Preface
Thank you for purchasing a lighting system from SGL. A lighting system from SGL consists of one or more
lighting units.
This manual contains all the necessary information for safe and correct installation, use and maintenance
of a separate unit. Read this manual before you start using the unit. Store this manual in an accessible place
near the machine for future reference.
This manual is intended for groundsmen and greenkeepers of grass sports playing surfaces who must use
the unit as part of their job.
Read this manual carefully before using the unit and keep the manual at an accessible place close to the unit.
Used symbols and signal words
This manual includes warnings and notices on safe and effective handling of the machine. These notes and
warnings are accompanied by the following symbols and signal words. Read them attentively!
6DANGER Indicates a hazardous situation that, if not avoided, will result in death or serious

Warranty
SGL warrants that any product delivered by and/or on behalf of SGL will function according to the
specifications laid down by SGL for a period of twelve (12) months from the date of delivery. The warranty
term shall not recommence in case of replacement and/or repair of the products concerned. The original
warranty period shall in all cases remain intact.
Limitation of liability
SGL accepts no liability for damage by:
• Failure to comply with these operating instructions
• Unintended use
• Unauthorised modifications
• Technical changes
• Use of spare parts not recommended by the manufacturer

1 Introduction
1.1 Product description
The BU10 is a lighting system that provides grass treatment for sports playing surfaces.
A BU10 system consists of HPS lighting fixtures.
HPS lighting fixtures on the BU10 apply additional heat, increasing the temperature at grass level.
The BU10 unit is a mobile support frame for HPS lighting fixtures.
The unit is equipped with one arm with a total mounting capacity of 2 lights that cover a grass area of 10 m2.
The unit is moved by hand.
All unit handling can be done by two persons.
1.2 Product identification
A type plate is present on the unit for identification purposes, see Figure 1.
The type plate states the following information:
• Product type
• Serial number (productline - unique number)
• Power (including lights)
• Voltage
• Current (per power plug)
• Year of manufacturing
• Contact information of SGL
• CE marking
The type plate is located on the chassis above the control panel.

1.3 Target group
The unit is intended to be used by groundsmen and greenkeepers of grass sports playing surfaces.

The unit is NOT intended to be used by:
• Persons aged under 18
• Persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capacity
• Persons who are not able to estimate the potential hazards
• Persons who are under the influence of alcohol or drugs
1.4 Intended use
The unit is intended for supporting, connecting and controlling lights that provide grass treatment for sports
playing surfaces.
The unit is intended to be used as a stand-alone unit.
The unit is not suitable for standing or sitting on.
The unit is only intended to be transported:
• By hand with two persons
Safe operation of the unit is only guaranteed if used as intended and specified in this manual. Use of the unit
and the tools provided with it for any purpose other than those described in this manual absolves SGL B.V. of
all responsibility.
1.5 Reasonably foreseeable misuse
Do NOT use the unit:
• In combination with units of another product type
• To support or mount anything other than the prescribed lights and instruments
• On a public road
• On sloped surfaces
6WARNING Do not hang, climb, stand or sit on the unit. The unit is not designed to support
people.
1.6 Operating conditions
Only use the installed unit within the following operating condition:
• Wind speed is below Beaufort value 7

2 Safety
2.1 General safety precautions
NOTICE
Read this manual carefully before using the unit.
Keep the manual at an accessible place close to the unit.
In case of questions or doubts contact SGL via phone [phone] or email
[e-mail].
6WARNING
Do not hang, climb, stand or sit on the unit. The unit is not designed to support
people.
Do not use the product at wind speeds of 7 Beaufort or higher.
Do not use a damaged or an improper installed unit.
Store the unit safely when a storm is approaching.
In case of questions or doubts contact SGL via phone [phone] or email
[e-mail].
6DANGER It is not allowed to open or disassemble the electrical cabinet. Opening or
disassembling the electrical cabinet can be dangerous and will void the warranty.
2.2 Transport and storage
This section concerns the transport of a unit to another grass area or to the storage.
6CAUTION Make sure that the unit is disconnected from the power supply before transport.
Make sure that the work area is well lighted.
6WARNING
Make sure that the unit is completely and correctly stored before transport.
Make sure that the area beneath and surrounding the unit is free from obstacles,
persons and animals.
2.3 Operation
NOTICE
Leave the lights switched off for at least 30 minutes before you switch them back
on.
Only disconnect the unit from the mains when the lights are off.
6CAUTION
Switch off the unit and disconnect all cables before moving the unit.
Do not place any cables directly below the lights. The heat of the lights could cause
the cables to melt.
6WARNING
Do not touch the light bulbs during and shortly after operation. The light bulbs are
hot and will cause burns when touched.
Make sure that the surface beneath an operational unit is clear from objects that
will be damaged (e.g. cables that will melt) by the heat of the lights.
When watering the pitch, prevent the light bulbs from getting in contact with the
water. Water could damage the heated light bulbs.

