ThankyouforpurchasingaSeagotender,thismanualhasbeencompiledtohelpyoutooperateandmaintainyourinatabletender.
Pleasereadthismanualcarefullyandfamiliariseyourselfwiththeinatabletenderbeforeattemptingtoinateorusethetender.Ifyouareuncertainabout
theassemblyorsafeoperationofthistenderyoushouldseekprofessionaladvice.
Thisusermanualcontainsdetailsaboutyournewinatabletenderandtheequipmentsuppliedorttedtoit.Inadditionitcontainsinformationonits
operationandmaintenance.
Ifthisisyourrstinatableboat,oryouarechangingtoatypeofcraftyouarenotfamiliarwith,foryourowncomfortandsafety,pleaseensurethatyou
obtainhandlingandoperationexperiencebeforeassumingcommandoftheinatableboat.Yourdealerornationalsailingfederationofyachtclubwillbe

When operating the tender:
• Youmustberesponsibleifyouareusinganoutboardenginetoensurethatpollutantsdonotenterthewater.
• Becarefulnottoendangerswimmersoranyonearoundtheboat,particularlyifyouareusinganoutboardengine.
• Youshouldalwaysmoderateyourspeed,otherwisethiswillcausesignicantwashandwavesbehindthetender.
• Duringination,donotuseacompressedairsource(i.e.,automotivetyreaircompressor)toinatethetender.Overinationthroughtheuseof
compressedairmayresultininjuryandorrupturingthetenderseams.
• Iftted,makesurethattheoutboardengineisinneutralbeforestartingtheengine.Makesureyouinstalltheoutboardengineatthecorrectheightso
astopreventcavitation.(causetheproptobeabovethewaterline)however,installingittoolowmaycausetheproptosplashwaterintotheboat.
• Checknationalandlocalboatinginformationsuchastidetablesandchartsaswellassafetyandlocallawregulationsbeforeusingyourtender.
• Neverexceedtheweightcarryingcapacitystatedonthetender’sidenticationplate.
• Everypersoninthetendershouldalwayswearalifejacket(personalotationdeviceapprovedbylocallawagency)
• Oarsorpaddlesandarepairpartskitshouldalwaysbecarriedwiththetenderforemergencies
• Allloadsplacedinthetendershouldbeuniformlydistributedtoprovideproperboattrimwhenunderway.
• Donotsitonthesidetubes,topreventfallingoverboard.
• Checkweatherforecastsandlocalconditions.Alwaysbesureyouhaveenoughfueltoreachshelter.Advisesomeonewhereyouaregoing.
• Always start the engine at low speed setting.
• Beforeusingthetender,inatethetenderonedaypriortouseandcheckifthereisanysignofairleakage.
• Youmustprotectthetenderagainstexposuretothesun(UV)foranyextendedperiodsoftime;thismeansthetendershouldbecoveredbyasuitable
UVblockingcover.
• Overinationcancausestructuraldamagetoyourboat.Donotallowyourboattostandindirectsunlightwhenoutofthewater(evenwhencovered)as
thismaycauseoverpressuretothepointofdamageorbursting.

Overpressurisationiscausedbyincreasedtemperaturechangeoftheairwithinthetubesofthetender.
Topreventoverpressurisationyoushouldmonitorthepressureofthetubesduringthedaytomakesurethatthemaximumrecommendedpressureisnot
exceededatanypoint.Ifyouinatethetenderinearlymorningwhenthetemperatureiscoolerthetendertubeswillexpandasthedaygetshotter.
Store the tender in a cool and shaded area.
5Assembly
5.1 Air oor tender
• Findaatsurfacewhereboatcanbeassembled.
• Makesuretherearenosharpobjectsthatcanpuncturethetenderduringassembly.
• Unfoldandspreadthetenderoutat.
• Verifythevalve/capgasketisinplace.
• Makesurethevalvecoreisturnedtotheanti-clockwisepositiontopreventtheairfromescapingwhenyouconnectanddisconnectthepumphoseto
thetendervalvetting.Todeatethetenderpushthevalvecoreinandturn(1/4turn)inaclockwisedirectionthiswillallowyoutofullydeatethe
tenderwithoutthevalvebeingdepressedbyhand.Seediagramtooperatevalves.
• Dependingonthemodeloftenderyouhaveitmayhaveupto3chambers..
• Begininationtoamaximumof50%workingpressure,startatthebow,thenstarboardandnallytheport-side.Donotinateanyonechamberinfull
atatimeasthiscausesunnecessarystresstotheinsidebulkhead.Maintainabalanceofairineachchamber.Bythismethod,thebulkheadsthatdivide
themainairchambersaremaintainedsothatthereisequalpressureandapproximateinatedsizeoneachsideofthebulkhead.Failuretofollowthis
mayresultinirreparabledamage.
• Whenthetubesareat50%inationyoushouldttheseat,youwillnotbeabletottheseatifyoufullyinatethetubes.
• Positiontheairoorandinateittoapproximately70%.
• Inatethetubesto100%workingpressure,re-tthevalvecover.
• Inatethekeelto100%,re-tthevalvecover.
• Inatetheoorto100%
• Install the drain plug and the oars

