Internet security
Samsung takes anumber of steps to protectits Internet-compatibleSmart TVs against unauthorized incursions and
hacking. For example, certain sensitivecommunications between the TV and theInternet servers are encrypted. In
addition, the TV's operating system has adopted controlsto preventthe installation ofunauthorized applications.
Although we take steps to protectyourSmart TV and personal information, no Internet-connected device or
transmission is completely secure . We therefore encourage you totakeadditional steps to safeguard your TV, secure
yourInternetconnection, and minimizethe risk ofunauthorized access. These steps are listed below:
• When Samsung releases software updates toimprove thesecurity of your TV , you should promptlyinstall these
updates . To automatically receive these updates,turn on Auto Update in the TV's menu (8>®Settings>
Support> Software Update> Auto Update) . When an update is available, a popup message appears on the TV
screen . Accept thesoftware download and update by selecting YES when prompted. Take steps to secure your
wireless access point and network. Your access po int's manual should provide add itional detailsabout howto
implementthefollowi ng measures:
- Secure yourwireless access point's managementsettingswith aunique password to prevent unauthorized
changes tosecurity related setti ngs.
-Implement standard encryption (e.g. , WPA2 encryption) on yourwireless access pointto secure yourwireless
networksignal.
- Secure access toyourwireless networkwith ahard-to- guess password .
-Confirmyoura cc ess point'sfirewallsetting is enabled (if so equipped).
- Mak es ure thatallyourInternet- connected devices are behind yournetwork'sfirewall.

• Use strong passwords forallyourInternet accounts (Netflix, Facebook , etc.) .Ifyour TV has a camera , reces sthe
camera intothe TV's bezel when it is not in use . Recessing the camera makes it inoperative.

01 TV Installation
Mounting the TV on a wall
•
If you mountthis TV on awall, followthe instructions exactly as set out by the manufacturer. Unless it is
correctly mounted, the TV may slide orfall and cause serious injuryto achild oradult and serious damage
tothe TV.
For models providing wall mount adapters, installthem as shown in thefigure below before installing the wall mount
kit.
• Referto the installation manual included with the Samsung wall mount kit.

• You can installyourwall mount on a solid wall perpendiculartothe floor. Before attaching thewall mountto

ceiling or slanted wall, it may fall and result in severe personal injury.
• When installing awall mount kit, we recommend you fasten all fourVESA screws.
• If you wantto install awall mount kitthat attaches tothe wall using two top screws only, be sure to use a Samsung
wall mount kitthat supports thistype ofinstallation. {You may not be able to purchase thistype ofwall mount kit,
depending on the geographical region.)
• Standard dimensions forwall mount kits are shown in the table below.
• If you are installing athird-partywall mount, note thatthe length ofthe screws you can use to attach the TV to the

• Do not mountthe TV atmore than a 75 degree tilt.
• Always have twopeople mountthe TV onto awall.
- For 82 inch orlargermodels, have fourpeople mountthe TV onto awall.
Providing properventilation foryourTV
When you installyour TV, maintain adistance ofatleast4 inches between the TV with otherobjects (walls, cab inet
sides, etc.) to ensure properventilation. Failing to maintain properventilation may result in afire oraproblem with the
product caused by an increase in its internaltemperature.
When you installyour TV with astand orawall mount, we stronglyrecommend you use parts provided by Samsung
Electronicsonly. Using parts provided by anothermanufacturer may cause difficultieswith the productorresult in
injury caused by the productfalling.

