches capacity.
Secondary Storage
• Enable Safestor+: Select this option to enable Safestor
Plus. In case of Primary storage media failure, Firmware
will check if secondary storage is present in the NVR. If
secondary storage is present, then recording will be done
on secondary storage.
• Secondary Storage Media: This eld is auto populated
• Delete file option for secondary storage: Select the
option for when the secondary storage device begins to
overwrite:
◦Overwrite When Full: Once the secondary storage
device reaches capacity, new recordings will begin to
overwrite the oldest data
◦Overwrite Max Time: This option deletes les with
timestamps older than the specied time. Enter the
amount of time in hour(s) in the “Delete les older
than” eld. The timestamps of all les will be regularly
checked at an interval of 1 hour.
◦No Overwrite (Stop When Full): Select this option
to prevent the secondary storage device from
overwriting. Recording will be stopped once
secondary storage device reaches capacity.
Click Save Changes to save changed entries.
Format
Select a device, then click the Format button. The NVR
automatically reboots after formatting the device.
WARNING: Formatting a device erases all data, including
recorded video. Use with caution.
Storage
Select the Admin tab from the top, then click Storage.
The Storage page allows you to congure the storage device(s) of the NVR.

Network Settings
Select the Admin tab from the top, then click Network.
The Network Settings page congures the network interfaces and features.
MNVR Detail
• MNVR Name: Enter the name of the NVR
Restrictions: Only alphanumeric characters are allowed
with a maximum length of 15 characters. Names with “_”
(underscore) are also accepted. No other special characters
can be used for NVR name.
• Serial number: Enter the Serial Number of the MNVR.
LAN 2 Network Interface
• IP address: Default IP address for LAN 2.
• Netmask: Default Subnet mask for LAN 2.
• Gateway: Default Gateway IP address for LAN 2.
Mail Server
If enabled, mail will be sent when an event is triggered.
If disabled, mail will not be sent on event.
• Server IP address: Enter the Mail Server IP address, which
will be used to send e-mails when an event is triggered
from the NVR
• Username: Enter the username which will be used to log
in to the Mail Server.
• Password: Enter the password which will be used to log in
to the Mail Server.
• Port Number: Contact your IT administrator for Mail
Server Port Number.
• Mail to: Enter the email address to which all emails will be
sent to when an event is triggered from the NVR.
• Mail from: Enter the email address from which all emails
will be sent from when an event is triggered from the NVR.

Wifi Profile
Select the number of profiles, between 1 to 5, from the
dropdown menu that the NVR will connect to and enter the
following for each:
• SSID: Click on the desired Wi SSID from the scan results
to auto populate the SSID for the Wi prole.
• Username Required: Select this option if a username is
required to connect to the congured wi prole.
• Security Type: Select the security type from the
dropdown menu
• Password: Enter the password if required for the wi
prole.
• Show Password: Select this option to display the
password.
• Static: Select this option to congure a Static IP address.
• Static IP Address: Enter the Static IP address.
• Netmask: Enter the Subnet Mask.
• Gateway: Enter the Gateway IP address.
• Delete: Select this option to clear all elds for the selected
wi prole.
Click Save Changes to save wi conguration.
Click on the ‘x’ icon located on the top right-hand corner of the
screen to exit the Wi Conguration window and return to the
Network Settings page.
• Wifi SSID: Displays the wi prole the NVR is
connected to.
• Wifi IP address: Displays the wi prole IP address the
NVR is connected to.

Wifi Interface
Select this option to enable the NVR’s internal WLAN.
Click on View Wifi Configuration to launch the Wi Conguration window. (See Wifi Configuration section below)
Wifi Configuration
The Wi conguration window congures which Access Points the NVR will connect to.
Available Wireless Profiles: Click the Scan button, then click OK to perform a site survey of all Access Points available. All
available Access Points will be displayed.

POE 8 Network Interface
Select this option to enable PoE 8 as a separate network
interface
• IP Address: Default IP address for PoE 8.
• Netmask: Default Subnet mask for PoE 8.
• Gateway: Default Gateway IP address for PoE 8.
LiveTrax
Select this option to enable LiveTrax. This option must be
enabled and congured in order to communicate with the
LiveTrax server. LiveTrax account required.
• Server IP address: Enter the IP address for the LiveTrax
server (64.251.197.19)
• Send Port: Default Send Port for the LiveTrax server
• Receive Port: Default Receiver Port for the LiveTrax server.
• Gateway: Gateway IP address only required if using
LiveTrax as the default gateway.
• Netmask: Subnet mask only required if using LiveTrax as
the default gateway.
SafetyNet Server Announce
Select this option to enable the SafetyNet Server Announce
feature. When enabled, NVR will ping the congured server
below.
• Server IP address: Enter the IP address for the server
hosting the SafetyNet software.
• Server Port: Default server port.
• Gateway: Gateway IP address only required if using
SafetyNet Server Announce as the default gateway.
• Netmask: Subnet mask only required if using SafetyNet
Server Announce as the default gateway.
• Announce IP address: Enter the IP address that will be
used to communicate with the SafetyNet software.
oMG Server
Select this option to enable communication with an oMG
Server.
• Server IP address: Default oMG Server IP address.
• Server Port: Default server port for oMG Server.
Default Routing: Option to congure a default gateway. LAN 2
is selected by default.
Web Port: Default Web Port is 80.
Click Save Changes to save changed entries.