1. Press and hold the height adjustment pin.
2. Slide the leg in the desired height.
Note: Make sure that the height adjusment pin clicks into another height adjustment hole.

6CAUTION
Make sure that the unit is disconnected from the power supply before transport.
Make sure that the work area is well lighted.
Make sure that the legs are positioned correctly and stable.
Make sure that the locking pins and height adjustment pins are placed correctly.
6WARNING Make sure that the area beneath and surrounding the unit is free from obstacles,

5 Operation
NOTICE

6DANGER The unit must be used with an outdoor rated extension lead socket box and cable.
5.1 Switch the power on
Connect the power plug to the mains alongside the pitch.
5.2 Switch the power off
1. Turn the main switch to the "OFF" position to turn off the lights.
2. Wait a minimum of 30 minutes to allow the lights to cool down.
3. Unplug the power plug from the mains.
5.3 Switch on the lights
1. Press the switch to the "ON" position to turn on the lights.
Note: For troubleshooting when the lights do not switch on, see chapter 7 "Troubleshooting".

6 Maintenance
Monthly inspection, cleaning and repairs can be carried out by the groundsmen and greenkeepers of grass
sports playing surfaces who must use the unit as part of their job.
If you are unable to repair or solve issues, please contact SGL via phone [phone], email service@
sglsystem.com or create a service request.
6.1 Cleaning
Clean the unit at least twice a season with soapy water and a polish cloth.
Clean the lights and reflectors at least twice a season with soapy water. Use distilled water to prevent leaving
calcium residue.
Do not use detergents, abrasives or other aggressive chemical cleaning agents when cleaning the product.
Check the original manual of the lights for instructions on cleaning the lights.
6.2 Monthly inspection
At least once a month the product needs to be inspected by the groundsmen or greenkeepers. Inspect the
unit as follows:
Construction
• Visual damage on the unit
• M12 bolts of main beam tightened with a torque of 50Nm
• Dust or dirt buildup
Electrical
• Visual damage on the cabling, power plugs and sockets
• Loose cables
• Dust or dirt buildup
6.3 Replace a light bulb
Only use original lights in the unit.
Check the original manual of the lights for instructions on how to replace a light bulb.
6.4 Replace a reflector, Wieland connector or light cable
Check the original manual of the lights for instructions on how to replace a reflector, wieland connector or
light cable.

7 Troubleshooting
7.1 The lights do not switch on
1. Ensure the power plug is connected to the mains.
2. Ensure the main switch is positioned in the "ON" position.
7.2 A light bulb is not working
1. Shut down the product as mentioned in paragraph 5.2.
2. Check if the light bulb is properly positioned in the fixture.
3. Check the service status of the light on the fixture. Check the original manual of the lights for
information on the status of the light.
4. If there are no issues indicated, the light bulb is probably broken. Replace the light bulb as
mentioned in paragraph 6.3.
8 Disposal
The unit should be dismantled and disassembled safely and in an environmentally friendly way, in line with
the rules defined by the national authorities.
Check the assembly manual for disassembling steps.
For correct disposal of the lights please check the original manual of the lights.

1 Einführung
1.1 Produktbeschreibung
Bei dem BU10 handelt es sich um ein Belichtungssystem zur Beleuchtung von Rasensportplätzen.
Das BU10-System verwendet als Leuchtmittel Natriumdampf-Hochdrucklampen (HPS).
Die im BU10 eingesetzten HPS-Leuchtmittel geben zusätzlich Wärmestrahlung ab, sodass sich die
Temperatur auf Höhe der Grasnarbe erhöht.
Die BU10-Einheit ist ein mobiler Tragrahmen für HPS-Lampen.
Die Einheit ist mit einem ein Tragarm ausgestattet, der mit insgesamt 2 Lampen bestückt werden kann und
deckt eine Rasenfläche von 10 m2ab.
Die Einheit wird von Hand bewegt.
Zur Handhabung der Einheit sind zwei Personen ausreichend.
1.2 Produktidentifikation
Zur Identifizierung des Produkttyps befindet sich an der Einheit ein Typenschild (siehe Abbildung 1).
Das Typenschild enthält die folgenden Angaben:
• Produkttyp
• Seriennummer (Produktlinie – eindeutige Nummer)
• Leistung (einschließlich Leuchtmittel)
• Spannung
• Stromaufnahme (je Netzstecker)
• Herstellungsjahr
• Kontaktinformationen von SGL
• CE-Kennzeichnung
Das Typenschild befindet sich am Gestell über dem Bedienfeld.

