• Be sure to plug in the power cord untilit is firmly seated. When unplugging the power cord from awalloutlet,

Internet security
Samsung takes a number of steps to protectits Internet-compatible Smart TVs against unauthorized incursions and
hacking . For example, certain sensitive cortfmunications between the TV and the Internet servers are encrypted. In
addition, the TV's operating system has adopted controlsto preventthe installation of unauthorized applications.
Although we take steps toprotectyourSmart TV and personal information, no Internet-connected device or
transmission is completely secure . We therefore encourage you totake additional steps to safeguard your TV, secure
yourInternet connection, and minimizethe risk of unauthorized access . These steps are listed below:
• When Samsung releases software updates to improve the securityof your TV, you should promptlyinstall these
updates. To automatically receive these updates, turn on Auto Update in the TV's menu ((n) >®Settings> Support
>Software Update> Auto Update) . When an update is available, a popup message appears on the TV screen . Accept
the software download and update by selecting Yes when prompted. Take steps to secure your wireless access
point and network. Your access point's manual should provide additional detailsabout how toimplementthe
following measures:
- Secure your wireless access point's management settingswith a unique password to prevent unauthorized
changes tosecurity related settings.
-Implement standard encryption (e . g., WPA2 encryption) on yourwireless access pointto secure yourwireless
network signal.
- Secure access toyour wireless networkwith ahard-to-guess password.
- Confirm your access point'sfirewall setting is enabled (if so equipped) .
- Make sure thatall your Internet-connected devices are.behind yournetwork'sfirewall.
-Ifyour access point or modem has a standby mode button, use it to disconnect your home networkfrom the
Internet when it is not in use.
• Use strong passwords forallyourInternet accounts (Netflix, Face book, etc.). Ifyour TV has a camera, recess the
camera intothe TV's bezel when it is not in use. Recessing the camera makes it inoperative.
• If any unexpected messages appear on your TV screen requesting permission to linka device or enable a remote
session, do NOT accept.
• Do notvisit suspicious web sites and do not install any suspicious programs . We recommend that users install only
those authorized apps provided by Samsung through Samsung Smart Hub.

01 TV Installation
Mounting the TV on a wall
J.\ If you mountthis TV on awall, followthe instructions exactly as set out by the manufacturer. Unless it is
Ln correctly mounted, the TV may slide orfall and cause serious injuryto achild oradult and serious damage
tothe TV.
For models providing wall mount adapters, installthem as shown in thefigure below before installing thewall mount
kit.

Do notinstallyourwallmountkitwhileyour TV is turned on. This may result in personal injuryfrom electric

• Do not use screws that are longerthanthestandard dimension ordo not complywith the VESA standard screw
specifications. Screws that are too long may cause damage tothe inside ofthe TV set.
• For wallmountsthat do notcomplywith the VESA standard screw specifications,the length ofthe screws may
differdepending on thewall mountspecifications.
• Do notfasten the screws toofirmly. This may damage the productor cause the producttofall, leading to personal
injury. Samsung is notliableforthese kinds of accidents .
• Samsung is notliableforproduct damage orpersonal injury when a non-VESA ornon-specified wall mount is used
or when the consume~fails tofollowthe product installation instructions.
• Do notmountthe TV atmorethan a 15 degree tilt.
• Always have two people mountthe TV onto awall.
Providing properventilation foryourTV
When you installyour TV, maintain adistance ofatleast 4 inches (10 cm) between the TV and otherobjects (walls,
cabinet sides, etc.) to ensure properventilation. Failing tomaintain properventilation may result in afire oraproblem
withthe product caused by an increase in its internaltemperature.
• When you installyour TV with a stand orawallmount, we strongly recommend you use parts provided by Samsung
Electronics only. Using parts provided by anothermanufacturer may cause difficultieswith the product orresult in
injury caused by the productfalling.

