ARCHITECT’S & ENGINEER’S
SPECIFICATION
The mixer amplifier shall incorporate a 300 watts mono-
phonic amplifier, a 10-band graphic equalizer and a mono-
phonic mixer with 8 microphone/line- input channels.
Microphone inputs shall be on XLR-type connectors and line
inputs shall be on balanced 1/4″Tip-Ring-Sleeve phone con-
nectors. An independent line-level CD/tape input (routed to
channel 8) shall be on phono connectors. Each channel shall
have a trim control, an effects send, a monitor send, 4-band
equalization, a peak-level indicator (5 dB before clipping) and
a level control.
The mixer shall provide main, monitor and effects outputs
on 1/4″phone connectors, as well as a preamp out and power
amp in for submix applications on 1/4″phone connectors.
Four effects returns shall be provided on 1/4″phone connec-
tors, and each shall have an independent level control.
Phantom power of +48 volts shall be provided for operation of
condenser microphones. The amplifier shall be passively
cooled. Amplifier output shall be provided on two 1/4″phone
connectors. Indicators shall be provided for output-signal level,
power, +48 volts and amplifier protection. The unit shall be of
a rack-mount type.
The amplifier shall deliver maximum power equal to or
greater than 300 watts into 4 ohm, signal-to-noise equal to or
greater than 105 dB, THD less than 0.0045% and frequency
response of ±1 dB from 10 Hz to 28 kHz. The mixer shall have
residual noise of -110 dB, signal-to-noise equal to or greater
than 78 dB and THD less than 0.045%. Total power consumed at
full audio power shall be 544 W (115 Vac) and 594 watts
(230/240 VAC). Dimensions shall be 17.75″(451 mm) wide,
4.92″(125 mm) deep and 11.02″(280 mm; 4 rack spaces)
high. Weight shall be 31 lb. (14.1 kg). The mixer amplifier
shall carry a three-year warranty.
The mixer amplifier shall be a SAMSON S83.