5.2 Wooden oor tender
• Findaatsurfacewheretendercanbeassembled.
• Makesuretherearenosharpobjectsthatcanpuncturethetenderduringassembly.
• Unfoldandspreadthetenderoutat.
• Verifythevalve/capgasketisinplace.
• Connectthepumptothetendervalve;makesurethevalvecoreisturnedtotheclockwisepositiontopreventtheairfromescapingwhenyouremove
thepumptting.Todeatethetenderpushthevalvecoreinandturninaclockwisedirection(1/4turn)thiswillallowyoutofullydeatethetender
withoutthevalvebeingdepressedbyhand.Seediagramtooperatevalves.
• Dependingonthemodeloftenderyouhaveitmayhaveupto3chambers.
• Begininationtoamaximumof50%workingpressure,startatthebow,thenstarboardandnallytheport-side.Donotinateanyonechamberin
fullatatimeasthiscausesunnecessarystresstotheinsidebulkhead.Maintainabalanceofairineachchamber.Bythismethod,thebulkheadsthat
dividethemainairchambersaremaintainedsothatthereisequalpressureandapproximateinatedsizeoneachsideofthebulkhead.Failuretofollow
thismayresultinirreparabledamage.
• Whenthetubesareat50%inationyoushouldttheseat,youwillnotbeabletottheseatifyoufullyinatethetubes.
• Fittheoorboardsintoposition.
• Inatethetubesto100%workingpressure,re-tthevalvecover.
• Inatethekeelto100%,re-tthevalvecover.
• Install the oars.
• Install the drain plug.

5.3 Ination pressure
• Overinationcancausestructuraldamagetoyourboat.Donotallowyourtendertostandindirectsunlightwhenoutofthewater(evenwhencovered)
asthismaycauseoverpressuretothepointofdamageorbursting.
Overpressurisationiscausedbyincreasedtemperaturechangeoftheairwithinthetubesofthetender.
Topreventoverpressurisationyoushouldmonitorthepressureofthetubesduringthedaytomakesurethatthemaximum
recommendedpressureisnotexceededatanypoint.Ifyouinatethetenderinearlymorningwhenthetemperatureiscoolerthetendertubeswill
expandasthedaygetshotter.
Pleaseusetheworkingpressure
Maximumairpressureoftube:0.25bar
Maximumairpressurekeel:0.40bar
Maximumairpressureoor:0.70bar.
• Howtooperatethevalve:depressvalvecoreandrotateclockwise.Toopenthevalve,turn1/4clockwise.Toclose
thevalve,turnagain1/4clockwise.

6Mounting outboard engine
Selectingtheoptimumoutboardengineiscriticaltotheperformanceandlonglifeofyourinatabletender.
• Unlockmotorfortiltingandmounttheenginecorrectly.
• Theengineshouldbeinthecentreofthetransom.
• Maketheclampsaresecurelytightened.
• Adjust the engine angle.
• Fordetailedinformation,pleaserefertoyourenginedocumentationorcontactthesupplierofyourengine.
7Deation & packing
7.1 Air oor tender
• Beforedeation,makesurethetenderiscleananddry.
• Takeouttheseatandoars.
• Deatetheairoor.
• Placebothsidetubestowardinsideoftheboatandrollslowlyfrombothendsuntilallairisexpelled.
• Toavoidsuddenpressurechangesontheinternalbulkheadstrytolettheairoutasevenlyaspossible.
• Storetheboatinsidethecarryingbag.
7.2 Wooden oorboard tender
• Beforedeation,makesurethetenderiscleananddry.
• Todeate,openthevalvesasshowninthediagramandlettheairoutofeachchamber.
• Removeseatandoars.
• Firstremoveno.2andno.3woodoorboard.then,takeoutno.1andno.4oorboard.
• Placebothsidetubestowardinsideofthetenderandrollslowlyfrombothendsuntilallairisexpelled.
• Toavoidsuddenpressurechangesontheinternalbulkheadstrytolettheairoutasevenlyaspossible.
• Storethetenderinsidethecarryingbag

