3. Disconnect the charger from the electric outlet once
charging is complete.
4. Remove the batteries from the charger. Batteries may become
warm during charging. Use caution when handling them.
5. The batteries are now ready for use.

1. SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS - This manual contains
important safety and operating instructions for battery
charger NC-MOHOl U.
2. Before using the battery charger, read all instructions and
cautionary markings on the battery charger.
3. CAUTION - To reduce the risk of injury, charge only SANYO
HR-3U and N-3US rechargeable batteries. Other types of
batt~ries may burst causing personal injury and damage.
4. Do not expose charger to rain or snow.
5. Use of an attachment may cause fire, electric shock, or injury
to persons .
6. Do not operate charger if it has received a sharp blow, been
dropped , or otherwise damaged in any way. Have it serviced
at an authorized service center .
7.
Do not disassemble charger. Take it to an authorized service
center for service or repair if required.
8. Incorrect reassembly may result in the risk of electric shock
or fire.
9. To reduce the risk of electric shock, unplug charger from
outlet before attempting any maintenance or cleaning.
Turning off controls will not reduce this risk.

How to use check position
1. Slide battery type switch to Ni-MH or Ni-Cd. Place 1 AA or 1 AAA
size battery into the charger's check position so that the +
(positive) and - (negative) ends (terminals) of the batteries
correspond to the same+ and - marking in the charger.
2. The LED charge indicator light will blink red for about 5 seconds.
3. The LED charge indicator light will then display the remaining
capacity of the battery for about 5 seconds before returning to
normal charging mode.
• If the LED charge indicator light displays red- The remaining
capacity of the battery in the check position is 50% or less .
•
If the LED charge indicator light displays orange- The remaining
capacity of the battery in the check position is between 50% and
80%.
• If the LED charge indicator light displays green- The remaining
capacity of the battery in the check position is 80% or more.

• Use to charge SANYO HR-3U, N-3US or N-3U
batteries only.
• Do not immerse in water or use in humid area
such as in a bathroom.
• Insert batteries correctly by matching+ and -
ends of the battery to the same+ and - position
in the charger .
•
Disconnect charger from receptacle (outlet)
before cleaning, maintenance, or when not in
use.
• Be sure to use charger with correct voltage
only (120V AC).
• Do not attempt to charge for more than 2 days
(48 hours) continuously.
• Never handle charger or batteries with wet or
moist hands. Disconnect the plug from the
outlet.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
LED CHARGE INDICATOR LIGHT
Light is on (steady) while charging and turns off
automatically when charging is complete.
HOW TO CHARGE
1. Slide battery type switch to Ni-MH or Ni-Cd. Place 1 to 4 of AA
or 1 to 2 of AAA size batteries into the charger so that the +
(positive) and - (negative) ends (terminals) of the
batteries correspond to the same + and - marking in the
charger. For fastest charging time of 1 to 2 AA batteries, insert
them into the Quick Charge positions (Figure A). For charging 1
to 2 AAA batteries, use center positions (Figure B) . NOTICE : AA
and AAA batteries should not be charged simultaneously.
Electrical performances are not guaranteed when AA and AAA
batteries are charged together.
2. Fold out foldaway plug and insert into an electrical outlet of AC
100-240V. The LED charge indicator will be red, and battery
charging begins. (NOTE: Do not insert or remove batteries
during this charging process).When charging is complete , the
cljjlrge indicator light turns off . The charging cycle time
depends on battery type and the condition of the battery . See
chart on the other side.

and/or batteries, disconnect from the
receptacle (outlet) immediately and contact the
nearest service center.

• Charge batteries with SANYO NC-MOHOlU charger ONLY.
• Do not use batteries with their+ and - ends (terminals)
reversed.
• Do not modify in any way.
• Do not connect the+ and with ANY object (such as a
necklace or hairpin) as this causes electricity to flow from
the battery .

Never expose to heat or fire.
• If
any liquid from the battery comes in contact with clothes or
skin, wash with clean water immediately and consult a
doctor
at once.
• Stop charging once the specified charging time is reached.
• Never allow batteries to come in contact with or be
immersed in water.
• Do not connect more than 20 batteries together.
• Stop using batteries immediately if you notice anything wrong
with them (such as leakage, color change or deformity).
• Keep out of reach of infants. Children may use only under
strict supervision .

