Getting Familiar With Your LanRover D56

Look over your LanRover D56. Each item of the unit is identified in the illustration below.
Caution: Before installing any card, make sure the AC power
cable is disconnected, you are wearing the static wrist band,
and all telecom-munication cables are disconnected.

1Open the top,note the slots and where the cards are installed.
2Insert theWAN card, Digital Modem Card (DMC),or Ethernet card
into an available slot.
3Ensure the card is secure in the connector.
4Screw the card bezel to the unit with the card bezel screw(s).
For WAN and DMC cards only:
a. Secure the card into the back slot with the hinged bracket.
b. Connect the MVIP cable to the MVIP cable connectors on all
WAN or DMC cards installed.
5Close the chassis.
6Secure cover with screws.
7Install/reinstall all appropriate cables. Cover Removal

server.
2Plug the RJ-45 connector to the
E1/T1 PRI socket for yourWAN

Installing Shiva® Configurator
Use Shiva Configurator to configure and manage your remote access servers.
1Insert the CD-ROM in the CD-ROM drive.The splash screen appears.
2Follow the instructions.When the installation is complete,your remote
access server appears in the DeviceTree List.
3Double-click the device to configure it.
Installing ShivaRemote (PC only)
Use ShivaRemote to dial in to your network from a remote location.
1Insert the CD-ROM in the CD-ROM drive.The splash screen appears.
2Follow the instructions. Installation and connection wizards guide you
through the installation and connection processes.
Installing Shiva Dial-Out and Shiva ISDN Dial-Out
Use Shiva Dial-Out products to dial out through a remote access server to
online and Internet service providers.
1Insert the CD-ROM in the CD-ROM drive.The splash screen appears.
2Follow the instructions.
To install Shiva Dial-Out forWindows* 95 and Windows NT* open the self-
extracting file.An installation wizard guides you through the process.
