Changing Batteries on
Fixed Wireless Emergency
Call Stations
WCUA, WTUA and WCCA devices use
a 3-volt coin cell battery which should be
changed every two to three years. When a
battery is low, the red light indicating that
an emergency call has been placed will ash
slowly. If you see a slowly ashing light,
replace the battery as soon as possible.
The WRCB, WRTB, and WMCA use a 3-volt
barrel battery that should be changed every
two to three years. When replacing the
battery, if the light ashes green during
version ash, then you have used a brand
new battery. If the light ashes yellow, that
indicates that you have an OK battery, but it
is not fully charged and it may not last very
long. If the light ashes red, that indicates
that you have replaced your battery with
another low battery and should not use it.
To replace a battery in a WRCB, WCUA,
WRTB, WMCA and WTUA, lightly squeeze
the right and left side of the call station, then
lift from the bottom. The WCCA must be
unscrewed from the wall.
Once the battery has been repalced, reattach
the station by placing the top of the station
on the back plate rst and then lowering the
bottom down. If done correctly, the device
will snap into place. The WCCA will must
be screwed back into place.
Tip: It is highly advisable to replace all of
the batteries in a zone at the same time.
Note: WRCB, WRTB, and WMCA stations
can record and report temperature
information. To ensure the onboard
thermometer is working properly, the
device tests it upon power up. After
replacing the battery, the station ashes
its version number. After that, it ickers
the temperature status briey. If the light
ickers green, then the thermometer is
working properly. If the light ickers
red, that means the station is detecting
an ambient room temperature higher
than 85F. If the light ickers yellow, it’s
detecting temperatures lower than 65F.
If your room is neither above nor below
those temperatures when you get this
reading, replace the station.