Do not subject the battery to strong shocks.
• Do not use charged and discharged batteries together.

Operating Temperature: Batteries are chemical products . Even
when used within the recommended temperature ranges, their
efficiency
may vary . This is normal, and not a malfunction.
• Batteries
may become warm during charging. This is normal
and no cause for alarm.
• Using the charger in the same circuit as a TV (television),
radio or similar device may cause some "noise" (electrical
interference) with
these devices. If this happens, try using a
different receptacle (outlet).

Avoid charging near a heat source (such as a heater or in
direct sunlight).

Recommended temperature ranges for use:
• Between o·c and 50 °C to use ("discharge") the batteries.
• Between o·c and 40 °C to charge the batteries.
• Between - 20 °C and 30 °C to store the batteries.
Using the batteries outside the above temperature may shorten
battery life and decrease efficiency.

LIMITED WARRANTY
This warranty is valid only for SANYO products purchased new,
in Canada through an Authorized Sanyo Dealer.
This Warranty applie s only to the original retail user, and does
not apply to products used for any industrial, professional or
commercial purpose . Subject to the obligations and exclusions
below, SANYO Canada Inc. warrants to the original retail user of
this SANYO product (the "Product"). that the Product will be free
from defects in materials and workmanship for five years from
the date the Product was first purchased at retail. SANYO
Canada Inc. will repair or replace (at its option) the Product and
any of its parts which fail to conform to this warranty.
OBLIGATIONS: You, the original retail purchaser are responsible
for any costs of transporting the product to and from SANYO
Canada Inc. In order to obtain warranty service, the Product
must be shipped to: SANYO Canada Inc.

The original dated bill of sale or sales slip for any Product,
excluding batteries, must be submitted to SANYO Canada Inc. at
the time warranty service is requested.

MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS
• Periodicall y c lean the +(positive) and - (negative) terminals of
the charger and batteries.
•
Wipe the metal contacts (terminals) with a dry cloth .
• Dirt
build-up may prevent batteries from being charged.
• The charger and batteries should be keep clean and free of dirt
and dust at all times.
• If the plastic of the charger becomes dirty, use a damp cloth to
remove the dirt then dry with a dry cloth. Let it dry completely
before using. Use only a dry cloth for charger's metal terminals
and batteries.
Discharge: Batteries self-discharge (lose their charge) when not in
use. Be sure to charge them before use. Batteries that have not
been used for a while (about a month) will lose some of their charge.
This is not a malfunction. In this case, charge and then
discharge the batteries 2 or 3 times before using. This recharges
batteries properly when they haven't been used for a long time .
Battery Life: Charging and then discharging is possible for
approx. 500 times, depending on their use .

EXCLUSIONS: This warranty does not cover the repair or adjustment
of any product whose serial number has been altered, defaced, or
removed. This warranty does not apply to repairs or replacements
necessitated by any cause beyond the control of SANYO Canada
Inc. including, but not limited to, any malfunction, defect , or failure
caused by or resulting from unauthorized service or parts, improper
maintenance, operation contrary to furnished instructions and / or
warnings, shipping or transit accidents, modification or repair of th e
Product by the user, abuse, misuse, neglect, accident , fire , flood or
other acts of God, incorrect line voltage , or normal wear and tear.
The foregoing is in lieu of all other expre ss warranties and SANYO
Canada Inc. does not assume or authorize any party to as sume for it
any other obligation or liability. The duration of any warranties which
may be implied by law (including the warranties of merchantability
and fitness for a particular purpose) is limited to the term of this
warranty. In no event shall SANYO Canada Inc. be liable for special
incidental or consequential damages arising from ownership or use
of this product, or for any delay in the performance of its obligations
under this warranty due to causes beyond its control. Some
provinces do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty
lasts and/or do not allow the exclusion or limitation of consequential
damages, so the above limitations and exclusions may not apply to
you. This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also
have other rights which vary from province to province.
