GP2AP01VT10Fcontains a laser emitter and corresponding drive circuitry. The laseroutput is Class 1 laser safety under
allreasonablyforeseeableincludingsinglefaultsincompliancewithIEC60825-1:2014.Thelaseroutputwillremainwithin
Class 1 limits as long as the Sharp recommended device settings are used and the operating conditions specified in this
datasheetare respected.Thelaseroutputpower mustnotbeincreasedbyanymeansand no optics shouldbe usedwith the
intention offocusingthelaserbeam.

7. Notes
1) Notes concerning receiver surface
Please note enough that it is likely to malfunction when a surface is dirty with garbage and dust, etc.
Moreover, please do not touch a surface.
2)Please takeproper methodsto preventESD.TheIC builtinGP2AP01VT10Fis ESD-sensitive becauseit isfabricatedby
sub-micronCMOSprocess. Forexample,inhandlingGP2AP01VT10F,humanbodyandsolderingironetc. should be
grounded.
3)Beforethecircuitdesign
In circuitdesigning,makeallowanceforthedegradationofthelaseroutput thatresultsfromlong continuous
operation.
4)Notesambient light
Whensetto avoid malfunctionsdue toastrongdisturbancelight, suchanarrangementto receiveambientlightdirectlyonthe
detector, pleasebeavoided.Also byplacing this productinclose to othercomponents,it maybeamalfunctionwith thelight
reflectedfromtheirproduct,structural arrangementtoreduce theamountoflightreceivingsurfaceoftheouter,please

of VCSELdrivingcurrent.
To reducetheseinfluences,pleasearrangeCX1 within5mmfromAVDDVCSELterminal,andwirebetween
AVDDVCSELterminal, CX1andGND terminalascloseaspossible.Also,the wiringofAVDDVCSELisseparated from
VDD and VI2C terminals,andthe power sourceofVVCSEL isseparated fromVDD isrecommended.
Andinordertoreducetheinfluenceofthepowersupplynoise, pleasearrangeCX2within5mmfromAVDD terminal.
Please evaluate with the actual electrical implementation, and carefully make sure that there isnoproblem.
SDA terminal is NMOS open-drain output and digital input. XSHUT and SCL terminals are digital input. GPIO1
terminal is NMOS open-drain output.
