CHARGING
THE

The interface automatically charges the battery of the iPod when connecte

off
ACC power when the key is in the OFF pos

ion and the iPod wi

playing and charging. However, in some
veh
icles the ACC power is always on and the
iPod should be disconnected
to
prevent draining the vehicles battery.

FREQUENCY SETTING
The frequency selector switch is located on the interface unit and is used
to
set the
optimal transmitting frequency. Incorrect dip switch settings may cause the IPFMRDS
interface
no
t
to
work properly
or
not
to
operate
at
al
l.

INSTALLATION
Installation should onlybe performed byaqualified professional. Beware ofsharp edges
to avoid injury and exercise caution when removing trims as they may break.The inter-
face unitshould beplaced at
an
accessible location, such as
in
the glovebox, the center
console
or
under the front seat.
1. Make sure that the radio code is available before disconnecting battery. (applies
toAnti-theft radios only). Disconnect Negative battery terminal.
2. Remove the radio. Call Scosche Tech support ifyou need assistance with radio
removal: (800) 621-3695 Ext. 3.
3. Access the antenna connections
at
the back
of
the radio. Unplug the Factory
antenna cable and connect to the "Female"Antenna "IN" cable
of
the IPFMRDS.
NOTE:
Some
vehides
do
not
have standard antenna connections and require the
use
of
Male/FemaleAntenna adapters. Adapters are sold separately. Consult
Tech support
if
your antenna connection differs from the IPFMRDS plugs.
4. Connect the "Male" Antenna
"OUT'
cable coming from the IPFMRDS to
your
radio's
antenna location.
5. Connect the Power, Ignition
and
Ground wires
of
the IPFMRDS power cable. Call
Tech Support
if
you need assistance with Factory wires colors and/or locations.

connections have been properly made.
6. Reconnect the car's battery. Test the unit before seating the cables and reinstalling
the panels/trim.

TROUBLESHOOTING
PROBLEM SOLUTION

FM
source on the
rad
io and