Safety Precaution: Securing the TV to the wall to prevent falling
Caution: Pulling, pushing, orclimbing on the TV may cause the TV tofall. In particular, ensure
yourchildren do not hang on ordestabilizethe TV . This action may cause the TV totip over,
causing serious injuries ordeath.Followallsafety precautions provided in the Safety Flyer
included withyour TV. For added stability and safety, you can purchase and installthe anti-fall
device as described below.
WARNING : Never place atelevision set in an unstable location. The telev isi on set may fall, causing serious
personal injuryordeath. Many injuries, particularlytochildren, can be avoided by taking simple precaut ion s
such as
• Using cabinets or stands recommended by themanufacturerofthe televis io n set.
• Only using furniturethat can safelysupportthetelevision set.
• Ensuring thetelevision set is notoverhanging the edge ofthe supporti ng furniture.
• Notplacing thetelevision set on tallfurniture (for example, cupboards or bookcases) withoutanchoring
both thefurniture and thetelevision settoasuitable support.
• Notplacing thetelevision set on cloth orothermaterials that may be located betweenthetelevision set
and supporting furniture.
• Edu cati ng children aboutthedangers ofclimbing on furnitureto reach thetelevision set oritscontrols.
If you are retaining and relocating thetelevision setthat you are replacing withthis new set, you should
applythe same precautionstothe old set.
• When you have to relocate or lift the TV forreplacement orcleaning, be sure notto pulloutthe stand.
Preventing the TV from falling
1. Using theappropriate screws, firmlyfasten aset ofbrackets tothewall.
Confirmthatthe screws are firmlyattached tothewall.
- You may need additional material such as wall anchors depending on
thetype ofwall.
2. Using theappropriately sized screws, firmlyfasten a set ofbrackets tothe
TV.
- For the screw specifications, referto "Standar d Screw" in thetable on
page 7.
3. Connect the brackets fixed tothe TV and the bracketsfixed tothewall
with adurable, heavy -dutystring, and thentiethestring tightly.

- Connect thestring so thatthe brackets fixed to thewall are atthe

Pairing the TV to the Samsung Smart Remote
When you turn on the TV forthe first time, the Samsung Smart Remote pairs to the TV
automatically. Ifthe Samsung Smart Remote does not pair tothe TV automatically,
point it atthe remote control sensor ofthe TV, and then press and hold the buttons
labeled. and. as shown in thefigure on the leftsimultaneouslyfor3 seconds or
more.

To installthe batteries, push the rear cover open in the direction ofthe arrowatthe bottom ofthe illustration, and
then insertthe batteries as shown in the figure. Make sure thatthe positive and negative ends are facing in the correct
direction. Close the rear cover as shown.
• Alkaline batteries are recommended forlongerbatterylife.

03 Initial Setup
When you turn on your TV forthefirsttime, it immediatelystartsthe Initial Setup .Followthe instructi ons displayed on
the screen and configurethe TV's basic settingsto suityourviewing environment.
• To perform initialization using the SmartThings app, you must connect your mob i le device via Wi-Fi.
• Ifthepop-up for setup does not appear automatically on the SmartThings app on yourmobile device, continue
setup manuallyafter adding the TV using Add Device on the dashboard ofthe SmartThings app .
• The Smart Things app is availableformobile devices running Android 6.0 orhigheror iOS 10 orhigher.
• Noise may occurtemporarily when the TV communicates with mobile devices.
Using the TV Controller
You can turn on the TV withthe TV Controllerbutton atthebottom ofthe TV, and then use theControl menu. The
Control menu appears when the TV Controller button is pressed whilethe TV is On. For more informationabout its
usage, refertothefigure below.
• The screen may dim if the protectivefilm on the SAMSUNG logo orthe bottom ofthe TV is not detached . Please
remove the protectivefilm.

Troubleshooting
Ifthe TV seems to have aproblem,first reviewthis listof possible problems and solutions.Alternatively, reviewthe
Troubleshooting Section in thee-Manual. If none ofthetroubleshooting tips apply, please visit"www. samsung.com"
and clickSupport orcontactthe callcenterlisted on the back cover ofthis manual.
• For detailed information on troubleshooti ng, watch thetroubleshooting videos atwww. samsung . com / spsn.
• This TFT LED panel is made up of sub pixelswhich require sophisticated technologyto produce . The remay be ,
however, afew brightordark pixels on the screen. These pixels will have no impact on the performance ofthe
product.
• To keep your TV in optimum conditi on, upgrade tothe latestsoftware. Use the Update Now orAuto Update
functions on the TV's menu (ta,>® Settings>Support> Software Update> Update Now orAuto Update).
The TV won'tturn on.
• Make sure thatthe AC power cord is securelyplugged in to the TV and thewall outlet.
• Make sure thatthewall outlet is working a nd the powerindicatoratthe bottom ofthe TV is lit and glowing asolid
red .
• Try pressing the Power(@ )button atthe bottom ofthe TV to make sure thatthe problem is notwi th the remote
control. If the TV turns on, referto" Remote control does notwork" below.
There is no picture/video/sound, oradistorted picture/video/soundfrom an external device, or
"Weak or No Signal" is displayed on the TV, oryou cannotfind a channel.
• Make sure theconnection tothe device iscorrect and thatall cables are fullyinserted.
• Remove and re c onn ectall cables conne cted tothe TV and the external devices. Try new cab l es if possible.
• Confirm thatthe correct input source has been selected (ta,>~ Source).
• Perform a TV self diagnosis todetermine if theproblem is caused by the TV orthe devi ce (ta, >®Settings>
Support> Self Diagnosis> StartPicture Test orStart Sound Test).
• Ifthetest re s ult s are normal, rebootthe connected devices by unplugging each device 'spower cord and then
pluggi ng it in again. Ifthe is suepersists,refertothe conn ection guide in the user manual ofthe conne cted devi ce .
• If you are not using a ca ble box orsatellite box , and your TV is receiv i ng TV signalsfrom an antenna ora cable wall
connector, run Auto Program to s earch forchannels (ta, >® Settings > Broadcasting > Auto Program).
The remote control does not work.

