MSU322/MSU642 SOFTWARE INSTALLATION
NOTE: THE MSU HARD DISKS WILL BE INITIALIZED
IN THIS PROCEDURE. ALL EXISTING DATA WILL
BE REMOVED FROM THEM.
USING THE MEDIA STORAGE UNIT (MSU)
•To start or shut down the MSU, press the Rocker Switch (ON/OFF) (2.) shortly
(0.5 – 3 sec).
•Please note that shutting down the MSU takes approximately 20-30 seconds.
Do not press any switches while the MSU is shutting down.

INITIALIZING THE MSU SOFTWARE
1. In the MSU, switch on the mains power (5.). Do not start the
MSU yet.
2. Insert the USB memory stick into a USB port on the MSU.
3. Start the MSU by pressing the ON/OFF switch shortly (0.5 –
2 sec).
4. Press the Del key right after pressing the ON/OFF switch to
enter the BIOS.

5. In BIOS select the Boot tab and then Removable Drives by
pressing the Enter key.
6. Select the USB memory stick as the boot device by
pressing the “–“ key so that it will be the 1st drive.
7. Save and exit BIOS by pressing ‘F10’ and selecting ‘Ok’.
After this MSU will boot.

8. Make sure that the MSU is booted from the USB memory
stick and that the following screen appears after startup.
9. Confirmation screen for installing MSU operating system to
hard drive. Old installations will be overwritten. ‘Yes’
resumes installation, ‘No’ cancels it.

12. Restoring partition from image file
13. Software restore is complete. Lab100 software is now
installed onto the MSU.
14. Remove the USB memory stick from the MSU and press OK
to reboot the MSU. After the MSU has started up it is ready
for use.