1.3 Zielgruppe
Die Einheit ist für den Gebrauch durch Platzwarte und Greenkeeper von Rasensportplätzen bestimmt.
Die Einheit ist NICHT für den Gebrauch durch folgende Zielgruppen bestimmt:
• Personen unter 18 (nicht volljährig)
• Personen mit eingeschränkten physischen, sensorischen und geistigen Fähigkeiten
• Personen, die nicht in der Lage sind, die potenziellen Gefährdungen einzuschätzen
• Personen, die unter dem Einfluss von Alkohol oder Drogen stehen
1.4 Bestimmungsgemäße Verwendung
Die Einheit ist für den Einbau, den Anschluss und die Steuerung von Leuchtmitteln zur Lichtbehandlung von
Rasensportplätzen bestimmt.
Die Einheit ist für den Einsatz als eigenständiges Gerät bestimmt.
Die Einheit ist nicht dafür geeignet, dass Personen auf ihr sitzen oder stehen.
Die Einheit ist ausschließlich für den Transport mit folgenden Methoden bestimmt:
• Von Hand mit zwei Personen
Der sichere Betrieb der Einheit ist nur gewährleistet, wenn diese gemäß dem bestimmungsgemäßen
Gebrauch und den Spezifikationen in diesem Handbuch verwendet wird. Der Gebrauch der Einheit und
der mitgelieferten Werkzeuge für jeden anderen Zweck, der in diesem Handbuch nicht beschrieben wird,
entbindet SGL B.V. von jeglicher Haftung.
1.5 Vorstellbare Fehlanwendungen
Verwenden Sie die Einheit NICHT für die folgenden Zwecke oder unter den folgenden Umständen:
• in Verbindung mit Einheiten eines anderen Produkttyps
• zur Halterung oder Bestückung mit Leuchtmitteln und Instrumenten, die von den Spezifikationen
abweichen
• auf öffentlichen Straßen
• auf geneigten Oberflächen
6WARNUNG Nicht an die Einheit hängen oder auf ihr sitzen oder stehen. Die Einheit ist nicht
dafür ausgelegt, das Gewicht von Personen zu tragen.
1.6 Betriebsbedingungen
Verwenden Sie die installierte Einheit nur unter den folgenden Betriebsbedingungen:
• die Windgeschwindigkeit beträgt weniger als Windstärke 7 Bft

2 Sicherheit
2.1 Allgemeine Sicherheitsvorkehrungen
HINWEIS
Bevor Sie die Einheit einsetzen, lesen Sie sorgfältig dieses Handbuch.
Bewahren Sie das Handbuch an einem zugänglichen Ort in der Nähe der Einheit
auf.

6WARNUNG
Nicht an die Einheit hängen oder auf ihr sitzen oder stehen. Die Einheit ist nicht
dafür ausgelegt, das Gewicht von Personen zu tragen.
Setzen Sie das Produkt ab einer Windstärke von 7 Bft nicht mehr ein.
Setzen Sie keine beschädigte oder unsachgemäß installierte Einheit ein.
Sorgen Sie bei bevorstehendem Unwetter rechtzeitig für eine sichere
Aufbewahrung der Einheit.

6GEFAHR
Es ist unzulässig, den Schaltkasten zu öffnen oder zu demontieren. Das Öffnen
oder die Demontage des Schaltkastens kann gefährlich sein und führt zu dem
Erlöschen der Garantie.
2.2 Transport und Aufbewahrung
In diesem Abschnitt wird beschrieben, wie die Einheit auf eine neue Rasenfläche oder zum
Aufbewahrungsort transportiert wird.
6VORSICHT
Bevor Sie die Einheit transportieren, stellen Sie sicher, dass sie von der
Stromversorgung und anderen Einheiten getrennt ist.
Stellen Sie sicher, dass der Arbeitsbereich gut ausgeleuchtet ist.
6WARNUNG
Stellen Sie sicher, dass die Einheit vor dem Transport vollständig und sachgemäß
gelagert ist.
Vergewissern Sie sich, dass die Bereiche unterhalb und angrenzend an die Einheit
frei von Hindernissen, Personen oder Tieren sind.
2.3 Betrieb
HINWEIS
Nachdem Sie die Lampen ausgeschaltet haben, warten Sie mindestens 30 Minuten,
bevor Sie sie wieder einschalten.
Trennen Sie die Stromzufuhr zur Einheit nur, wenn die Lampen ausgeschaltet sind.
6VORSICHT
Bevor Sie die Einheit bewegen, schalten Sie diese aus und trennen Sie alle
Kabelverbindungen.
Führen Sie keine Kabel direkt unterhalb der Lampen entlang. Die Wärmeabgabe
der Lampen kann zum Schmelzen der Kabel führen.

Berühren Sie die Lampen im Betrieb oder kurz danach nicht. Die Lampen werden
heiß und verursachen bei Berührung Verbrennungen.
Vergewissern Sie sich, dass sich unterhalb der Einheit keine Gegenstände
befinden, die durch die Wärmeabgabe der Lampen beschädigt werden könnten
(z.B. Kabel, die schmelzen könnten).
Vermeiden Sie bei der Bewässerung des Spielfelds, dass die Lampen mit Wasser in
Kontakt kommen. Wasser könnte die aufgeheizten Lampen beschädigen.
2.4 Sicherheitszeichen
In der Tabelle 1 werden die Sicherheitszeichen beschrieben, die sich auf der Einheit befinden. Die genaue
Position der Zeichen kann Anhang 1 entnommen werden.