The TV settings are lost after5 minutes.
• The TV is in the Retail Mode. Change the Usage Mode in the System Manager Menu to Home Mode(.>®
Settings> General> System Manager> Usage Mode > Home Mode).

• Make sure the TV has anetwork connection(.>® Settings> General> Network> Network Status).
• Make sure the Wi-Fi password is entered correctly.
• Check the distance between the TV and the modem or access point. The distance should not exceed 50 ft (15.2 m).
• Reduce interference by not using orturning off wireless devices. Also, verifythatthere are no obstacles between
the TV and the modem or access point. (The Wi-Fi strength can be decreased by appliances, cordless phones, stone
walls/fireplaces, etc.)

• Contact yourInternet Service Provider (ISP) and ask them to reset yournetwork circuit to re-registerthe Mac

• Change the DNS to 8.8.8.8. Select.>® Settings> General> Network> Network Status > IP Settings> DNS
Setting > Enter manually> DNS Server> enter 8.8.8.8 > OK.
• Reset by selecting.>® Settings> Support> Self Diagnosis> Reset Smart Hub.

Samsung Remote Support service offers you one-on-one supportwith a Samsung Technician who can remotely:
• Diagnose your TV
• Adjustthe TV settingsfor you
• Perform afactory reset on your TV
• Install recommended firmware updates
How does Remote Support work?
You can easily get Samsung Remote Support service foryourTV.
1. Call the Samsung Contact Center and ask for remote support.
2. Open the menu on your TV, and then go tothe Support section.(.>® Settings> Support)
3. Select Remote Management, then read and agree tothe service agreements. When the PIN screen appears,
provide the PIN numberto the technician.
4. The technician willthen access your TV.

• The eco sensor is located atthebottom of the TV. Do notblockthe sensor with any object. This can decrease picture
brightness.
Caring for the TV
• Ifasticker was attached tothe TV screen, some debris can remain
after you remove the sticker. Please clean the debris off before
watching TV.
• The exterior and screen ofthe TV can get scratched during cleaning.
Be sure towipe the exterior and screen carefully using asoftcloth to
prevent scratches.
• Do not spray wateror any liquid directlyontothe TV. Any liquidthat
goes intothe product may cause afailure, fire, orelectric shock.
• To clean the screen, turn offthe TV, then gentlywipe away smudges
and fingerprints on the panel with amicro-fibercloth. Clean the
body orpanelofthe TV with amicro-fibercloth dampened with a
small amountof water. Afterthat, remove the moisturewith adry
cloth. While cleaning, do notapplystrongforce tothe surface ofthe
panel because it can damage the panel. Never use flammable liquids
(benzene, thinner, etc.) oracleaning agent. For stubborn smudges,
spray asmallamountof screen cleaner on amicro-fibercloth, and
then use theclothtowipe away the smudges.

Warranty service can only be performed by a SAMSUNG authorized service center. The original dated billof sale must
be presented upon request as proof of purchase to SAMSUNG orSAMSUNG's authorized service center.
SAMSUNG will repair or replace this product, atouroption and at no charge as stipulated herein, with new or
reconditioned parts or products if found to be defective during the limited warranty period specified above. All replaced
parts and products become the propertyof SAMSUNG and must be returned to SAMSUNG. Replacement parts and
products assume the remaining original warranty, or ninety (90) days, whichever is longer.