Safety Precaution: Securing the TV to the wall to prevent falling
Caution :Pulling, pushing, orclimbing on the TV may cause the TV tofall. In particular, ensure
yourchildren do not hang on ordestabilizethe TV. This action may cause the TV totip over,
causing serious injuries or death. Followallsafety precautions provided in the Safety Flyer
included withyour TV. For added stability and safety, you can purchase and installthe anti-fall
device as described below.
WARNING : Never place atelevision set in an unstable location. The television set may fall, causing serious
personal injury or death . Many injuries, particularlytochildren, can be avoided by taking simple precautions
such as
• Using cabinets or stands recommended by the manufacturerofthetelevision set.
• Only using furniturethat can safelysupportthetelevision set.
• Ensuring thetelevision set is notoverhanging the edge ofthe supporting furniture.
• Not placing thetelevision set on tallfurniture (for example, cupboards or bookcases) withoutanchoring
both thefurniture and thetelevision setto asuitable support.
• Not placing thetelevision set on cloth orothermaterialsthat may be located between thetelevision set
and supporting furniture.
• Educating children aboutthe dangers ofclimbing on furnitureto reach thetelevision set orits controls.
If you are retaining and relocating thetelevision set that you are replacing with this new set, you should
applythe same precautionsto the old set.
Preventing the TV from falling
1. Using theappropriate screws, firmly fasten aset of brackets tothewall.
Confirm thatthe screws are firmlyattached tothewall.
- You may need additional material such as wall anchors depending on
thetype ofwall.
2. Using theappropriately sized screws, firmlyfasten aset of brackets tothe
TV.
- For the screw specifications, referto "Standard Screw" in thetable on
page 7.
3. Connect the brackets fixed tothe TV and the brackets fixed tothewall
with adurable, heavy-dutystring, and thentiethe string tightly.
-Installthe TV near thewall so that it does notfall backwards.
- Connect the string so thatthe brackets fixed tothewall are atthe
same height as orlowerthan the brackets fixed tothe TV.

• The images, buttons, and functions ofthe remote control may differdepending on the model.
• The remote control has Braille points on the Power, Channel, Volume, and Select buttons and can be used by
visually impaired persons.
• If yo u use theremote controlthat comes with your TV tocontrolanother TV, some functions may notoperate
normally.

Installing batteries into the remote control
Match the polarityofthe batteriestothe symbols in the batterycompartment.
• Use the remote controlwithin 23 feet (7 m) ofthe TV.
• Bright light may affectthe performance ofthe remote control. Avoid using nearbright
fluorescent lightsor neon signs.
• The color and shape ofthe remote may vary depending on the model.

03 Initial Setup
When you turn on your TV forthefirsttime, it immediatelystartsthe Initial Setup. Follow the instructions displayed on
the screen and configurethe TV's basic settingsto suityourviewing environment.
• To perform Initial Setup using the SmartThings app, you must connect yourmobile device via Wi-Fi.
• Ifthe pop-up for setup does not appear automatically on the Smart Things app on yourmobile device, manually add
the TV using Add Device on the dashboard of the Smart Things app, and then continuewith the set up process .
• The Smart Things app is availableformobile devices running Android 6.0 orhigheror iOS 10 orhigher.
• Noise may occur temporarily when the TV communicates with mobile devices .
Using the TV Controller
You can turn on the TV withthe TV Controller button atthe bottom ofthe TV, and then use theControl menu . The
Control menu appears when the TV Controller button is pressed whilethe TV is On. For more informationabout its
usage, refertothefigure below.
• The screen may dim if theprotectivefilm on the SAMSUNG logo orthe bottom ofthe TV is not detached. Please
remove the protectivefilm.

Troubleshooting
Ifthe TV seems to have a problem, firstreviewthis list of possible problems and solutions. Alternatively, reviewthe
Troubleshooting Section in thee-Manual. If none ofthetroubleshooting tips apply, please visit"www. samsung . com"
and click Supportorcontactthe call centerlisted on the back cover ofthis manual.
• For detailed information on troubleshooting, watch thetroubleshooting videos at www.samsung . com/spsn.
• This TFT LED panel is made up of sub pixels which require sophisticatedtechnologyto produce . There may be,
however, afewbright ordark pixels on the screen. These pixels will have no impact on the performance of the
product.
• To keep your TV inoptimum condition, upgrade tothe latestsoftware. Use the Update Now or Auto Update
functions on the TV's menu ((n) >®Settings>Support> Software Update> Update Now orAuto Update) .
The TV won'tturn on.
• Make sure thatthe AC power cord is securely plugged in tothe TV and thewalloutlet.
• Make sure thatthewall outlet is working and the powerindicator at the bottom of the TV is lit and glowing asolid
red .
• Try pressing the TV Controllerbutton atthe bottom ofthe TV to make sure thatthe problem is notwiththe remote
control. Ifthe TV turns on, referto" The remote control does notwork" below.
There is no picture/video/sound, or a distorted picture/video/sound from an external device, or
"Weak or No Signal" is displayed on the TV, oryou cannot find a channel.
• Make sure the connection tothe device is correct and thatall cables are fullyinserted.
• Remove and reconnect all cables connected tothe TV and the external devices. Try new cables if possible .
• Confirm thatthe correct input source has been selected ((n) >~Source) .
• Perform a TV self diagnosis todetermine if the problem is caused by the TV orthe device ((n) >®Settings>
Support>Self Diagnosis> StartPicture Test orStart Sound Test).
• Ifthetestresults are normal, rebootthe connected devices by unplugging each device's power cord and then
plugging it in again .Ifthe issue persists, refertothe connection guide in the user manual ofthe connected device .
• If you are not using a cable box orsatellite box, and your TV is receiving TV signalsfrom an antenna ora cable wall
connector, run Auto Program to search for channels ((n) >®Settings> Broadcasting> Auto Program).
The remote control does not work.
• Check if the powerindicatoratthe bottom ofthe TV blinks when you press the remote's Power button. If it does
not, replace the remote control'sbatteries.
• Make sure thatthe batteries are installed with theirpoles(+/-) in the correctdirection.
• Try pointing the remote directlyatthe TV from 5ft. to 6ft. (1.5-1.8 m) away .
The cable box orsatellite box remote controldoesn'tturnthe TV on orofforadjustthevolume.
• Program the cable box orsatellite box remote controlto operate the TV . Refer tothe cable box orsatellite box user
manual forthe SAMSUNG TV code.

