3.5 Control panel
1. Motor protection switch:
Protects the draining pump against overload e.g. in case of blockages. In case of trip-
ping of the motor protection switch reset the switch by pushing. In case of repeated
tripping check the pump for blockages. (see section 4.5).
2. Turn switch: Wet vacuum cleaner ON/OFF:

4. Tank level indicator:
Indicates the current liquid level of the tank (see section 3.6)
5. Push button Vacuum cleaner OFF:
For short-term interruption of the suction operation, e.g. in case of a blocked suction
tube
3.6 Automatic level control system
The level measuring in the tank is carried out by electrodes. Depending on the water level
the pump is switched automatically.
The 4 LEDs on the control panel indicate the filling level of the tank:
1. At start-up the first (lowest) LED lights up red. The water level rises.
2. As soon as the water level reaches the second lowest electrode (= tripping point of the
pump) the first (lowest) LED changes from red to green.
3. When the water level reaches the third lowest electrode (= switching point of the
pump), the second LED lights up and the pump starts. Since the pump starts immedi-
ately and the water level falls, the second LED only lights up shortly.
4. The pump now lowers the water level to the second electrode (= tripping point of the
pump). The pump gets switched off and the water level rises again. This cycle always
repeats in normal operation.
5. If in extreme case (e.g. in case of heads > 10 m) more water is picked up than the
pump is able to pump, the filling level rises above the third electrode. When it reaches
the fourth electrode in the tank, the third LED lights up.
6. If the water level continues to rise, the fifth electrode gets reached and the fourth LED
lights up. At the same time the vacuum cleaner gets switched off in order to avoid wa-
ter entering the suction head. However the pumps continues to work and lowers the
water level. The fourth LED goes out.
7. As soon as the filling level is lowered to the fourth electrode, the vacuum cleaner
starts automatically.

4.2 Picking up liquids
When used properly, the wet vacuum cleaner Aquatix is suitable to pick up nonhazard-
ous, nonflammable liquids, e.g. to pick up remaining water after water leaks or floods.
Caution:
Do not pick up flammable and hazardous liquids.
Before picking up liquids check the floater for proper operation (See section 6.5)
Do not use the vacuum cleaner as a water pump. Do not insert the suction pipe or suction
nozzle completely in the water but always draw in a small amount of air in order to protect
the turbine from overheating.
If foam appears, stop work immediately and empty the tank. To reduce the amount of
foam, use foam killer.
4.3 Operation
1. Mount the suction hose on the inlet side of the wet vacuum cleaner.
2. Ensure that the cleaner is switched off.
3. Mount a dimensionally stable spiral pressure hose with C-Storz coupling to the outlet
side of the vacuum cleaner. A suitable fire hose can now be connected to this spiral
hose. Lay this at a suitable drain or collection tank. The end of the pressure hose must
be adequately secured against impact. The fire hose should be laid without kinks
where possible to achieve an optimum pumping power. It is strongly recommended
that you use the optional dimensionally stable spiral pressure hose for the first 3-5 m.
Danger:
Ensure that the pressure hose end is adequately secured and fixed. Otherwise, there is
the risk of the hose end being hit when switching on the wet vacuum cleaner.
4. Insert the power cord into a properly installed and fused socket with earthing contact.

6 Service and Maintenance
It shall be the user’s responsibility to ensure that all maintenance, inspection and assembly work is performed
by authorized and qualified personnel who have adequately familiarized themselves with the subject matter by
studying this manual in detail. Any work on the machine shall only be performed when it is at stand-still. For
this, switch off the vacuum cleaner by turning the ON/OFF switch to position “0” and disconnected the network
plug. Prevent accidental restart of the vacuum cleaner by taking appropriate measures. Vacuum cleaner which
convey hazardous media must be decontaminated.
6.1 Maintenance rate
The wet vacuum cleaners are completely maintenance-free. All components requiring lu-
brication are lifetime-lubricated. During the annual electrical test in accordance with DIN
VDE 0701-0702 a trial run must also be performed to check the functional capability of the
vacuum cleaner. In case of vibrations, eccentric pump running or grinding noises a cus-
tomer service must be carried out in the factory.
6.2 Maintenance and cleaning
Clean the vacuum cleaner with clear water after each use, particularly after using it with
muddy liquid. In addition, let the vacuum cleaner run for about 10 minutes in a basin with
clean water. The vacuum cleaner is to then be completely emptied.
6.3 Motor With all wet vacuum cleaners, opening of the vacuum and pump motor is not permitted.
Repairs and maintenance on the motor may only be carried out by Spechtenhauser Cus-
tomer Service or at the plant. In case of infringement, all claims for warranty and damages
are lost.
6.4 Emptying the dirt tank
1. Switch off the vacuum cleaner and pull the network plug out of the socket. Prevent
accidental restart of the vacuum cleaner by taking appropriate measures.
2. If connected, remove suction and pressure hose
from the vacuum cleaner.
3. Open the retaining clamps, disconnect the plug-and-
socket connections and remove the suction head of
the cleaner.
4. Empty the tank.
After emptying the tank:
Clean the rim of the tank and the seals in the inter-
mediate ring and the suction head of the cleaner be-
fore refitting them. If the seal or groove is dirty or damaged, the suction performance
will be reduced.
Before reinserting the suction hose:
Clean the inlet fitting and hose collar.
5. Clean the tank and the pump and dry wet machine parts.
6. Place the suction head on the tank only in dry condition.
7. Connect the previously opened plug-and-socket connections properly.
