The
Memorymatic
M44
is
a
function-expanding
device
for
exclusive
use
on
the
electronic
compact
typewriter,
Model
EX
44.
By
using
this
versatile
device,
the
capabilities
of
the
EX
44
can
be
greatly
enhanced.
The
device
also
permits
the
use
of
a
6K
memory
which
is
infinitely
helpful
in
repetitive-use
operations.
The
addition
of
the
Memorymatic
M44
enhances
the
EX44
with
space-age
design
to
match
the
mod-
ern
office,
and
is
suited
for
a
wide
range
of
personal
and
business
applications.
The

CAPABILITIES
Automatic
Correction
It
is
possible
to
erase
the
current
line
(within
255
characters)
automatically
by
use
of
the
Correcting
Key
on
the
typewriter.

To
correct
a
character
1.
Align
the
Carrier
at
one
pitch
after
the
incorrect
character
with
the
Back
Space
Key.
2.
Depress
the
Correcting
Key.
The
character
is
erased.
3.
When
erasing
characters
continuously,
depress
the
Repeat
Key
after
depressing
the
Correcting
Key.
4.
Type
the
correct
character(s).
5.
Depress
the
Relocate
Key.
The
Carrier
moves
back
to
the
last
printed
position.
Notes:

the

can
be
aligned
using
the
Space
Bar,

When

the
Memorymatic

use

the
MC
Key
on
the
M44
for
manual
correction.

make
the
manual
correction

Turn
the
Platen
Knob
back
to
the
writing
line
which
includes
the
character
to
be
corrected.

Align
the
Carrier
at
one
pitch
after
the
incorrect
character
using
the
Space
Bar
or
the
Back
Space
Key.

Depress
the
MC
Key.

Type
the
incorrect
character.

correct
character.

characters

be
corrected,
repeat

Underline
The
Auto
Underline
Key
makes
it
possible
to
under-
line
characters
or
words
at
the
same
time
as
they

being
typed.

underline
characters
automatically
1.
Depress
the
Auto
Underline
Key.
The
signal
light
above
the
key
will
activate.
2.
Type
the
desired
characters
and
they
will
be
automatically
underlined.
3.
Redepress
the
Auto
Underline
Key
when
finish-
ed.
The
signal
light
deactivates,
cancelling
the
underline
feature.
Note:

The
Automatic
Underlining
is
possible,
even
when
used
in
conjunction
with
Automatic
Cen-
tering
or
Decimal
Tabulation.
Automatic
Centering
A
simple
operation
enables
characters
to
be
center-
ed
between
the
Left
and
Right
Margins,
or
between
two
adjacent
Tabs.
It
is
possible
when
the
Operation
Mode
Selector
is
set
either
in
the
NORMAL
or
MEMORY
position.

To
center
characters
between
Margins
1.
Position
the
Carrier
at
the
Left
Margin.
2.
Depress
the
Centering
Key.
3.
Type
the
characters
(a
buzzer
sounds,
although
nothing
prints
at
this
stage).
4.
Depress
the
Carrier
Return
Key.
After
printing
has
occurred,
the
Carrier
returns
to
the
Left
Margin.
Note:

trigger

temporary

Carrier

any
point
left
of
the
Tab
Set
position.

Depress
the
Indent
Key.
The
signal
light
above

key
will

Carrier
moves
to
the
Tab
Set
position
and
will
return
to
that
position
thereafter,
until
the
Indent
Key
is
redepressed.
Note:

When
desiring
an
indentation
further
to
the
right
of
the
present
Indent
position,
repeat

You
must
depress
the

twice
in

The
device
can
store
typed
information
for
later
recall
and
repeated
use.

MEMORY
FUNCTION
Memory
Capacity
It
is
possible
to
store
up
to
6,000
actions,
which
would
include
characters,
spaces,
tabs,
carrier
re-
turns,
silent
characters
and
other
functions.
To
store
a
text
in
the
memory
1.
Set
up
desired
Margins
and
Tab
settings.
2.
Set
the
Operation
Mode
Selector
to
MEMORY,
3.
Set
the
Typing
Pitch
Selector
on
the
typewriter
keyboard
to
the
same
pitch
as
the
Type
Wheel
being
used.
4.
Depress
the
Memory
Clear
Key
twice.
The
Carrier
moves
to
the
Left
Margin.
5.
Type
the
text.
6.
Depress
the
Carrier
Return
Key.
Notes:

Make
sure
to
depress
the
Carrier
Return
Key
at
the
end.

The
memory
is
backed
up
by
battery
for
about
4
days
after
you
switch
the
typewriter
off.

errors
occur,
correct
them

Correcting

Also,
when
cancelling
the
line
being
typed,

not

typing
pitch
cannot

changed.
