7.Donotplacethe radioon an unstablecart, stand,bracketor
table.The radiomayfall,causingseriouspersonalinjuryand
damage tothe radio.
8.Ventilation:Thisradioshouldbe situated sothatitslocation or
position doesnotinterferewithitsproperventilation.
Forexample,the radioshouldnotbe used on abed,sofa,rug
orothersoft surfacesthatmayblockthe ventilationopenings.
It shouldnotbe placed inabuilt-insituation likeacabinetthat
mayreduceairflowthrough theventilationopenings.
9.Powersources:The radioshouldbeoperated onlyfromthe
type ofpowersourceindicated on the markinglabel.If you are
notsureofthe type ofpowersupplytoyourhome,consult
yourradiodealerorpowercompany.

10.Powercords:The powercordshouldbe positioned soitisnot
walked on,pinched,oritemsplaced on top ofit. Payparticular
attention tocordsatplugs,conveniencereceptacles,and the
pointwheretheyexitfromthe unit.Unplug thepowercordby
gripping the powerplug,notthe cord.Operatethe radiousing
onlythe correcttype ofpowersourceindicated.If you arenot
sureofthetype ofpowersupplytoyourhome,consultyour
dealerorlocalpowercompany.
11.Donotoverload wall outletsorextension cords.Thiscan result
inarisk offireorelectricalshock.Neverinsertobjectsofany
kind intothe radiothrough opening.
The objectsmaytouchdangerousvoltage pointsorshortout
parts.Thiscouldcauseafireorelectricalshock.
12.If the radioisleft attended and unused forlong periodsoftime
,unplugitfromthe wall outlet.Thiswill preventdamage
caused bylightning orpowerline surges.
13.If the radioisleft unattendedand unused forlong periodsof
time,removethe batteries.The batteriesmayleakand
damage furnitureoryourradio.
14.Donotattempttoservicethe receiveryourself. Removing the
covermayexposeyou todangerousvoltage,and will voidthe
warranty.Referall servicing toauthorized servicepersonnel.
15.ObjectandLiquidEntry–Neverpushobjectsofanykind into
thisradiothrough openingsastheymaytouchdangerous
voltage pointsorshort–outpartsthatcouldresultinafireor
electricshock.Neverspill liquidofanykind on the product.
16.The applianceshouldbe serviced byqualified service
personnelwhen:
A:The powersupplycordorthe plughasbeen damaged.
B:Objectshavefallen orliquidhasbeen spilled intothe radio.
C:The radiohasbeen exposed torainorwater.

Notes on safety
Onlyoperatethisappliancewithapowersupplyof220-230Volt/
50-60 Hz.If you intend notusing theapplianceforalongerperiod of
time(eg.Holidays),pullthe plugoutofthe mainssockettoensurea

Operation
Clock
Radiocontrolled clock
Innormalcase,pleasesetthe timezone switch7to0(UTC)
position.
When the applianceisconnected tothe powersupplyforthe first
timeorifithasbeen separated fromthe powersupplyforalonger
period oftime,the radiowill appearL9 orL8 orless toindicatethe
strengthofradiocontrolled signal.If the signalindication isweaker
thanL7,pleaserotatethe externalantennaandifnecessaryextend
the externalantenna toaproperposition togetbestsignal.
Displaywill appear—:—and the symbolwill blankindicating
the radioissearching radiocontrolled signal.The correcttimeand
datewill be setautomatically.When the timesignalisbeing
received,the timeand datehavebeen setcorrectly(after
approximate3minutes),the symbolstopsblinking and remains
litindicating the timeand datearewithradiocontrolled time.

