1. HANDSET SECTION
The procedure for disassembly the handset is as follows.
a. REMOVAL OF REAR CABINET
(1) Remove the battery compartment lid.
(2) Remove the battery pack and take off the plug.
(3) Remove the rod antenna.
(4) Remove the screws.
(5) While pressing the shaded area to release the hooks on both sides of the cabinet 1. gently open the bottom
of the cabinet 2.
(6) While gently opening the handle, lift and remove 3and 4.
2. BASE STATION
a. Terminal Charge
When cabinet & cabinet bottom assembled,note to contact terminal charge & STW. as shown in the figure.

1. ALIGNMENT FOR HANDSET
NOTE : DURING ALIGNMENT, DESOLDER ANT. WIRE.

Unit Condition
a) Disconnect Ni-Cd battery which feeds 3.8V from power supply terminal.
b) Set unit to “TEST” mode by shorting “TEST” point.
c) Feed 3.8V Ni-Cd battery to power supply terminal.
d) Connect frequency counter to ANT test pin. Confirm the current channel is at CH 10.
e) Connect digital voltmeter to Tx/Rx VCO terminal points.
f) Align T253 (Tx) to obtain 2.2V ±0.1VDC reading from digital voltmeter respectively.
g) Align T153 (Rx) to obtain 1.5V ±0.1VDC reading from digital voltmeter respectively.
h) Tx Frequency ... Confirm the Tx Freq. is 49.9700MHz ±1.2kHz (CH 10) from Freq. Counter.

Unit Condition
a) Push “FLASH” Key. The CH will turn to CH 4. Then Rx MUTE is ON.
b) Tx POWER .... Disconnect frequency counter fromANT pin.
Connect RF electronic voltmeter to ANTENNAtest pin. (50 Ωprobe)
Confirm that the Tx power level is 25 ~ 65mW at RF voltmeter. (No alignment).
c) Tx MODULATION .... Disconnect RF electronic voltmeter from ANT test pin and connect linear detector toANT test pin.
Inject AF oscillator (1kHz, 10mV) to microphone input.
Align VR651 to obtain 2.5 ±0.15kHz dev. from Linear detector and check
300Hz ➞ 2.1 ±0.4kHz dev.
3kHz ➞ 3.4 ±0.6kHz dev.
d) Tx DATA .... After Tx ModulationAlignment. Push “TALK” key.
Check the read of linear detector 5.0 ±1.0kHz dev.

Unit Condition
a) Push ‘Redial’ key to select Rx CH 6. TheTx frequency is 49.830MHz and Rx one is 30.200MHz.
b) Disconnect linear detector from ANTENNAtest pin and connect FM SSG (1kHz Mod., 3.0kHz dev., 30.200MHz, 46dBµV) to
ANTENNA test pin.
c) ConnectAFVM and distortion meter in parallel and terminate a 150 Ωdummy load across the speaker terminal.

d) Rx IF .... Align T351 to obtain maximum deflection and minimum distortion atAFVM and distortion meter
respectively. (SP OUT: Max)
e) Rx AF Level .... Align VR351 to obtain 40 ±5mV Speaker output atAFVM at Volume Normal.
Confirm the speaker output is 40 ~ 80mV. (FM SSG: 300Hz mod, 46dBµV)
Confirm the speaker output is 5.3 ~ 10.5mV. (FM SSG: 3kHz mod, 46dBµV)
Push “MEMORY” key to change volume to High.
Confirm speaker output at 1kHz is 55 ~ 115mV.
f) Rx RF .... Reduce the output level of FM SSG from 46dBµV ➞+5dBµV.
Align T151 & T152 to obtain minimum distortion.
Confirm the distortion is less than 10% (SINAD 20dB) at the distortion meter.
(FM SSG: 1kHz mod, 3.0kHz dev., 30.200MHz)
g) CD Level Check .... Connect OSCILLOSCOPE to CD OUT (IC 001 pin 24).
Push “END” key to off Tx Power. (CAUTION: SP Output is muted.)
Confirm CD level is High ➞Low when FM SSG is 0 ➞+24dBµV.
Confirm CD level is High when FM SSG is 0 ➞+2dBµV.
h) Batt. Low .... Connect DC Voltmeter to Batt. Low Detect (IC 001 pin 44).
Confirm the Batt. Low output of pin 44 (IC 001) is High level when DC Power Supply is 3.55V.
Confirm the Batt. Low output of pin 44 (IC 001) is Low level when DC Power Supply is 3.05V.

a) Press “✱”key, the channel will turn to CH 4. Confirm that the frequency is 30.1500MHz.
b) Slide S401 to “RINGER OFF”& S402 to “PULSE”, Rx MUTE will be ON.
Disconnect frequency counter from CN101, and connect RF voltmeter to CN101 (50 Ωprobe).
c) Tx POWER .... Adjust T203 so that the reading of RF voltmeter is 300 ±80mW.
T202 is a preset coil so no alignment is needed.
d) Tx MODULATION .... Connect linear detector to CN101.
Connect AF oscillator (1kHz, -20dBm) to TEL line.
Align VR601 to obtain 3.0kHz ±0.15kHz dev. from the read of linear detector. And confirm at theAF
oscillator to TEL line .
300Hz, -20dBm: the read of linear detector is 2.2kHz ±0.4kHz dev.
3kHz, -20dBm: the read of linear detector is 3.8kHz ±0.6kHz dev.
e) Tx DATA .... After Tx modulation alignment, press & hold “REDIAL”key (S493).
MODULATION While pushing “REDIAL”key, Tx DATAis sent.
Check the read of linear detector is 5.0kHz ±1.0kHz dev.

h) Align T103 (Rx) to obtain 1.5 ±0.1VDC reading from the digital voltmeter respectively.

