Thank you for purchasing our SatFi automatic satellite dome.
GENERAL
SatFi satellite domes are designed to be used for receiving and watching satellite
TV and radio broadcastson caravans, motorhomes, RV's, narrowboats,
passenger coaches, minibuses, trucks and lorries.
IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Do not open the cover of the unit. No user-serviceable parts are inside. Opening the
covers voids the guarantee of the antenna. Refer to an authorized dealer/installer
service center. Installation of the system should be done by authorized dealer/
installer. Installation made by an unauthorized person cancels the guarantee.
Do not connect any unapproved equipment as this can potentially damage the antenna
and could void the guarantee.
Please be aware once the antenna is installed ensure you allow for the additional height
on the vehicle. Make sure that this height will not cause any risk while moving the
vehicle. It is very important to be aware of this height of the vehicle and antenna position
when driving down narrow lanes or road.
Once installed it is the owners responability to ensure the safety of the antenna.
BEFORE STARTING THE INSTALLATION
When choosing the installation placement of the antenna please make sure that there
are no physical solid obstacles ie air conditioning units, roof bars or any other solid
object around the antenna that could prevent it from tracking a satellite.
Ensure during installation on the roof surface that it should be clean, smooth and if
possible on the centerline according to the vehicle width.
If installing on a curved roof (narrowboat) its important that additional wedges are
made/used for supporting the mounting feet. Otherwise, there will be at difference in
levels between the front/rear and side feet and the antenna dome base could bend
and potentially damage the antenna.
Make sure that the installation roof surface is rigid and strong enough to support the
weight of the antenna and not flex.
The RF cable connector of the antenna should be facing the rear side of the antenna
according to the moving direction of the vehicle. In this position, the physical effects like
rain and wind will be at the minimum level.
Before starting the installing of the antenna, make sure that the surface is dry and clean,
on which the antenna will be mounted.

TOOL LIST
Rechargeable drill/driver
Silicone gun
Screwdriver bit
8mm drill bit
Cable ties
Multimeter
Side cutters
Roundnose pliers
RG6 RF cable
De-greasing alcohol
Cleaning cloth
11mm wrench
Twin core 12VDC cable
MECHANICAL INSTALLATION
1. Take out the SatFi antenna from the packing box and visually check for any in-transit
damage for installing.
2. The installation place should be clean and dry. If required, clean the mounting
surface with soapy water and dry with a cloth. After that the mounting surface is
cleaned ensure the are is grease free by using a De-greasing alcohol.
3. It is very important to install the SatFi antenna on the top of the vehicle to the most
convenient place. The mounting place of the antenna on the vehicle should be flat,
not worn or weathered and far away from the physical obstacles like air conditioner
or ventilation parts of the vehicle.

SatFi Antenna installation may be done in two different ways.
I. Installation on the vehicle roof
1. SatFi antenna is carried to the top of the vehicle carefully whenever possible
remaining horizontal. The SatFi antenna should be placed on the most convenient
area on the top of the vehicle. RF connections should be directed to the rear of the
vehicle.
Caution: Installation which is made without using wedges/spacers on irregular
curved surfaces may cause bending of the antenna base. This may effect the
operation of the equipment and could cause permanent damage.

2. If surface of the vehicle is curved, left and right side feet of the antenna are not
in contact with the roof surface. In such cases wedges/spacers in the proper width
should be used to fill the gaps.
3. 4 pieces of 3.9x32 stainless screws and M5 washers that are included with the antenna.
Using the screws with washers should be screwed loosely into the side feet of the
antenna leaving sufficient space. The silicon is applied between the side feet and
the base and to around the side plates and the bottom of the equipment. After that
half tightened screws are tightened firmly without leaving space and the antenna
fastened. Finally, the side plates are covered with silicon without covering the
screws.

II. Installation on the vehicle roof
1. Ensure sufficient space for the installation holes and use only A2/A4 stainless steel
self screws for fixing antenna feet onto the vehicle roof. We strongly recommend using
branded polyurethane adhesive sealant ie Sikaflex 291 or equivelent.
NOTE: Dimensions are in millimeters

ELECTRICAL INSTALLATION
1. Always use the supplied RF cable when installing a SatFi antenna or equivelent high
specifcation RG6 cable, the antenna cable should be no longer than 15 meters.
Connectors with the plastic moisture guard are for connection onto the antenna unit.
Using a 11mm spanner slightly tighten RF connections. Pass the terminated cable ends
throught the roof gland. Drill a suitable hole through the roof and pass the cables into
the inside of the vehicle, seal the hole and fix roof gland with sealant.
2. 12-24V DC supply voltage should be taken from a suitable source we recommend
when possible a direct to battery connection. The SatFi control box requires
12-24V fused DC supply voltage using 2x0.75mm2twin core cable.
3. The antenna cable that comes from the SatFi Antenna, is connected to the input of
the Control Box via F connector.
4. If satellite receiver is available, the connection between control box and satellite
receiver is made with loop out cable. Please ensure any satellite receiver equipment
is secured for vehicle movement and sufficient air gaps are left to prevent overheating
in confined spaces.

CONNECTION DIAGRAM
OPERATING OF THE SYSTEM
1. Switch on the control Box via the panel mounted rocker switch the LED's
should briefly light up. Now push the control panel standby button. Select
required satellite using UP/DOWN keys. You should hear the antenna moving.
2. The control panel LED's will flash slowly during the search process once the selected
satellite has been found they will flash rapidly during optimizing of signal.
3. When satellite signal is fully optimized and identified as the correct satellite control
panel LED's will remain on. You can now enjoy satellite TV.
4. If you require you can select another satellite using the UP/DOWN keys.
5. Antenna must remain powered to provide continuous satellite TV
6. When you're ready to drive off either press standby button on the control panel or
control box ON/OFF switch.
