CAUTION:
This product has more than one electrical power supply connection point. TURN
OFF all electrical power supply, water main and hot water supply before
attempting the installation or servicing of the electric tankless water heater.

In selecting the water temperature, children or persons with reduced physical,
sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge should not
be allowed to set the water temperature.

When you open the box you will see the following:

This product is designed to be installed indoors only. Avoid installing the electric
tankless water heater in a location prone to excessive humidity, moisture, or dust,
or in an area where it may be splashed with water or other liquids. This product
should NOT be installed in a location where it may be subject to freezing
temperatures. If the water inside your electric tankless water heater freezes, it can
cause severe and permanent damage that is not covered under your warranty.
DO NOT install under water pipes or air conditioning lines that might leak or
condense moisture that could then drip onto the SIDFEN electric tankless water
heater.
Carefully remove the water heater and the installation/operating manual. Inspect
all the components to make sure that it has not been damaged in any way. If there
are any missing parts please contact us immediately.

If the plan is to install the water heater on a second floor, make sure that all
national, applicable state, provincial, and local electrical and plumbing codes are
followed.

Location Considered(Fig8~9):

make major plumbing alterations.
◈Location that is close to your main
electrical panel that will reduce the
amount of wire that you need to install.
◈Location of your bathrooms, kitchen,
and laundry area. For greater efficiency,
by locating the water heater close to the
poi n t s-o f - use, y o u w i l l r e d uce t he
amount of time it takes for the hot water
to travel from the water heater to your
faucet.
DO NOT mount the water heater in a
location that is difficult to access for
future servicing needs and for adjusting
the temperature.
3.Mounting the Water Heater

Remove 1 screw located in the middle of
the bottom of the water heater (Fig 10).
Carefully slide th e front cover o ff
exposing the internals of the water
heater (Fig11).
DO NOT disconnect, alter or modify any
of the internal electrical or heating
components. This will void the warranty
and could cause water heater failure,
personal injury or properly damage.
Securely mount the water heater against
the wall (Fig12~14).

It is important that your water heater is
level prior to securing the screws. It must
be mounted in an upright position with
the inlet and outlet water connection at
the bottom of the water heater. Never
install the water heater sideways.

4.Water Connection
Please read and understand these instructions thoroughly and completely
prior installation and before use. Failure to follow the installation

ELECTRICAL POWER IS TURNED OFF AT ALL TIMES OF INSTALLATION.
All SIDFEN ELECTRIC TANKLESS WATER HEATERS MUST BE INSTALLED BY
A LICENSED ELECTRICIAN AND PLUMBER IN ACCORDANCE WITH ALL
NATIONAL, APPLICABLE STATE, PROVINCIAL, AND LOCAL ELECTRICAL AND
PLUMBING CODES PRIOR TO THE INSTALLATION OF ANY SIDFEN ELECTRIC
TANKLESS WATER HEATER.
DO NOT SOLDER ANY PIPES WITH WATER HEATER CONNECTED TO PIPES.
IF YOU DO, YOU MAY DAMAGE THE WATER HEATER AND VOID THE
WARRANTY.
We recommend that a manual shut-off valve be installed on the inlet side of the
water heater so there is a convenient shut-off point available in the event that
future maintenance or servicing is required.
Step 1
Install the COLD WATER and HOT WATER lines to the desired location.
▶IMPORTANT:
Before connecting these pipes to the water heater hoses if used. It is extremely
important to FLUSH the lines to eliminate all plumbing paste or residue in the lines
caused by any welding or soldering.
Step 2
Due to our great design and flexibility
there are several ways to attach your
SIDFEN electric tankless water heater
for your hot water needs. We recommend
you consult your licensed plumber to
discuss the best option for you.
Connect the COLD WATER line to the
water heater line marked INLET located
on the right side of the water heater when
facing the water heater. Connect the
HOT WATER line to the water heater line
marked OUTLET on the left side when
facing the water heater. The inlet and the
outlet can not be reversed. Make sure
that the water pipes are securely
mounted(Fig15).