The TV settings are lostafter5minutes.
• The TV is in the Retail Mode. Change the Usage Mode in the System Manager Menu to Home Mode (IJl) >®
Settings> General> System Manager> Usage Mode> Home Mode).
Intermittent Wi-Fi
• Make sure the TV has anetwork connection (IJl) >®Settings> General> Network> Network Status).
• Make sure the Wi-Fi password is entered correctly.
• Check the distance between the TV and the modem or access point. The distance should not exceed 50 ft (15.2 m).
• Reduce interference by not using orturning off wireless devices. Also, verifythatthere are no obstacles between
the TV and the modem or access point. (The Wi-Fi strength can be decreased by appliances, cordless phones, stone
walls/fireplaces, etc.)

• Contact your Internet Service Provider(ISP) and ask them to reset your networkcircuitto re-registerthe MAC
addresses ofyour new modem or access point and the TV.
Video App problems (Youtube etc)
• Change the DNS to 8.8.8.8. Select IJll >®Settings> General> Network> Network Status> IP Settings> DNS
Setting > Enter manually> DNS Server> enter 8.8.8.8 > OK.
• Reset by selecting IJl) >®Settings> Support> Self Diagnosis> Reset Smart Hub.

Samsung Remote Support service offers you one-on-one supportwith a Samsung Technician who can remotely:
• DiagnoseyourTV
• Adjust the TV settings for you
• Perform afactory reset on your TV
• Install recommended firmware updates
How does Remote Support work?
You can easily get Samsung Remote Support service foryour TV.
1. Call the Samsung Contact Center and ask forremote support.
2. Open the menu on your TV, and then go tothe Support section. (IJl) >®settings> Support)
3. Select Remote Management, then read and agree tothe service agreements. When the PIN screen appears,
provide the PIN numbertothetechnician.
4. The technician willthen access your TV.

Eco Sensor and screen brightness

Eco Sensor adjuststhe brightness ofthe TV automatically. This feature measures the light in your room and optimizes
the brightness ofthe TV automaticallyto reduce power consumption. If you wanttoturn this off, go to (a)>® Settings
> General> Eco Solution > Ambient Light Detection.
• Ifthe screen is too darkwhile you are watching TV in adarkenvironment, it may be due tothe Ambient Light
Detection function.
• The eco sensor is located atthe bottom ofthe TV. Do notblock the sensor with any object. This can decrease picture
brightness.
Caring for the TV
• Ifasticker was attached tothe TV screen, some debris can remain
after you remove the sticker. Please clean thedebris off before
watching TV.
• The exterior and screen ofthe TV can get scratched during cleaning.
Be sure towipe the exterior and screen carefully using asoftcloth to
prevent scratches.
• Do not spray wateror any liquid directlyonto the TV. Any liquidthat
goes intothe product may cause afailure, fire, orelectric shock.
• To clean the screen, turn offthe TV, then gentlywipe away smudges
and fingerprints on the panelwith amicro-fibercloth. Clean the
body or panel ofthe TV with amicro-fibercloth dampened with a
small amount ofwater.Afterthat, remove the moisturewith adry
cloth. While cleaning, do notapplystrong force tothe surface ofthe
panel because it can damage the panel. Never use flammable liquids
(benzene, thinner, etc.) ora cleaning agent. For stubborn smudges,
spray asmall amount of screen cleaner on amicro-fibercloth, and
then use the cloth towipe away the smudges.
