REMOVAL OF UPRIGHT BIKE
1. Remove display board (4) screws.
2. Remove (4) screws inside holding the plastic console to the bike.
3. Remove the handle bars (2) bolts per side. Or loosen the (2) 3/16 allen head screws and slide the handle bars out.
4. Remove left and right crank arms with a cotterless crank arm puller.
5. Remove plastic seat adjustment handle.
6. Pull seat post out by using a screw driver to pry the seat adjustment up.
7. Remove the (6) hood screws at the bottom of the hood.
8. To remove the hood use 2 flat screwdrivers place them in the holes were the crank arms protrude from and pry them
apart, pulling up the hood at the same time.
9. Pull the bottom of the hood apart and pull the hood up.
10. Replace in reverse order.
1. Heart Rate is located inside the upper control box.

REMOVAL OF RECUMBENT HOOD
1. Remove cup holder and heartrate pickup.
2. Remove upper control panel.
3. Remove ribbon cable and the heartrate pickup from the handlebar holder.
4. Loosen the (4) bolts holding the handlebar in, and then pull the handlebar out.
5. Remove the and lower seat pad only.
6. Remove (6) 3/16” allen screws. Remove (6) 5/16”x 1/2” bolts, and plastic handle.
7. Remove the (6) hood screws at the bottom of the cover.
8. Remove the left and right pedal arms with a cotterless crank arm puller. Then using 2 flat screwdrivers place them
in the holes were the crank arms protrude from and pry them apart, pulling up the hood at the same time.
9. Pull the top slit apart and pull up to remove the hood.
10. Install in reverse order.

1. Recumbent Heart Rate is located behind the cup holder.
REPLACE BRAKE ID5500 OR ID5500R
1. Remove hood as shown in page 5 and 6.
2. Remove (2) 5/16 nuts that hold the brake in place.
3. Push brake towards the big pulley to loosen the belt and remove it.
4. Cut the (2) red wires on the brake.
5. Pull the brake up and out.
6. Replace in reverse order.
7. Tension on the htd belt should be snug. The poly V belt should 1/4” deflection at 10lbs of pull, or 80 lbs of
tension.
CHECK OR REPLACE FUSE
1. This is located under the bike where the power cord connects.
2. Pull out the slot in the bottom of the power supply holder.
3. The fuse is a 15 amp. 5x20mm part#333942224.
REMOVAL OF LOWER POWER SUPPLY FOR UPRIGHT AND RECUMBENT
1. Turn the bike on its side and remove the (6) screws that hold the power supply plate.
2. Be careful when pulling down the power supply because of the plastic ties and brake
wires.
3. Cut all the plastic ties and unplug the ribbon cable and also the (2) red wires going to
the brake.
4. Remove the complete assembly.
CHECK THE RPM AND SPEED SENSOR
1. With bike scolling SCIFIT SOLUTIONS across the display .

2. Pedal the bike and look at the RPM LED’s .
3. The RPM should be counting up the faster you pedal the bike(at least 150 RPMs).
4. If you have no read out, on the upright move the lower board around until the upper board receives the
signal. On the recumbent stand the bike on it’s nose then look in side the bike for the silver and black tape which
islocated on the flywheel. The speed sensor will be placed right under the brake, just move the sensor forward or
backwards until the speed picks up.
5. If you never get a signal, the speed sensor needs replacement.
HOW TO REPLACE EPROM
1. Unplug machine.
2. Remove four screws that hold upper board in casing.
3. Unplug ribbon cable and heartrate monitor.
4. Remove 4 or 5 hex standoffs from the display board fig.1 (A)
5. Turn display board over and remove EPROM fig. 1 (B),
and replace with new EPROM with the notch in the same direction.
6. Reverse order to assemble.

TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE
ID 5500 & ID 5500R
A. MACHINE DOES NOT POWER UP.
1. POWER CORD UNPLUGGED OR NO POWER AT OUTLET.
2. BLOWN FUSE. REPLACE FUSES (SEE PAGE 7 )
3. RIBBON CABLE HAS A BAD CONNECTION OR IS NOT FULLY
PLUGGED IN. REMOVE THE CONNECTIONS AT THE UPPER
AND LOWER BOARDS, AND INSERT BACK INTO THE SOCKET.
B. NO BRAKING OR RESISTANCE ON THE BIKE.
1. NO RPM SIGNAL. CHECK RPM READOUT ON DISPLAY, ADJUST
THE SPEED SENSOR ACCORDINGLY.
2. RED WIRES GOING TO THE BRAKE ARE DISCONNECTED. CHECK
THE VOLTAGE AT THE RED WIRES 12V DC.
3. WRONG DIP SWITCH SETTING O UPPER DISPLAY( ALL SWITCHES
OFF).
4. SEE PAGE 7 FOR ADJUSTING SPEED SENSOR.
C. BELT SLIPPING ON THE BIKE.
1. CHECK THE TENSION ON THE HTD OR POLY-V BELT, TIGHTEN
ACCORDINGLY. 1/4” DEFLECTION AT 10 LBS. OF PULL.

D. BEARING NOISE INSIDE THE BIKE.
1. BEARING ARE LOCATED ON THE OUTSIDE OF EACH SHAFT.
LISTEN TO EACH BEARING AND REPLACE ACCORDINGLY.
2. BEARING ARE LOCATED INSIDE THE MAGNETIC BRAKE.
E. SEAT ON UPRIGHT WILL NOT STAY UP.
1. THE PLASTIC LIFT TO ADJUST HANDLE MUST NOT HIT THE HOOD
WHEN IN THE DOWN POSITION.
2. REMOVE 1/4” OF HOOD MATERIAL FROM UNDERNEATH THE
PLASTIC HANDLE.
F. CAN NOT MOVE PEDALS ON THE BIKE.
1. CHECK DISPLAY FOR CORRECT DIP SWITCH SETTINGS.
a. HOW TO CHECK THIS READOUT IS TO UNPLUG THE
MACHINE AND THEN PLUG IT BACK IN AND LOOK AT
THE FIRST LED’S ON THE LEFT (TIME WINDOW).
b. BIKE DISPLAY’S #00
G. HEART RATE DISPLAYS ZERO.
1. THE CHEST STRAP AND TRANSMITTER MUST BE PROPERLY WORN
2. VERIFY THAT THERE IS GOOD SKIN CONTACT WITH THE
TRANSMITTER UNIT AND IS FUNCTIONING PROPERLY.
3. CHECK SENSOR LEAD CONNECTION AT THE UPPER BOARD
4. IF NO AUDIBLE SIGNAL, REPLACE RECEIVER.