8 Warning when running
• Inthecasesofmorethantwopersonsboardingthetender,itisimportanttodecidetheseatingpositionofeachpersontogivethebeststabilityofthe
tender.Whentheboatisheadeduppriorto“plainsailing”itiseectivetokeepthetendersbowdown,bytheweightofthepersonssittingtoward
thebowside.However,anexcessiveweighttheremightcauseadangeroushead-downpositionwhenboatgets“plainsailing”.Nevertheless,the
extremesittingoftwopeopleonsternintheheaduppositionwillcauseanotherriskofoverturn,whenthewindisblowingtowardsyou.Wheneveryou
areturningyourtender,reductioninspeedisrequired.Wheneverthetenderisturningitwilltiltconsiderablyinsidetowardstheturningcentre.
Thereforeturningtoleewardorwhenwavesarehighmightcausetheboattooodwithwateroroverturn.
• Beverycarefulabout“shallows”or“unknownreefs”.Alwayschecklocalnavigationalmapswherethetenderwillbeoperated.
• Avoidtendersexposuretodirectsunlightforanyextendedperiodsoftime.Youshouldalsoadjustthechangingairpressureinsidethetubestoallow
fortemperaturevariation.Inadditionyoushouldprotectthetenderfromdirectsunlightphysicalreactionbyultra-violetraysastheageingofthe
materialswillbeacceleratedundertheseconditions.
• Refrainfromsmokingwhenyouareonthetenderorrefuelling.
• Nevergoinoraroundanyswimmingareaswithyourtender,astherewillbeaseriousdangerofswimmersgettinginjured.

9Warning when towing
• Iftheinatabletenderistowedbyanotherboat,theinatabletendermustbeempty&theengineremoved.
• Atowinglineshouldbesecuredtothetowingeyesoneachsideoftheboat.(theropesuppliedonthefronteyeletisformooringandisnotsuitablefor
towing)asuitablystrongoatinglineshouldbeusedtopreventanypossibilityoftheropegettingtangledaroundtheprop.
Thetendermustonlybetowedusingthetowingeyesxedatthesides,abridlesystemmustbeusedtotowthetenderevenlyandpreventdamage
fromuneventension.
Evenincalmconditionsthetendercanbecaughtbythewindanddamagedthetowingeyes.Thetowedtendermustbeobservedcontinuously.Towing
shouldonlybecarriedoutincalmconditions.

10 Storage and cleaning
Allowyourtendertodrythoroughlyintheshadebeforestoring,neveringlaringsunlight.Storeyourtenderinacool,atanddryplacewithsomeairintheair
chambersifatallpossible.Ifnot,emptythetenderofairandrollthetenderuploosely,nottightlyasthismaydamagetheseams.Thesurfaceofthetender
shouldbecleanedwithasolutionofmildsoapandfreshwateraftereachuse.Toavoidabrasionandwear,besurethatallthesand,smallrocks,oilanddirt
havebeenushedawayfromthetendersurfacesandparticularlytheinsideoornexttothetubes.Neverusepetrolorsolventforcleaninganypartofyour
tender
11 Repair & maintenance
Ifyouareunsureornotcompetentwerecommendthatyouseektheadviceofaprofessionalrepairer.ShouldyouattemptarepairtoyourSeagotender,
rstlyassesstherepairyoumaybeabletousetherepairkitprovidedusingthefollowinginstructions:
1 Cutoutapatchwithroundedcornerstoasizewhichoverlapstheholeby5cmonallsizes.
2 Traceanoutlineofthepatchwhereitwillbettedontheboatandensurethisareaiscleananddry.
3 Degreaseboththepatchandtheareaofthetendertoberepairedusingmekoracetonesolvent,andleavefor10minutes.
4 Applyathincoatofadhesivetobothsurfaces.
5 Leavefor20minutesthenapplyafurtherthinsecondcoattobothsurfaces.
6 Whilestilltacky,bringtogetherbothsurfacesandapplyasmuchpressureaspossibleusingaroundedobject(i.e.Backofaspoon)fromthemiddleof
thepatchworkingoutwards.
7 Cleanoanyexcessglue.
8 Allowtocureforatleast12hourspriortoinationexceptduringanemergencywhenatemporaryrepairwillsuce.
Ifyouareunsureoranymajorrepairworkisrequired,includinganydamagetothetransom,largetearsorfaultycomponentswestronglyrecommendyou
seektheadviceorservicesofasprofessionalrepairer.

