ring operation. It may only be put back into ope
ration after the cause of the fault has been recti
fied (e. g. soiling, damage, uneven tool
equipping).
1. If necessary, feed in water onto surfaces that
are to be ground wet.
2. When the drive motor has not yet reached its
operating temperature:
—Move choke lever [16, Fig. /Ea] upwards.
The drive motor may only be started if the
throttle lever is in
Start (idle)
position!
3. Setthrottlelever[2,Fig.G]to
Start (idle)
posi
tion.
4. If necessary, insert the safety peg [21, Fig. F] all
the way into the safety switch [20, Fig. F].
5. Hold the machine by the guide handle
[1,Fig.A]and start the drive motor:
—Slightly pull the starter cord handle
[11, Fig. A] until resistance can be felt.
—Firmly pull the starter cord handle all the
way and guide it back slowly
(!HONDA GXV 340 operating instruc
tions).
6. When the drive motor is running:
—Move choke lever [16, Fig. /Ea] down
wards.
The drive motor is idling.
The grinding plate [13, Fig. C] does not rotate.
The centrifugal clutch will only drive the grinding
plate once the throttle lever has been moved
into the
Operation
area.
7. The operator should sling the safety
line [22, Fig. F] around their wrist so that if the
operator goes away from the guide handle, it is
assured that the safety peg will be separated
from the safety switch (!Fig. F).
8. Move choke lever [16, Fig. E/b] downwards.
9. Move the throttle lever [2, Fig. G] into the
Ope
ration
area.
The grinding plate rotates. The surface to be
ground can now be machined.
The guide (option) [26, Fig. K] makes it easier to
run the machine in a straight line for removing
road markings.
3.3 Switching the machine off
Risk of injury from grinding plate still rotating
after the machine is switched off!
Only switch off the machine with the ETX dia
mond tools resting on the floor.
Otherwise, the grinding plate can continue to
rotate in idle (run-on) for several seconds after
switch-off!
Risk of injury from uncontrolled movement of the
machine!
The guide handle may not be released until the
drive motor and all rotating parts have come to a
standstill!
1. Hold the machine by the guide handle.
2. Setthrottlelever[2,Fig.G]to
Off
position.
3. Wait until the drive motor and the grinding plate
have come to a standstill.
The machine is switched off.
Danger of injury from hot machine parts!
Before touching:
— Let machine cool down (<40°C).
4. For transport or shut-down of the machine:
Turn fuel valve [24, Fig. G] to
OFF
position.
4 Maintenance
4.1 Customer service and spare parts
In case of customer service queries, replacement
parts or repairs, please contact the manufacturer. To
ensure your queries are dealt with as quickly as pos
sible, always quote your machine data. These are
located on the machine’s nameplate.
Observe the safety instructions in Chapter 2!
Danger of injury from hot machine parts!
Before touching:
— Let machine cool down (<40°C).
The operating and maintenance personnel resp
onsible for the machine must ensure that no one
can enter the machine’s danger zone during
operation or maintenance work!
Maintenance work may only be performed by
trained specialists! They must be familiar with
the dangers associated with such work, protect
themselves and avoid danger!
Maintenance must be conducted as described in
the operating instructions!
When working on the machine (machine set-up,
maintenance, repairs, cleaning, etc.), it must be
ensured that the drive motor is switched off and
cannot be started (close fuel valve)!
Perform cleaning and maintenance work in ac
cordance with the operating instructions
(Schwamborn / HONDA) and check the safety
equipment for completeness and functionality!
