This document provide an easy way to program the decoding options and interface
selections by scanning barcodes listed in this guide.
Introduction

Important Notice
When printing barcodes for programming, the use of a high-resolution laser printer is
strongly recommended for the best scan result.
The settings will be updated periodically without prior notice. For the latest version, please
contact your authorized distributor.
Settings and Programming
Scan a series of selected barcode patches in this manual to aect setup and programming
of your handheld CCD barcode scanner. Decoding options and interface protocols can be
tailored to a specic application.
Setup parameters are stored in non-volatile memory in the scanner and are retained even
when power is o. Setup parameters change only when you reset them.
You may need to hide adjacent code patches with your hand when doing programming
scanning.

Limited Warranty
Saveo Scan provides a one year limited warranty.
This warranty does not cover any product which has been subject to improper use,
neglect or unauthorized repair or installation.
This warranty does not cover consumable parts. (Cables & batteries are consumables.)
* Don’t put scanner in places of excessively high temperature, such as exposure to
direct sunlight
* Don’t use scanner in extremely humid conditions or in conditions of extreme
temperature change
* The rechargeable battery is permanently built into the product and cannot be
replaced.
* Never damage the rechargeable battery. Damaging the casing of the rechargeable
battery might cause explosion or re!

Switch on and Charge your Scanner
Please charge your scanner for 3~4 hours before rst use. Remove the protective cover
and connect the mini-USB cable to the port on the underside of the scanner and to a
mains powered USB charger.

LED Indicator Information
Please Note: When the battery power is too low, the Orange LED will ash and the scanner
will emit a ‘beep’ at regular intervals. The scanner should be charged immediately. If
scanner shuts down it is recommended to charge it fully then power it back on.
Please Note: When the scanner is in sleep mode there will be no LED indication when
charging.

Connecting to iOS via Bluetooth
Getting Started
Enable Bluetooth on your device
Go to your phone’s homescreen and nd “Settings”, then “Bluetooth” and turn
Bluetooth on.
Scan Bluetooth Prole barcodes below in order (B1 -> B2)
After you scan the Bluetooth prole barcodes, your scanner will become visible to
Bluetooth enabled devices within range.
Please note: The scanner should only be paired to one device at a time. Before you pair
your scanner to another device, please rst unpair it from the device in use. Otherwise it
will appear on your list of “Available Devices” but may not connect. In this case, please
refer to Unpairing your device in this manual.

Search for devices
Your phone will automatically search for devices, Saveo Scan will appear as an external
keyboard with a unique identier number (R-xxxxxx).
Select R-xxxxxx to connect
Select scanner from “Available
Devices” and wait for pairing process
to complete.
Devices are now paired
Once “Connected” is displayed, your
device is paired to the scanner. Your
scanner is now ready to use.
Please Note: Devices only need to be paired
once. When they are within Bluetooth range
they will automatically attempt to connect
to each other. If you wish to connect to
another device it is recommended you rst
unpair this device. Please refer to Unpairing
your device in this guide.
You are now connected. Start scanning.

“Bluetooth” and turn Bluetooth on.

Using the scanner to unpair
To unpair using the scanner, press
and hold the left button (as
illustrated) for 3-4 seconds. You will
hear a notication sound and the LED
will turn red to indicate it is not
paired to any device.
Unpairing on your device
Go to the Bluetooth menu on your
phone and select the option menu
for scanner from list of paired
devices.
Choose “Forget this
Device”/”Unpair”.
Please note: The scanner should only be paired to one device at a time. Before you pair
your scanner to another device, please rst unpair it from the device in use. Otherwise it
will appear on your list of “Available Devices” but may not connect.

Data Transmission Mode (Default)
Our Default setting is Data Transmission Mode. In this mode data will be sent to
smartphone/tablet directly.
To enter Data Transmission Mode scan the barcodes below in order
(C1 -> C2).

Scan Transmit Memory Data to receive data stored on scanner’s internal memory.

Power Saving Mode
Power saving mode is enabled by default and will put the scanner to sleep after one
minutes inactivity. To wake the scanner press the trigger.
Below are the barcodes to change the power saving mode.

Sound Settings
Scan the barcodes to select whether or not the decoder issues a ‘beep’ tone after a good
decode. If selecting Disable, beeper signals are issued during parameter menu scanning
and to indicate errors.

Reading Mode
The default reading mode is Single Scan. To activate the scanner automatically scan
Presentation Mode: Full Auto Mode below.
Single Scan - In this mode the scanner attempts to decode when the scan button is
pressed. Scan barcodes in sequence (H1 - H3)

Presentation Mode: Full Auto Mode - When the scanner detects an object in
its eld of view it triggers and attempts to decode. Scan barcodes in order (J1 - J3)

Transmission Speed
Transmission speed is dependent on your device. In order not to lose data please
choose the correct speed. Mid Speed is the default.
