2.5. Installation Location
The components of the Savant Power Storage 20 shall be installed in a location that is suitable for use. Installing the system in a manner inconsistent
with the guidance given below may void system warranty. The following items should be considered when installing the Savant Power Storage 20:
–The Savant Power Storage 20 is built with NEMA 4X enclosure, enabling outdoor install locations. Choose an installation area where ambient
temperature remains between 32°F to 114°F (0°C to 46°C) and out of direct sunlight. Exposing the system to temperatures outside of this range
can negatively impact the longevity of the equipment and will void the warranty.
–Choose a flat, horizontal foundation against a wall without potential exposure to overhead water sources, snow accumulation or flooding.
IMPORTANT! Concrete anchors are included with each system to allow the system to be secured to the foundation.
–Reserve enough space for maintenance requirement for each side of the unit.
–Ensure enough clearance around the system and space between multiple Savant Power Storage 20 units to correspond with National Electric
Code (NEC) and local requirements.

3.7.2 AC Coupled Solar Wiring
The Savant Power Storage 20 enables easy integration of a grid tied solar installation to enable continued solar production in a grid down scenario. It
is recommended to use a UL 1741SA compliant inverter when AC coupling into the Savant Power Storage 20.
CAUTION! Do not interconnect a generator to a system that is installed with AC Coupled solar attached as it can lead to damage to the
generator and inverter!
1. Land the output of the AC coupled solar inverter into the GEN input of the inverter or into the backed-up load center.
NOTE: The PS-INV-12.5KW-60A-XX model will only support AC coupling into the backed-up load center whereas the PS-INV-12.5KW-100A-XX
can support either location
NOTE: Paralleled systems should only have AC coupling into the GEN input of the inverter.
2. Use the Savant Power Storage app to program the parameters of the AC coupled system.

3.8. Parallel Systems
The Savant Power Storage 20 can support multi-unit installs with all units operating in parallel to increase the available power and storage for a
single site installation. The Appendix provides single line diagrams giving a high level overview of parallel system configuration.
NOTE: Systems with a model number ending in ‘NS’ do not support parallel configuration. Please contact Savant support for more information.
1. Wire internal components for all units in system in alignment with section 3.3.
2. Wire DC coupled solar to each unit independently.
NOTE: It is recommended to balance solar input across the systems used in a parallel configuration for optimal performance.
3. Combine the Load Output of all units at a single location before landing in the backed-up loads panel.
4. Connect CAT5 or CAT6 cable between the external RJ45 ports marked ‘Parallel’ between each inverter in the system.
NOTE: External Parallel ports are equivalent and can be used interchangeably.
5. Install the included resistors in the first and last system of the parallel install. Make sure to tighten the RJ45 port where resistors are installed.
6. Assign one of the units in the system as the “Leader” of the system. Additional systems will be designated as “Followers”.
7. Wire all optional accessories (generator auto-start, E-Stop Button, etc) to the Leader of each parallel installation. See more about accessories in
section 3.8.