If the symbolblinksirregularly,trytoimprovethe reception ofthe
radiocontrolled timesignalbyre-allocating the radio,orrotateor
extend the externalantenna.If the timesignalcannotbereceived in
yourarea,youwillhavetosetthetimeand datemanually.
Note:
Toactivateradiocontrolled timecheck manually,press Timebutton 9
formorethan 4seconds,the appliancewill starttosearchradio
controlledtimesignal.
Manualtimesetting
TIME
PressTIMEbutton,displaywill flashand previousallocated time.
Press SETbutton,the Hourdigitsinthe timedisplaybegintoblink
withabeep.
1.Adjustthe hourwithkey+or-.
2.Pressthe SETbuttononceagaintoconfirm thehour,nowthe
minutedigitsinthe timedisplaybegintoblink.
Adjusttheminutesjustasyouadjustedthe hour:
1.Setthe minuteswithkey+or-.
2.Press the TIMEbuttononceagaintoconfirm the timesettingwith
abeep.
The second startstocount.The symbolwill appearindicatingthis
isnotradiocontrolled time.
Note:
IfthereisDaylightSaving Time(D.S.T.)systeminyourplace,
afterpressing SETbutton,press Modebutton once will
advance onehouron timesetting,Display will showD.S.T.
symbolindicating thetimeisunderD.S.T.status.

Turnon theradiowiththe Poweron/off key1.
Tuneintodesiredstations
Manualstation selection
1.Withthekey15Tuning+and-,youcantuneintothefrequencyof
yourdesired stations.
2.Scanningtuning
Press and holdkey15 +or–formorethan 0.5secondsand
release,the radiowill searchforthe nextstation.

Storing thepresetstations
Tuneintothestations.
Selectamemorypresetbutton and press formorethan 2seconds
until aconfirmed beep soundsand displayMstopsblinking.The
station isnowstored.
Note:
Whenyoustoreanewstationinamemoryslot, thestation
previouslyinthatslotisautomaticallyerased.
Recall thestation memories
Recall the station memories,simplyselectthe required bandsand
press required stationmemoryslotbuttons1-7.
Volume
You can selecttherequired volumebyadjustingtheVolumecontrol
button18.
AlarmClock
Alarm setting can be done whilethe appliancepowerisduring on or
off position.
The alarm clock isequipped withtwoalarm systemswhichcan be
operatedindependentlyofeachothereitherwithHumanWake
Systembuzzerorwitharadio(radioalarm clock ).

Alarm withradio
If you liketobe awoken bythe radiostation youarelistening,
pressAlarm system1or2formorethan 2seconds,the appliance
will storethe radioalarm station,then followprocedures1-7toset
radioalarm.
1.Setthe desired radioalarm volume.
2.Selectalarm system1or2bypressing the alarm 1or2button.
Displaywill blinkselected alarm systemsymbol.
3.Press alarm SETbutton 13,displaywill blinkbothalarm hourand
alarm mode withabeep.
4.Press alarm Mode button 17 toselectalarm radiomode until
displayshows.
5.Press +or–toadjustrequired alarm hourthen pressSETbutton
again,displayminutedigitswill blink.Press +or–button toadjust
required alarm minute.
6.Press weekdayselection 1-7(Sunday–Saturday)toselect
required alarm weekday.Displaywill showthe days ofthe week
onwhichyou wishtobe woken bythe alarm.
7.Press alarm button 1or2toconfirm all the alarm setwithabeep.
Displaywill showindicating radioalarm isset.
Note:
Ifthealarmedweek day(s)oralarm modeisnotselected,
display will blinkall theweek days orshowforafew
secondsindicating thealarm isnotsetand disappear,
thealarm will notbeactivated.

Alarm withHWSalarm buzzer
1.Selectalarm system1or2bypressing the alarm 1or2button
(11 or10).Displaywill blinkselected alarm systemsymbol.
2.Press alarm SETbutton 13,displaywill blinkbothalarm hourand
alarm mode withabeep.
3.Press alarm mode button17 toselectalarm buzzermode until
displayshows.
4.Press +or–toadjustrequired alarm hourthen pressSETbutton
again,displayminutedigitswill blink.Press +or–button toadjust
required alarm minute.
5.Press weekdayselection 1-7(Sunday–Saturday)toselect
required alarm weekdays.Displaywill showthe days ofthe week

6.Press alarm button 1or2toconfirm all the alarm setwithabeep.

