SAVI M4 Controller
Conduit to M4
1. To prevent electrocution and/or death make sure power is off at the breaker.
2. Avoid touching/installing the M4 controller box during electrical storms. Death
or serious injury may result due to lightning surges through the system.
3. Be sure to check local electrical codes for grounding electrical boxes via
the approved method (internal conduit ground, external box ground wire to
grounding rod, etc.)
4. Use approved conduit routed by approved methods to conduit fittings on the
box.
5. For DMX based units, do not install data cables in the same conduit as power
cables to prevent communication problems.
6. Be sure the mounting surface is able to support the load of the controller. Use all
four mounting holes to secure the controller.
7. There are no customer serviceable components inside the M4 controller. Only
qualified electricians should open the box for installation of the power and LED
accessories connections. All connections should enter through an approved
conduit method.
8. LED accessories are low voltage and should never be electrically connected
to any power source other than the appropriate M4 controller connector (J5 to
J8). Wires must be connected properly to avoid permanently damaging the LED
accessory.

DESIGNER LENS SERIES OPTION:
Savi Pool & Spa has created a unique set of options for our LED Series of lights - designer lens. Each one has
the ability to create fantastic lighting effects within the pools interior. No other company can offer these lighting
effects. These are so unique that we have a Patent Pending on this series. Look below and see if any one fits
into your pool environment. Keep in mind that these lenses can be added on to any of our 2013 LED Lights -
even if they have already been installed.
HALF DOME - This escutcheon adds over the existing lens to allow you to
direct 1/2 the light in a direction you want. Downwards-to light a pools
interior without light shining upwards. Upwards to light a waterfeature or
sideways to put light where it might be needed but no where else
HALO LENS - This lens allows for gentle lighting in an area but knocks down
the center beam. This allows for installation on walls, etc where there might be
an opposite wall, etc where you want to eliminate generating a "hot" spot.
Great general lighting but softly.
SPOT LENS - Just the opposite of the Halo whereas we knock down the general
lighting and focus more of the light forwards. Great for illuminating that special
feature.
CATS EYE - This lens reduces the light eminating but for just a "slice" of light
that is broad but thin. An incredible effect for illuminating but without spilling
light all over.
DIAMOND - WOW want to really create something special? The Diamond lens
creates incredible points of light throughout the interior. The points will be
different the farther away from the light they are. Put the LED colored light on
DANCE PARTY MODE AND WATCH THE FUN BEGIN!

M4 CONTROLLERS - The Savi Note can be hooked into 1 of 3 different M4 Controllers. SA - allows the
Savi Notes to operate and Synchronize with other Savi Pool LED lights such as the Savi Melody and or - with
our Savi X-Stream Color LED drivers which will allow for waterfeature lighting to match the Savi Note lights.
RB - stands for M4 Rainbow Controller which has all the basic LED color lighting features as the SA but adds
exciting additional color lighting effects such as Rainbow - which allows individual color lights such as BLUE to
literally look like it is moving from 1 light to another or in effect creates a "chasing" effect. There are multiple
preprogrammed rainbow features built into this controller.
DMX - DMX alllows for the ulitmate in color lighting control. With this M4 controller you can program any lighting
show, any lighting sequence - in fact any color or colors you want. Design your own custom light show.

ALL LIGHTS FAIL TO ILLUMINATE - Check 120V power supply into M4 controller - check or
reset GFCI. For further voltage checks - please refer to M4 Guide for specific testing procedures.
ONE OR MORE LIGHTS DIM - This is generally caused by a poor connection or improper wire
gauge. IF A JUNCTION BOX IS BEING USED (not recommended) - VERIFY THAT THE CORRECT WIRE
GAUGE IS BEING USED BETWEEN M4 AND JUNCTION BOX. Typically though the problem is located
in either the M4 or a poor connection between M4 and cord from light.
BLINKING, FLASHING, NON WORKING LIGHTS - This is generally caused by a poor
connection or improper wire gauge. IF A JUNCTION BOX IS BEING USED (not recommended) -
VERIFY THAT THE CORRECT WIRE GAUGE IS BEING USED BETWEEN M4 AND JUNCTION BOX.
Typically though the problem is located in either the M4 or a poor connection between M4 and cord
from light.
2013 SAVI LED LIGHTING PRODUCTS
COLORED LIGHTS OUT OF SYNCH - Follow Synchronization Instructions in this Guide. Be very
patient and read instruction carefully. If lights fail to synchronize - verify that proper wire
connections are being achieved for those lights that are out of step with others. Generally a lights
failure to sync with the rest is: improper voltage supply or poor connection to light.
NOTE: In most situations problems come down to main faults: improper voltage supply,
improper wiring gauge,improper/poor wiring connections, internal to M4 or the light itself.
2013 SAVI LED LIGHTS ARE FIELD SERVICABLE AND THE CORD AND LIGHT BODY
FIXTURE SHOULD NOT BE REMOVED COMPETELY FROM THE CONDUIT OR POOL. THERE SHOULD

ENOUGH CORD IN SERVICE LOOP OR IT CANNOT BE ACCESSED - POOL WATER CAN BE DRAINED
BELOW LIGHT TO ACCESS FRONT OF LIGHT.
DO NOT PULL LIGHT AND CORD ENTIRELY FROM CONDUIT UNLESS INSTRUCTED BY COMPANY.
SAVI POOL AND SPA WILL NOT ACCEPT ENTIRE LIGHTS BEING RETURNED FOR SERVICE