Slide S401 to “RINGER ON”(Rx MUTE will be OFF) & S402 to “PULSE”.
e) Rx IF .... Align T301 to obtain maximum deflection and minimum distortion from the read ofAC voltmeter
and distortion meter respectively.
f) Rx RF .... Change output level of FM SSG from 46dBµV to 5dBµV.
Align T101 & T102 to obtain minimum distortion at the distortion meter (less than 10%).
g) Rx AF LEVEL .... Change output level of FM SSG from 5dBµV to 46dBµV.
Align VR301 to obtain -6dBm ±1dBm from the read of AC voltmeter, and confirm at the FM
SSG input of
300Hz (46dBµV): the output of ACVM -12dBm ±4dBm.
3kHz (46dBµV): the output of ACVM -18dBm ±4dBm.
h) CD Level Check
–Switch position S402 ➞TONE ( Tx “OFF”).
–Connect OSCILLOSCOPE to CD OUT.

HANDSET TEST MODE SPECIFICATION
1. Overview
By operating the keyboard SW on the remote unit, the pass or fail of the completion process can be determined through the
status of the LEDs, the sound of the key monitor, etc.
2. Start up
(A) Startup of the TESTMODE by the microcomputer ports.
(i) Before power ON, set to LOW P71 (2 pin).
(ii) INITIAL CHANNEL = 10 CH VCO adjustment
(B) Startup of the TESTMODE by operation of Power ON.
(When the TEST MODE begins, a beep is heard).
(i) The TEST MODE is started up by pressing “1”and “9”keys simultaneously at power on.
(ii) INITIAL CHANNEL = 10 CH VCO adjustment
(C)In case of TEST MODE in this way, there are several ways to change the normal mode.
(i) Detect charge.
(ii) Turn off the power, and turn on the power.
3. High frequency adjustment mode/Call circuit inspection mode
(A) High frequency adjustment channel

(F) Key monitor inspection mode
(i) Each time a key is pressed, the TALK LED lights and the key monitor sounds.
(ii) Keys are pressed disorderly, and if after all keys have been pressed, the TALK LED lights for approximately 0.5 sec.
and a beep is heard.
1. Start Up
(A) Start up of the Test mode by the microcomputer ports.
Before power ON, select the microcomputer ports : 36 pin (high or low), 59 pin -53 pin (short or open),
62 pin - 54 pin (short or open).
(B) Start up of the TEST MODE by operation of power ON
(i) Continue pressing ‘PAGE/INT”key.
(ii) Supply the power keeping “(a)”.
(iii) Set the TONE/PULSE switch to PULSE.
(iv) Set the TONE/PULSE switch toTONE.
(v) Release “PAGE/INT”key.
Test mode will be Handset Call Status. (Channel ➞10 CH)
In case of Test mode in this way, there are several ways to change the usual mode.
(i) Detect charge.
(ii) Turn OFF the power
2. The states of test mode
(A) Change state, press “#”key and then press numeric key (1 or 2 or 3).
For example: Intercom Call ➞“#”, “3”.
Or each time you press the “SPEAKER”key, the state No. is increased.

(iii) Intercom Call ✱ Rx MUTE is ON. While “REDIAL/P”key is pressed, Tx DATA turns ON and INTERCOM &
Tx MUTE turns ON. SPEAKER
While an incoming call is detected, CHARGE/IN USE LED blinks and “RING”
is heard. (Set at TONE mode)
* NOTE: INTERCOM SPEAKERPHONE measurement is not possible at this lest mode.

BASE STATION TEST MODE SPECIFICATION
Method to measure the INTERCOM SPEAKERPHONE:
(i) Connect three jigs switch (S001, S002 & S003) as according to the Drawing shown.
(ii) Set the unit to test mode by short pin 36 to ground.
(iii) Switch S001 so that the base of Q710 is connected to ground.
(iv) Switch S002 so that the pin 1 of IC703 (speaker amp IC) is connected to ground.
(v) Switch S003 so that pin 10 of IC706 (speakerphone IC) to ground
(vi) After power on toggle the switch to short pin 62 & pin 54 (FLASH key) for select CH 6.
(vii) Connect SSG (1.5kHz dev., 46dB, 49.830MHz), signal C1kHz, 300Hz, 3kHz) to CN101.
(viii) Measure the output at speaker terminal with 16 ohm load.
(vx) After finished measurement disconnect the jig switch from the pwb assembly.
NOTE: Ringer switch must be at ON position.

5. Setting of PLL Channel.
(Tx and Rx are the same number of channel).
(i) Increment of PLL channel.
➞Press the “PAGE/INT”key.
(ii) Setting of PLL channel.

(iii) Set to 6 CH ➞Press “FLASH”key. (While “FLASH”is pressed, Rx MUTE ➞ON).
(iv) Set to 4 CH ➞Press “✱”key.
6. Others
(A) Detection of Charge
When the charge is detected, the CHARGE/IN USE LED lights up.
In the case of the Test mode by operation of Power ON ➞When the charge is detected, the mode change to the Usual
Mode from the Test Mode.
(B) Key Monitor Detection
Press any key, then “Key Monitor”beep is heard.