Note:
If the alarm weekday(s)isnotselected,displaywill blinkall the
weekdays and ,the alarm will notbe activated.
Cancelalarm setting.
If you donotwishtobewokenup atthealarm timeyou haveset,
youcancancelthealarm function.
1.Selectalarm system1or2bypressing the alarm 1or2button
(key11 or10).
2.Press SETbutton ,the alarm mode symbolwill blinkwithabeep.
3.Press alarm MODEbutton 17 one ortwotimes(depending you
wereinalarm radiooralarm buzzerstatus)till displayblink.

4.Press alarm 1or2button againtoconfirm alarm cancellation.
The symbolwill stayon the displayforaround 2seconds
and disappear.
Note:
You mayalsoselectdays ofthe weekwhichyou wishtobe ornotto
be woken afterpressing SETbutton whiledisplayisblinking days of
the week.Press 1-7(Sunday–Saturday)ofbutton 16 forselection.
Snooze
Tointerruptthe alarm signal(radioorbeep tone/HWS),press the
Snoozebutton 15.The alarm stopsand beginsagainwithintervalof
5minutes.The alarm willcontinueforan hourifnotbeinginterrupted.
Stop thealarmsignal
Tostop the alarm signaltotally,press button 1Poweron/off.
Naptimer
Withkey2,you can selectthe period forthe shortterm alarm in
10 minutesstepsfrom10-120 minutes.
TheNap timerstartswhen you releasethe key.NAPwill appearon
display.The alarm signalsoundsaftertheperiod oftimewhichyou
haveset.
If you wishtoturnoff theNap timerbeforethetimeisup,simply
adjustthenumberofminutesbypressingNAPkeytoOFF and
release.NAP will disappearfromdisplay.
WhenNap timersignalison,turnoff the timersignalbypressing
key1Poweron/off.
You can alsoactivatethe snoozefunction asdescribed above.

SLEEP –autoshutoff
Continuouslypressingthe Powerbutton 1willactivatethe sleep
function,the radiowill switchoff automaticallyin15 minutesstep
from15-120.TheSleep controlbeginswhen you releasethe key
and displaywill appear.Afterthe minuteswhichselected,the radio
turnsitselfoffautomatically.Ifyouwishtoturnofftheradio
beforehand,pressPoweron/offbutton1.
Headphones
The radioprovidesaHeadphonessockettoconnectthe
headphonesset.Whenplugintheheadphones,the speaker
isdisconnected.
Alarmleveladjustment
Withalarm leveladjustmentswitch5,you mayselectrequired alarm
signallevel.
Note:
Alarmleveladjustmentworksonlyforbuzzeralarm.
Display backlighton/off
Key4providesyoutoselectwhetheryou requiretoilluminate
thedisplay.

TimeZoneswitch
Innormalcase,pleasesettimezone switchto0position.
Forsomecountrieswheredon’tprovide radiocontrolled timefacility
butstill can receiveradiocontrolled timesignalfromnearby
countries.Ifthe timezone isdifferent,you mayusethe timezone
switchtocorrectthe time.
Forexample,inTurkeywhichisone hourahead ofCentralEuropean
timebutstill can receiveradiocontrolled timesignalfromGermany,
you mayusethistimezone switchtocorrectthelocaltime(still radio
controlledtime).
Suggesttosetthe switchat0position innormalcase.
Troubleshooting /RESET
If the radiofailstooperatecorrectlyorsomedigitson the displayare
missingorincomplete,carryoutthe followingprocedures.
1.Withthe aidofasuitableimplement(the end ofapaperclip),
press the RESETbutton 6forafewseconds,thiswill resetthe
microprocessor,clock timeand clearall the stationsstored in
presetmemory.
