4 Operating the wet vacuum cleaner
Caution:
The wet vacuum cleaner may only be operated in compliance with the instructions and
information of this operating manual. The operating personnel must ensure that no third
parties (e.g. spectators during demonstrations, residents affected by floods, voluntary help-
ers, curious onlookers, etc.) can stand in the pumped fluid and can never get into the area
of the pump intake (suction side) or pump outlet (pressure side).
Note:
Before starting the vacuum cleaner, check that the supplied voltage and frequency matches
the information on the nameplate.
Danger from electric shock:
Bring electrical plug connections to a flood-proof area to protect them from water. Watch
out for rising water levels in flood areas!
Danger from electric shock:
The wet vacuum cleaner may only be operated over sockets that are fused via a residual
current device (RCD) with a rated residual current of no more than 30 mA.

4.2 Picking up liquids
When used properly, the wet vacuum cleaner Mini-Aquatix is suitable to pick up nonhaz-
ardous, nonflammable liquids, e.g. to pick up remaining water after water leaks or floods.
Caution:
Do not pick up flammable, explosive, aggressive and hazardous liquids.
Before picking up liquids check the floater for proper operation (See section 6.4).
Do not use the vacuum cleaner as a water pump. Do not insert the suction pipe or suction
nozzle completely in the water but always draw in a small amount of air in order to protect
the turbine from overheating.
If foam appears, stop work immediately and empty the tank. To reduce the amount of
foam, use foam killer.
Each time when picking up liquids, also ensure the following points:
1. Ensure that the cleaner is switched off.
2. Mount the suction hose including suction nozzle on the inlet
side of the wet vacuum cleaner.
3. Mount a pressure hose with C-Storz coupling to the outlet
side of the vacuum cleaner and lay it at a suitable drain or
collection tank. The end of the pressure hose must be ade-
quately secured and fixed. It is strongly recommended to use
a dimensionally stable spiral pressure hose for the first 3-5 m of the pressure line in
order to guarantee an optimum capacity of the draining pump. A suitable fire hose can
now be connected to this spiral hose. The fire hose should be laid without kinks where
possible to achieve an optimum pumping power.
Danger:
Ensure that the pressure hose end is adequately secured and fixed. Otherwise, there
is the risk of the hose end being hit when switching on the wet
vacuum cleaner.
4. Insert the power cord into a properly installed and fused
socket with earthing contact.
Danger from electric shock:
The wet vacuum cleaner may only be operated over sockets that are fused via a resid-
ual current device (RCD) with a rated residual current of no more than 30 mA.
5. Set the motor protection switch “Pump ON/OFF”(1) to position 1 (operating state).
6. Switch on the vacuum cleaner by turning the ON/OFF (2) switch to position 1. The
suction motor and the draining pump start.
7. The vacuum cleaner is ready for picking up liquids
8. The draining pump runs permanently and drains the tank.
9. In case of a soiled filter sieve, clean it manually (see section 6.4).

6 Service and Maintenance
It shall be the user’s responsibility to ensure that all maintenance, inspection and assembly work is performed
by authorized and qualified personnel who have adequately familiarized themselves with the subject matter by
studying this manual in detail. Any work on the machine shall only be performed when it is at stand-still. For
this, switch off the vacuum cleaner by turning the ON/OFF switch to position “0” and disconnected the network
plug. Prevent accidental restart of the vacuum cleaner by taking appropriate measures. Vacuum cleaner which
convey hazardous media must be decontaminated.
6.1 Maintenance rate
The wet vacuum cleaners are completely maintenance-free. All components requiring lu-
brication are lifetime-lubricated. During the annual electrical test in accordance with DIN
VDE 0701-0702 a trial run must also be performed to check the functional capability of the
vacuum cleaner. In case of vibrations, eccentric pump running or grinding noises a cus-
tomer service must be carried out in the factory. With all wet vacuum cleaners, opening of
the vacuum and pump motor is not permitted. Repairs and maintenance on the motor may
only be carried out by Spechtenhauser Customer Service or at the plant. In case of infringe-
ment, all claims for warranty and damages are lost.
6.2 Service and maintenance after picking up liquids
6.2.1 Cleaning operation with clear water