Step 3
After you have connected the water pipes together at the water heater, open
several hot water faucets and allow water to run through the water heater for at
least 2 to 3 minutes. This process purges all the air from the water lines and MUST
be performed prior to turning on the power at the water heater. FAILURE TO
FOLLOW THIS STEP CAN CAUSE PERMANENT DAMAGE TO THE HEATING
ELEMENTS AND VOID YOUR WARRANTY.
Step 4
Carefully inspect all connections and unions for leaks.
▶NOTE:
If your water heater is installed on a second floor, heated attic, or other location
where water damage could occur in the unlikely event of a leak, we highly
recommend that a drip pan (minimum 1 inch deep) be installed and connected to a
suitable drain.
5.Electrical Connection
Please read and understand these instructions thoroughly and completely
prior installation and before use. Failure to follow the installation
instructions and operating instructions thoroughly or improper use voids
the warranty. Failure to follow these instructions could cause property
damage or serious bodily injury and/or death. MAKE SURE ALL
ELECTRICAL POWER IS TURNED OFF AT ALL TIMES OF INSTALLATION.
▶IMPORTANT:
All wiring (wire gauge) and circuit protection (breakers) must comply with the
U.S. National Electrical Code (NEC) in the U.S.A.. Failure to do so could result
in property damage and/or Personal injury, and void your warranty.
Before installing this product, ensure that the home has sufficient electrical
power available to handle the maximum amperage load of the model you
selected.
All SIDFEN ELECTRIC TANKLESS WATER HEATERS MUST BE INSTALLED BY
A LICENSED ELECTRICIAN AND PLUMBER IN ACCORDANCE WITH ALL
NATIONAL, APPLICABLE STATE, PROVINCIAL, AND LOCAL ELECTRICAL AND
PLUMBING CODES PRIOR TO THE INSTALLATION OF ANY SIDFEN ELECTRIC
TANKLESS WATER HEATER.

INSTALLATION:
Step1
Using a suitable wire gauge that meets all applicable electrical codes for the size
of breakers used, run two wires and a ground wire from the home's main breaker
panel to the water heater. Note: For the model(A12SL,A12L,A10L,Q8E,Q8M,Q6M)
you need to run a pair of wire and ground wires.
Step 2
A separate ground conductor for each
incoming circuit is required.
Loosen the restraining clamp
screws(Fig16).
Insert the electrical cable through the hole
located in the top right corner on the back
cover(Fig17).
Loosen the slotted screws on the terminal
block of the water heater. Insert each wire
into appropriate terminal slot. Tighten the
terminal screws and restraining clamp
screws firmly and assure that they are not
loose(Fig17~19).

Step 3
DOUBLE CHECK the electrical connections to make sure they are correct and that
all wire connections are tight and secure. Also confirm that the correct breaker
size and wire gauge has been used and confirm that the water heater has been
connected to a ground in accordance with applicable codes.
Be sure and install the front cover the same way that it came off.
Step 4
Confirm that the plumber has removed all the air from the water lines prior to
turning on power to the water heater. Refer to Step 3 in the Plumbing Installation
section.
The water heater is now installed and ready to use! Follow the General Operating
Instruction below to complete the set-up. We highly recommend that this be done
in conjunction with the homeowner.
6.General Operating Instructions & Setting Output
Please read and understand these instructions thoroughly and completely

the warranty. Failure to follow these instructions could cause property
damage or serious bodily injury and/or death. MAKE SURE ALL
ELECTRICAL POWER IS TURNED OFF AT ALL TIMES OF INSTALLATION.

Purge all the air from the water lines prior to turning on the power of the water
heater. FAILURE TO FOLLOW THIS STEP CAN CAUSE PERMANENT DAMAGE
TO THE HEATING ELEMENTS AND VOID YOUR WARRANTY.

DO NOT TOUCH ELECTRICALLY LIVE PARTS AFTER INSTALLATION.
The initial use of the water heater should be performed by a qualified professional.
The professional should instruct the homeowner and explain all the functions of
the water heater.
Important Instructions:
◆Draw the homeowner's attention to possible hazards (scalding, electrical
shock).
◆Hand over these instructions for future reference.
◆In order to obtain proper temperature control at a single spout mixer-type faucet,
restrict cold water flow to faucet by partially closing the cold water shut-off valve
under the sink until cold water and hot water flow rates are approximately the
same.

◆(A12SL,A12L,A10L):To adjust the temperature of your water heater set the
selector knob on high or 6 during the winter months, low or 2 during the summer
and medium or 4 during spring and fall.
◆(Q8E,Q8M):To adjust the temperature of your water heater set the selector knob
on high or 4 during the winter months, low or 2 during the summer and medium or 3
during spring and fall.
◆(Q6M):To adjust the temperature of your water heater set the selector knob on
high or 3 during the winter months, low or 1 during the summer and medium or 2
during spring and fall.
Setting the Output Water Temperature:
(A12SL):Two knobs on your new tankless water heater. One is to choose Power
rating, the other is to adjust the water flow. It is very easy to operate.
To set a temperature, start by turning on any water faucet. The LED display will
light up and give you the current temperature setting of the water heater. The LED
display will also show your using time. Use the “Power rating Selector Knob” to
“increase” the water temperature by selecting a higher number or “decrease” the
water temperature by selecting a lower number.
At the same Power rating, to increase the water temperature, please use the “Flow
Regulator Knob” to adjust lower “-” direction. To decrease the water temperature
to adjust higher “+” direction.
(A10L,A12L):The “Selector Knob” on your new tankless water heater is very easy
to operate.
To set a temperature, start by turning on any water faucet. The LED display will
light up and give you the current temperature setting of the water heater. The LED
display will also show your using time. Use the “Selector Knob” to “increase” the
water temperature by selecting a higher number or “decrease” the water
temperature by selecting a lower number.
(Q8E):The “Selector Knob” on your new tankless water heater is very easy to
operate. The digital display will show your current set water temperature at all
times that the water heater is running.
To set a temperature, start by turning on any water faucet. The digital display will
light up and give you the current temperature setting of the water heater. Use the
“Selector Knob” to “increase” the water temperature by selecting a higher number
or “decrease” the water temperature by selecting a lower number.
(Q8M,Q6M):The “Selector Knob” on your new tankless water heater is very easy
to operate.
To set a temperature,start by turning on any water faucet. The power light will
light up. If the water temperature is higher than (140~151 F),the overheating light
will light up until the temperature decrease to (117~135 F).Use the “Selector
Knob” to “increase” the water temperature by selecting a higher number or
“decrease” the water temperature by selecting a lower number.

