Learn how to use various features of the TV.
Connections
Connect an antenna cable to the TV to watch broadcasts and use a LAN cable or a wireless router to access the
internet on your TV. You can also use the various ports that come with the product to connect a wide variety of
external devices to the TV.

This guide provides illustrated instructions on connecting external devices like video equipment, gaming consoles,
and computers to the TV. Select an external device and a connection method to see detailed instructions on
establishing the connection.

Antenna Connection
Connect an antenna cable to the TV.
An antenna connection is not required if using the TV with a cable receiver/set-top box combination or a satellite receiver/
set-top box combination.
If using a ground-wave antenna, connect the antenna cable to the Ground-Wave UHD or Ground Wave/Cable port. If using a
cable antenna, connect the antenna cable to the Ground Wave/Cable port.
If using a ground-wave antenna and a cable antenna, connect the ground-wave antenna to the 지상파 UHD port and the
cable antenna to the 지상파/케이블 port.
Connecting to the Internet
Connect the TV to the internet.

Connecting to a Wired Network

Plug in a LAN cable, and the TV automatically connects to the network.
If network connection is not established automatically, see the “Network” section of Troubleshooting.
Use a CAT 7 (*STP type) cable.
*STP: Shielded Twisted Pair
The TV is unable to connect to networks with a speed below 10Mbps.
Depending on the model, this feature may not be supported.
Connecting to a Wireless Network

Verify the wireless router's network name (SSID) and security key before establishing a connection. The network
name (SSID) and security key are available on the wireless router's  screen. See the wireless router's
user manual for more information.

Select your wireless network.

The actual menu screen may differ depending on the TV model.
If the wireless router you wish to connect to does not appear on the list, select Add Network at the end of the list and enter
the network name (SSID) manually.
If the wireless router has a WPS or PBC button, select Use WPS at the end of the list and then press the wireless router's
WPS or PBC button. The TV will then connect to the network automatically.
To check or remove the name (SSID) of a previously connected network, move the focus to Manage Saved Networks and
press the Select button.
Verifying Network Status

Turning the TV On using a Mobile Device

You can use a mobile device connected to the same network as the TV to turn the TV on.
You can use the SmartThings app or the Apple AirPlay feature to turn on the TV from your mobile device.
Connecting an IP-Control Device to the TV

It's possible to manage the TV's system by remotely connecting an IP-control device to the TV.
In order to use this feature, Power On with Mobile has to be enabled.
Turning this feature on may allow other IP control devices to control your TV. We recommend turning this feature on only if
an authorized third-party custom controller is installed and   for a Samsung TV and if your Wi-Fi
network is password protected.
Depending on the model, this feature may not be supported.
Changing the name of the TV
Settings General System Manager Device Name Try Now
Use this option to change the TV's name on the network. Select User Input at the bottom of the list to enter a
custom name.

Screen Sharing (Smart View) with Your Mobile Device
You can watch the screen of your mobile device on the TV screen through Smart View or Tap View.
For more information about Screen Sharing (Smart View) with your mobile device, refer to Sources
Connection Guide Smartphone Screen Sharing (Smart View).
• To turn off Screen Sharing (Smart View), disconnect the mobile device or press the button on the remote
control.
• Using the Smart View menu on your mobile device, you can change the settings such as aspect ratio.
• Use AirPlay if you are an iPhone or iPad user. For more information, refer to Sources Connection
Guide Smartphone Apple AirPlay.
• The screen sharing function (Smart View / Apple AirPlay) on your mobile device appears on Multi View of the TV
(or the screen on your mobile device).

