The Samsung HC-R5245W projection
HDTV with integrated tuner is
designed for those who are looking
to transform a moderate-sized room into a
home theater at an affordable price. Its 52
inch widescreen viewing area is set in a
smart-looking, compact flat screen design,
making it the perfect choice for big screen.
Whether it’s DVDs, sports or movies, the
HC-R5245W delivers outstanding widescreen
performance. At the heart of the set,
Samsung’s RealFlect™ video system drives
high contrast, robust colors and inviting detail.
Samsung’s Auto Self Focus™ auto-
convergence system corrects picture focus
at a push of a button. The 30-watt stereo
audio system delivers ample sound for
sports and movies.
TV/VIDEO FEATURES
Widescreen Aspect Ratio is the ideal screen
format for viewing widescreen video from DVD
players and the growing availability of broadcast
programming off digital HDTV tuners, cable boxes
and satellite receivers.
Built-In HD/Digital Tuner (ATSC/NTSC) ensures
that you are ready for digital television signals right
away. This means this advanced TV meets the 2005
FCC guidelines for tuning the new digital TV services.
Samsung RealFlect System™ Pro incorporates
an overall video engine enhancement for improved
high definition picture quality. Samsung HDTV
sets feature new brighter 7” high resolution CRT
displays. HD Fine Focus™ CRT lenses, a high
performance HD Fine Pitch lenticular screen, for
high brightness and image clarity.
HD Fine Pitch™ Screen further improves picture
clarity especially when viewing higher definition
video sources like DVD and HDTV. Text and data
will appear sharper. The fine pitch .52 mm screen
brings out fine image detail otherwise obstructed
by standard .72 mm pitch screen.
Samsung Auto Self Focus™ system offers push
of a button, convenient picture focus resulting in a
clear and crisp picture. A 15-point multi-digital focus
that can be accessed via the set’s menu system is
also featured.
3 Line Digital Comb Filter dramatically reduces
edge image artifacts while improving transition detail.
3:2 Pull Down: Correction for film productions that
are transferred to video. 3:2 Pull Down
compensates for inherent flaws in film (24 frames
per second) to video (30 frames per second) frame
rate transfers, making a smoother picture with less
motion distortion.
AUDIO
BBE High Definition Sound Processing circuit
adjusts the phase relationships of the low, mid and
high frequencies and the augmentation of the high-
er and lower frequencies. The result is improved
brilliance and clarity of live recorded audio
programming, soundtracks and music.

Picture Mode Preset adjusts the picture settings
and color temperature to suit your programming.

Picture Format Size Adjustment 5 Modes - Choose
the perfect aspect ratio for what you’re watching,
whether it’s sports, TV or movies. choose from Wide,

will remember your last setting for each unit.
Previous Channel returns to the previously viewed
channel at the push of a button.
Channel Labeling assigns on-screen channel labels
(e.g.-NBC, ESPN, VH-1).
Closed Caption displays dialog that can be read
along with encoded broadcast TV programs and
pre-recorded videos.
Non Volatile Memory preserves audio, video and
menu settings during power outages.
Sound Mode Preset gives you the best dynamic
sound settings for whatever you’re watching. Choose
from Standard, Music, Movie, Speech or Custom.
Anynet™ System Control Solution:
Control all your Samsung A/V components through a
single TV remote with Samsung’s Anynet™. Anynet
is a network control solution for operating Samsung
devices, allowing you to control key functions of the
A/V devices connected to your TV via on screen
menu. Many Samsung home theater components
now feature Anynet.
Velocity Scan Modulation sharpley defines edges
and outlines by controlling the speed of transitions
between the black and white portions of the signal.
Trilingual On-Screen Displays in English,
Spanish, French
Clock with On/Off Timer
Auto Volume Leveler keeps audio volume
consistent during channel changing to minimize
static sound bursts.
V-Chip1enables parental control for channel and
program blocking of TV programs that incorporate
the rating code signal.
Discrete IR Codes This set is equipped with
discrete IR codes for use with a macro/programmable
remote (see owners manual for details).
CONNECTIONS
DVI-HDTV Interface with HDCP Copy Protection
enables an all-digital rendering of video without
the losses associated with an analog interface. DVI
supports up to 24-bit digital RGB data for each pixel
for the highest image quality. High-bandwidth Digital
Content Protection (HDCP) provides a protected
interface which opens the availability of high value
content such as premium high definition video by
means of new generation DVD players, broadcast
satellite receivers and new digital cable boxes.
This DVI-HDTV interface is compatible with the HDMI
equipped components by means of a cable adapter.
HD Component Video Input accommodates any
add-on HDTV device, HD satellite receiver or HD
cable box that output 1080i format component video
(Y, Pb, Pr). Although this TV will tune HDTV off air
signals, these inputs provide a connection to other
HDTV reception solutions or DVD players featuring
the component video output.