▶RECOMMENDATION:

7.Maintenance
SIDFEN electric tankless water heaters are designed for long service life. The
water heater itself does not require any regular maintenance. However, to ensure
consistent water flow, it is recommended to periodically remove scale and dirt that
may build up at the aerator of the faucet or in the shower head.
▶IMPORTANT:
When any maintenance is performed on the water heater or the home's plumbing
system that may introduce air into the plumbing pipes. It is important to turn the
power off to the water heater and remove the air out of the lines follow the same
procedure as step 3 in water connection.

9.Warranty Information
When installed by a licensed electrician and plumber (proof required), this water heater is
covered by a limited warranty. SIDFEN USA INC warrants to the original owner at the original
address or the authorized transferee of such owner. The SIDFEN tankless water heater will be
free from defects in material and workmanshop for three years period from the date of original
purchase which is indicated on the Warranty Registration Card. In the event of a defect in
materials or workmanshop, SIDFEN USA INC will at its sole discretion, repair or replace the
defective component(s). SIDFEN reserves the right to accept or reject any such claim in whole
or in part. In the event that the original owner wishes to return the water heater for repair, the
owner must first secure written authorization from SIDFEN. The owner shall be required to
show proof of purchase date, and to pay all transportation cost to return the defective parts for
repair or replacement. Warranty is void if owner cannot furnish SIDFEN with a proof of
purchase with date of purchase, and that the original serial numbers have not been tampered
with. SIDFEN will not accept the return of any product without prior written approval in the
form of a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA), and approved by SIDFEN, and all such
approved returns shall be made at buyer's sole expense. NO returns will be accepted by
SIDFEN without the RMA number written on the outside of the package and SIDFEN assumes
no responsibility for product returned without written authorization. Any SIDFEN water heater
which proves defective under normal installation and use during this period, SIDFEN USA INC
will repair or replace the defective components only. SIDFEN USA INC is not responsible for
labor charges to remove or replace the defective parts. Warranty is void if water heater has
been installed or used improperly.
SUCH WARRANTIES DO NOT COVER:
EXCLUSIONS:
♨This limited warranty shall be the exclusive warranty made by SIDFEN USA INC and is
made in lieu of all other warranties, expressed or implied (whether written or oral), including
but not limited to, warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. The rights
and remedies provided under this warranty are exclusive and in lieu of any other rights or
remedies.
♨SIDFEN USA INC and its authorized dealers shall not be liable for incidental,
consequential, special, or contingent damages or expenses arising, directly or indirectly, from
any defect in the water heater or the use of the water heart. SIDFEN USA INC and its
authorized dealers shall not be liable for any water damage arising directly or indirectly from
any defect in the water heater component parts or from its use.

1. Product failure caused by liming, sediment buildup, chemical corrosion, chlorine/chloride
corrosion, or freezing.
2. Product failure caused by the failure to remove air from system prior to or during operation.
3. Product misuse, tampering or misapplication, accidental damage, improper installation or
the application of improper voltage.
4. Costs incurred for shipping, delivery, handling, and/or administrative charges.
5. Product failure due to lightening, flood or other natural or manmade calamities. Labor
charges of any kind.

♨This warranty is void of the product is not installed in accordance with relevant electrical
and plumbing codes and in accordance with the installation procedures specified by SIDFEN
USA INC.
♨This warranty does not include labor or shipping or replacement parts or replacement
products unless specifically specified in this warranty.
♨The electrical sub-panel (Circuit Breaker Load Center) and associated breakers are not
included in this warranty and are guaranteed by their respective manufacturer.
♨This warranty is voided if any replacement part installed in the water heater was not
purchased from or approved by SIDFEN USA INC.
▶NOTE:
Product should be wrapped and packaged securely to avoid shipping damage. The
RMA number should be prominently on the outside of the package. SIDFEN will
not be liable, under any circumstances, for consequential or incidental damages,
including but not limited to labor costs or lost profits resulting from the use of (or
inability to use) the products or from the products being incorporated in or
becoming a component of any other product or goods.