Using the Tap View function
Tap your mobile device on the TV, you can watch the Multi View or mobile device's screen through the TV screen.
Depending on the model, this feature may not be supported.
This function is available in Samsung mobile devices with Android 8.1 or higher.
1. Enable the Tap View function of your mobile device.
For more information about  refer to “Enabling the 탭 뷰” below for how to set.
2. Turn on the screen of your mobile device.
3. Place your mobile device on the top of the TV. The TV screen switches to Multi View or mobile device's screen.
When you perform Tap View in Ambient Mode feature or Art mode (only in The Frame models), only the mobile device's
screen appears on the TV.
4. Watch the Multi View or mobile device's screen on the TV screen.
The displayed TV screen may differ depending on the model.
This function enables mirroring (Smart View) by detecting vibrations generated when you tap the mobile device on the TV.
Be sure to tap away from the TV screen and bezel corners. It may cause scratch or damage to the TV or mobile device.
We recommend using your mobile device with the cover in place and lightly tap it on any external edge of the TV.
Enabling the Tap View function
Enable Tap View in the SmartThings app.
Depending on the SmartThings app version, you may need to register the TV with your mobile device.
1. Launch the SmartThings app on your mobile device.
2. Select Settings ( ) in SmartThings app on your mobile device.
3. Set Tap View to on.
When the TV connects with the mobile device for the  time, select Allow in connection pop-up window on the TV
screen.

Using Multi View
While watching the TV, you can see content from your mobile device through mirroring (Smart View / Apple
AirPlay).
To start Multi View, run the screen sharing (Smart View / Apple AirPlay) for your mobile device. This function can be
started or stopped by pressing the button on the remote control.
This function operates only by TV broadcasts, external devices, or apps that support Multi View.
While running Multi View, app casting from your mobile device is run on Multi View. This function is not available in some
apps.
To stop this function, press and hold the button on the remote control.
Depending on the model, this feature may not be supported.
In some models, you can watch the feed from a camera connected to the mobile device’s SmartThings app.
Q-Symphony is not supported by Multi View.
When an external device that connects to a receiver or Soundbar is used in Multi View, sound outputs from the TV speaker,
not from the receiver or Soundbar.
Press the down directional button on the TV screen. Available content items appear.
When you press the Enter button while running Multi View, the focused screen is viewed in the full screen.
•Select Content
Selects content to be displayed on the left screen.
•Watch Mobile/Camera
Enjoy your mobile content by mirroring (Smart View).
You can watch the feed from a camera connected to the mobile device’s SmartThings app.
•Screen Size
Selects the desired size of Multi View.
•PIP Position
Selects the position of a small screen on the full screen.
The focusing left or right screen appears as small window.
•Sound Output
You will hear the sound of the selected screen through another speaker connected to the TV.
Depending on the model, this feature may not be supported.
•Sound Distribution
You will hear the sound of both screens at the same time by adjusting the ratio of each screens sound.
Depending on the model, this feature may not be supported.

Connection Cable Image Description
DVI

HDMI
DVI to HDMI cables may transmit digital video signals only and not
audio signals. Accordingly, the use of an HDMI to HDMI cable is
recommended.
Optical
This type of cable is used to transmit audio signals to external
speakers with minimal loss.
Optical cables do not transmit video signals.
Component
A cable used to transmit analog signals.
The cable splits video signals into red, green, and blue channels and
transmits the signals in HD (1080i) quality. Audio signals are
transmitted via the red and white channels.
Composite
A cable used to transmit analog signals.
Video signals are transmitted via the yellow channel, whereas audio
signals are transmitted via the red and white channels.
Available connection cables may differ depending on the model or geographical area.

Changing the Source to a Connected External Device
It's possible to change the input signal of the TV and connected external devices.
Source
From the screen, select a connected external device to set it as the signal source.
With models that support universal remotes, connecting an external device (e.g., a Blu-ray player or a gaming console) to
the TV's HDMI port and turning on the device results in the device being selected automatically as the TV's signal source or
the device automatically pairing with the universal remote. For more information, refer to "Using Samsung Remote to
Control External Devices (Universal Remote)".
When you connect a USB device to the TV's USB port, a pop-up message containing links to lists of media  stores on the
device appears on the screen.
Depending on the external device, this feature may not be supported.

