1.0 Purpose To provide instruction for installing the Cosel power supply retrofit kit.
2.0 Scope This procedure is for the field support personnel who are replacing the power supply in the
DAC-2200.

5.1 LOTO requirements
5.1.1 Locate the shipboard breaker providing power to the DAC-2200
5.1.2 Lock Out and Tag Out this breaker.
5.1.3 Using a DVM ensure no power on the outlet side of the breaker.
5.1.4 Make sure you have been properly grounded with an EDS.
6.0 Cosel Power Supply Retrofit Installation Procedure
6.1 Removal of existing DAC-2200 equipment.
6.1.1 Unscrew face-plate screws and slide DAC 2200 out of rack
6.1.2 Take off existing connections from the back (AC POWER, RF IN, ANTENNA, M&C,
NMEA, SHIP GYRO)

6.1.3 Unscrew top cover and remove by removing nine 6-32 screws.
6.1.4 On the lower right hand corner next to the fan, there is a PC board. This is the PS that
will be replaced. The PS in the picture below has “TEST” written backwards on the fish
paper.

6.1.5 Remove the fish paper by unscrewing the screws in the stand-offs and remove the PS,
P/N 119668-7, by unscrewing the remaining 2 screws.
6.1.6 Unplug the red fan connection.
6.1.7 On the left side of the PS, as facing the DAC front panel, loosen the 2 screws with a
Philips screw driver so the red and black terminal spade connection becomes free.
These 2 double wires are apart of the AC/DC Y-cable and will be needed for installation
of the Cosel PS.

6.1.8 On the right side of the PS, as facing the DAC front panel, is a 2 pin connector, with
black and white wires that will be replaced.
6.1.9 Follow the single black and white wire to the power switch and pull the slip connection
of the cable assembly out, which are closer to the base of the unit.

6.2 Installation of the Cosel PS
6.2.1 Connect the slip connectors, of P/N 1226601, by pushing the black and white wires to
the power switch with the black wire on the right and the white wire on the left side of
the power switch, as facing the DAC back panel, like in step 6.1.9.
6.2.2 Connect the terminal spade, of P/N 1226601, ends to the power supply by having the
white wire going to “AC(N)” and the black wire going to “AC(L)”
6.2.2.1 The connection on the PS will need a Philips screw driver for installation.
6.2.3 Connect the red and black double wires, removed in step 6.1.7 into the PS “+V” and “-
V” respectively.

6.2.4 Screw the L-bracket, P/N 126568, to the left side of the Cosel PS using the provided
two M3 screws and washers in Bag A, as the PS connections facing away.
6.2.5 Screw down the PS using the provided 6-32 X 5/16” screws and lock washers with Bag
B.
6.2.6 Screw the Z-bracket, P/N 126569, to the DAC-2200 base.

6.2.7 Replace the DAC top cover and screw it in with the nine 6-32 screws removed in step
6.1.3.
6.2.8 Plug in the back connections with its corresponding connections as removed in step
6.1.2.
6.2.9 Push the DAC-2200 back into the rack and replace the screws removed in step 6.1.1 on
the face.
7.0 Powering Up and Test the System.
7.1.1 Remove the LOTO equipment installed section 5.1.
7.1.2 Power up the system.
7.1.3 Verify that the DAC-2200 powers up correctly.
