CHARGING THE iPod
CHARGING FOR PREMIUM CABLE
The interface automatically charges the battery of the iPod when connecte d. Most ve-
hicles turn
off ACC power when the key is in the OFF pos it ion and the iPod wi ll stop
playing and charging. However, in some veh icles the ACC power is always on and the
iPod should be disconnected
to prevent draining the vehicles battery.

FM FREQUENCY SETTING
The frequency selector switch is located on the interface unit and is used to set the
optimal transmitting frequency. Incorrect dip switch settings may cause the IPFMRDS
interface
no t to work properly or not to operate at al l. Disconnect the vehicle harness
from module a
nd cycle ign it ion off fo r 5 seconds after changing the switche s! After
making changes
to the frequency selector be sure to tune to the correct FM frequency
on which the iPod wi
ll be heard.

INSTALLATION
Installation should onlybe performed byaqualified professional. Beware ofsharp edges
to avoid injury and exercise caution when removing trims as they may break.The inter-
face unitshould beplaced at an accessible location, such as in the glovebox, the center
console or under the front seat.
1. Make sure that the radio code is available before disconnecting battery. (applies
toAnti-theft radios only). Disconnect Negative battery terminal.
2. Remove the radio. Call Scosche Tech support ifyou need assistance with radio
removal: [phone] Ext. 3.
3. Access the antenna connections at the back of the radio. Unplug the Factory
antenna cable and connect to the "Female"Antenna "IN" cable of the IPFMRDS.
NOTE: Some vehides do not have standard antenna connections and require the
use of Male/FemaleAntenna adapters. Adapters are sold separately. Consult
Tech support if your antenna connection differs from the IPFMRDS plugs.
4. Connect the "Male" Antenna "OUT' cable coming from the IPFMRDS to your radio's
antenna location.
5. Connect the Power, Ignition and Ground wires of the IPFMRDS power cable. Call
Tech Support if you need assistance with Factory wires colors and/or locations.

5. Verify that all connections have been properly made.
6. Reconnect the car's battery. Test the unit before seating the cables and reinstalling
the panels/trim.

FM-RDS FOR iPod
Select the FM radio source on the radio and t une to the frequency that was selected
on the interface unit. As soon as the radio is tuned to the appropriate frequency, audio
from t he iPod will be heard.

Radios wit h RDS capab il ity all ow the currently playing song title and art i st name to be
disp layed on the screen of the radio. To find out if a radio has RDS, tune to a popular
radio station and if the station name is displayed then the radio has RDS capab il ity .