1.Universal Remote Setup
You can control all external devices connected to the TV using a single Samsung remote. Follow the on-screen
instructions to register external devices.
For more information, refer to "Using Samsung Remote to Control External Devices (Universal Remote)".
2.Edit
Change the name and/or the icon of the input port.
3.Information
View detailed information about the connected device.
4.Add to Home
Add an icon of the selected device to the Home screen for quick selection of the device as the source.

Before Connecting External Devices
Described below are notes and suggestions on connecting external devices to the TV.
The number of ports and their names and locations may vary depending on the model.
When connecting an external device to the TV, refer to the device's user manual as well. The number of ports on an external
device and their names and locations may vary depending on the manufacturer.
Connecting using an HDMI Cable
• The following types of HDMI cables are recommended:
– High Speed HDMI Cable
– High Speed HDMI Cable with Ethernet
– Premium High Speed HDMI Cable
– Premium High Speed HDMI Cable with Ethernet
– Ultra High Speed HDMI Cable
• Use an HDMI cable that is less than 17mm thick to ensure an optimal connection.
• Use of an non-certified HDMI cable may result in a blank screen or a connection error.
• Certain HDMI cables and external devices may not be compatible with the TV's HDMI version.
• This product does not support Ethernet access over HDMI. Ethernet is a Local Area Network (LAN) model
utilizing standard coaxial cables of the IEEE.
• Use a cable that is less than 3m in length to get the best UHD-viewing quality.
• Depending on the type of the graphic card used, certain computers may not support HDMI. If connecting a
computer that does not support HDMI, use an HDMI-DVI cable or HDMI-DisplayPort cable to connect the
computer to the TV.
• Connecting the TV to an external device (DVD/Blu-ray player, set-top box, etc.) via an HDMI cable automatically
activates Power Synchronization Mode. Power Synchronization Mode continuously monitors external devices
that are connected via an HDMI cable. To disable this feature, disconnect the HDMI cable from the external
device.
Depending on the model, this feature may not be supported.

Connecting External Speakers
• For better audio quality, connect an A/V receiver to the TV.
• Connecting an audio device using an optical cable automatically changes Sound Output to External Audio
Device. However, the external audio device must be turned on before connecting the cable. Sound Output can be
configured manually as follows:
The optical port may not be supported depending on the model.
– From Quick Settings Screen
Under Quick Settings's Sound Output ( Settings up directional button Sound Output), press the
Select button to choose Optical.
– From All Settings Screen
Under Sound Output ( Settings Sound Sound Output), select Optical.
Refer to the sound bar's user manual when connecting it to the TV.
• If you hear an unusual noise while operating an external device, the unusual noise may be caused by the external
device itself. In this case, contact the external device's manufacturer.
• Digital audio is only available with 5.1-channel broadcasts.

Connecting a Computer
• See the “Before Connecting a Computer (Supported Resolutions)” section for information on resolutions
supported by the TV.
• To connect a computer to the TV, both devices must be on the same network.
• Depending on network configuration, network quality, and device functionality, file-sharing may not be
supported with IP storages and other network-based products by third parties.
e.g.) NAS (Network-Attached Storage)
Connecting a Mobile Device
• In order to use the screen sharing (Smart View) feature, you will need a mobile device that supports a screen
sharing protocol like Screen Mirroring or Smart View. Refer to the mobile device’s user manual to find out if your
mobile device supports screen sharing (Smart View).
• To use Wi-Fi Direct, the mobile device must support Wi-Fi Direct. Check your mobile device’s user manual to find
out if the device supports Wi-Fi Direct.
• In order to use screen sharing (Smart View), the mobile device and the TV must be connected to the same
network.
• Use AirPlay if you are an iPhone or iPad user. For more information, refer to Sources Connection
Guide Smartphone Apple AirPlay.
Depending on the model, this feature may not be supported.
• Depending on the network status, you may experience audio and/or video interruptions while using certain
features.
• Depending on network configuration, network quality, and device functionality, file-sharing may not be
supported with IP storages and other network-based products by third parties.
