sfty Sense
quick installation
Sfty Sense is a complete home safety unit. It is a smoke
detector, which is always on - and a motion detector, that
you can turn on and off. In addition, sfty Sense measures
temperature and humidity.
That’s a lot of things for a small, battery-powered device to do
- and it doesn’t end there. Sfty sense is installed with a Wi-Fi
card enabling it to reach you and others over the Internet
through our sfty app.
Connect to your Wi-Fi* and
set your brightness to
max. Android users: make
sure power save is off.
*Only 2.4 Ghz is supported. If you
don’t know what this is; don’t worry,
just try. (2,4 Ghz is the most
common
Wi-Fi network).

Download and install the
app “sfty” from Google
Play or App Store.
(Already a user, make sure to
have the latest update.)
Start the app and create
an account (unless you
already have one).

Create a home
Tap the add
more (+) icon to
add a device.
Tap the sfty
home image and
then continue”.

Name your sfty home
and tap next.
(Eg. your address, a name, a
place, etc.)
Choose a 4-digit PIN
code for your remote
control.

Type in your Wi-Fi
password, but do
NOT start BlinkUp
just yet.
Twist off bracket
(counter-clockwise) and
insert the 4 batteries.
Twist bracket back on
(clockwise).

While the Sense is still flashing, tap
start BlinkUp. Place your phone on
the Sense as shown in picture and
BlinkUp will start after a countdown.

Wi-Fi light must flash yellow or
white when BlinkUp starts. If it
doesn’t, take out one battery,
wait 10 seconds and reinsert
it. You have now about 25
seconds to start BlinkUp.
As BlinkUp starts counting down,
place the screen of your phone
over the test-button (see-through
square). When your phone starts
flashing, the Wi-Fi lamp should stop
blinking.
The Wi-Fi lamp will confirm with one
green blink if the BlinkUp was
successful. If you provided the right
password and the Wi-Fi is working -
you should now see Sense trying to
connect.
The BlinkUp process

Your phone should be placed screen down, covering
the test-button (see-through square), as shown in the
picture above. Your app will prompt you when
BlinkUp was successful.
N.B. Only BlinkUp with one phone. Look in to “sfty home user guide”
page X for how to invite family and friends to your home network.

Any difficulties?
❖Is your Wi-Fi network 2.4 Ghz? (5 Ghz is not supported)
❖Is brightness on your phone set to max?
❖Did you type in the correct Wi-Fi password?
❖Was the Wi-Fi light flashing yellow/white or red as you started blinkup?
(If not - take one battery out and put it back in again). It should be
flashing as you start BlinkUp, but stop flashing as soon as BlinkUp from
your phone has started.
❖Did you try to eliminate other sources of light? (lamps or sunlight from
windows)
❖Did you place the screen of your phone over the test-button (see-
through square) and avoided light during BlinkUp?
❖Tried restarting your phone?

Mounting the Sense
Place the bracket to the ceiling using the glue pads, then mount it with the
screws. Once it is firmly mounted, twist the sfty Sense into place on bracket.

Do not place the Sense nearby air conditioners that could prevent the
smoke reaching the detector sensor.
❖
Do not place the Sense near owens or other sources that provide
cooking fumes or steam. This could prevent false alarms.
Give the motion sensor some room
Your should try to position your sfty Sense at least 1m from any wall, to allow it’s
motion sensor a decent area to detect movement.
Find a spot with great Wi-Fi coverage
Since sfty Sense relies on your Wi-Fi, make sure that the spot you choose has
good or great coverage. A weak Wi-Fi signal will make it less reliable and also
reduced the battery life of the sfty Sense.