12 Limited warranty
1 Wewarrantythe1stnewownerandaccessoriesattached,thereto(hereafterreferredtoas“tender”)manufacturedbyus,tobefreefromdefectsin
materialandworkmanship,butonlywhensaletotheconsumerismadeinacountrytowhichweauthorisedistribution.
2 Thiswarrantyshallbecomeeectiveonlyuponregistrationonlineatwww.seagoyachting.co.ukorreceiptofacompletedownerwarrantyregistration
cardtotheSeagoaddressbelow,whichshallidentifytheserialnumberoftheproductregistered.
3 Yourtendercomeswitha4yearlimitedwarrantyonthematerialandseamsfromdateofmanufacture,oriflonger,a3yearwarrantyfromdateof
purchase. This warranty is as follows:
Athree(3)yearguaranteeonthebasefabricsandseamsthatthefabricofwhichthetenderismanufacturedwillmaintainitsoriginalpurposeunder
normalconditions.Aone(1)yearguaranteeonauxiliaryttingsfromdateofpurchase.
Auxiliarycomponentsareitemssuchasoarlocks,oars,liftinghandles,footpumps,transom,transomholder,“D”rings,seatsandoorboardsare
coveredbyaone(1)yearwarranty.
Hypalon tenders only
ForHypalontendersthewarrantyforfabricandseamsis5years(allothertermsandconditionsapply).Aone(1)yearguaranteeonauxiliaryttingsfromdate
ofpurchase.Auxiliarycomponentsareitemssuchasoarlocks,oars,liftinghandles,footpumps,transom,transomholder,“d”rings,seatsandoorboardsare
coveredbyaone(1)yearwarranty.

Commercial use is not covered under this warranty.
4 Sincethiswarrantyappliestodefectsinmaterialandworkmanship,itdoesnotapplytonormalwornfabricorwoodnishesortodamagecausedby:
1 Neglect,lackofmaintenance,accident,abnormaloperation,racingcompetitionorcommercialservices.
2 UseofanaccessoryorpartnotauthorisedbySeago.
3 Alterationorremovalofparts.
5 Thiswarrantywillnotapplyto:haul-out,launching,storagecharge,telephoneorrentalchargesofanytype,inconvenienceorlossoftimeandincomeor
otherconsequentialdamages.

6 Claimsshallbemadeunderthiswarrantybydeliveringtheproductforinspectiontothesellingdealerwhowillthenarrangefortheinspectionandrepair,
providedsuchserviceiscoveredunderthiswarranty.Itistheowner’sresponsibilitytoregisterthetenderwithin28daysofpurchase.Therearenoexceptions
tothetermsandconditionsofthiswarranty;ifyourtenderisnotregisteredyourextendedwarrantywillnotapply.Purchasershallpayforallrelated
transportationcharges.Iftheserviceisnotcoveredbythiswarranty,purchasershallpayforallrelatedlabourandmaterialandanyotherexpenses
associatedwiththatservice.Anyproductorpartsshippedbypurchaserforinspectionorrepairmustbeshippedwithtransportationchargesprepaid.
7 TheownerregistrationcardistheonlyvalidregistrationidenticationandmustbeonlewithSeagoyachtingatthetimethewarrantyserviceisrequired.
Proofofpurchasemustbeshownbeforeanywarrantyclaimcanbeprocessed.
8 Ourobligationunderthiswarrantyshallbelimitedtorepairingadefectivepartoratouroptionreplacingsuchpartorpartsasshallbenecessarytoremedy
andmalfunctionresultingfromdefectsinmaterialorworkmanshipascoveredbythiswarranty.Wereservetherighttoimproveorchangethedesignorany
productwithoutassuminganyobligationtomodifyanyproductpreviouslymanufactured.
9 Allincidentalandconsequentialdamagesareexcludedfromthiswarranty.Impliedwarrantiesarelimitedtothelifeofthiswarranty.
10 Thiswarrantygivesyouspeciclegalrights,andyoumayalsohaveotherlegalrights,whichmayvaryfromareatoarea.
