CLEANING AND SANITIZING PROCEDURES

Cleaning: Every six months
Sanitizing: Every month
NOTE. THE FOLLOWING PROCEDURE CAN BE
USED FOR EITHER SANITIZING OR DE-SCALING
THE ICE MACHINE.
NEVER MIX THE SANITIZING SOLUTION WITH THE
DE -SCALING SOLUTION.
IN CASE THE MACHINE NEEDS TO BE SANITISED
AND DE-SCALED, CLEAN THE MACHINE
THOROUGHLY, THEN FIRST DE-SCALE, AND AFTER
PROPER WASHING AND RINSING, DO THE
SANITATION.
WARNING. When using any chemical, protection of
hands and eyes should be worn.
NOTE. De-scaling is recommended every 6 months in
average water hardness conditions, while sanitizing
should take place once a month. Under extreme water
hardness conditions, we recommend to de-scale every
two – three months, and to sanitize every two weeks.
Sanitizing regularly will reduce bacteria growth, which is
natural in all water circulation systems as ice machines.
NOTE. Always follow approved Sanitizer / De-scaler
manufacturers instructions when preparing the Sanitizer
/De Scaler solutions.

PROCEDURE
1. Wait until the end of defrost cycle then
disconnect power from the unit (OFF)
2. CLOSE water tap on the water supply line
NOTE: be sure no other equipment in use of water
may suffer due to tap closure
3. Remove all ice from the bin. Either save it in a
sanitary container or discard it. If routine
sanitizing is due, the ice machine should be
switched off during evening closing procedures
to minimize waste during next morning sanitizing
procedures.
4. Remove the front panel
5. Remove the drain plug and drain out the water
6. Carefully push upper sides corner of the
evaporator plastic cover and withdraw the same
7. Gently push upper ice sensor arms and release
the same from its bracket
8. Cut water inlet hose plastic clamp

9. Disconnect water hose from water distributor
system
10. Carefully push the two plastic clips of the water
distributor and slip it off to right hand thus to
release the same from its bottom plastic bracket
….
11. Lift up and remove silicon cover.
12. Cut water pump hose clamp.
…and disconnect hose from its fitting
13. Push water level sensor clips and remove the
same from its seat
14. Lift up and remove left half water sump plastic
cover
……..cut water pump hose clamp

…..and disconnect hose from fitting
15. Remove right half water sump plastic cover
16. Unloose a little bit the water pump bracket
screws
……then slip the water pump off from its seat
17. Push the two water sump holding brackets
…….and withdraw water reservoir from its seat
18. Using gloves prepare the cleaning solution by
diluting in a plastic bucket two liters of lukewarm
water (max 40ºC) with 200 cc of Ice Machine
Cleaner
19. Clean evaporator plastic cover by cleaning
solution then rinse it by fresh water

20. Clean “water distributor system” by cleaning
solution then rinse by fresh water
21. Clean water reservoir and its covers by cleaning
solution then rinse by fresh water
22. Carefully reinstall all removed parts
23. Turn the power ON by main switch and OPEN
the water tap
24. Push the RESET BUTTON for 6-8 seconds till
25. BIN FULL YELLOW LED starts slowly blinking
(this bring the unit at Cleaning cycle stand by
MODE)

26. Pour following quantity of cleaner inside water
sump
SV 145-205: 300 ml
SV 225-325: 400 ml
SV 395-545: 500 ml
27. Push again the RESET BUTTON for a while
28. The WASH YELLOW LED starts to blink FAST
and the machine enter in the Cleaning Cycle

…..the water pump starts to operate while the water
inlet valve will be energized till the fill up of the water
sump

29. With the system in Cleaning mode the water
pump is the only component in operation to
circulate the cleaning solution in the entire water
system.
30. Let the unit remain in the cleaning mode for
about 20 minutes
31. Push again the RESET BUTTON for a while

……till WASH YELLOW LED starts to blink three
times and repeat.

32. The machine is now in the automatic rinsing
mode that means to keep in operation the water
pump and the water drain valve for 40 seconds
to drain out all remained water
…then both are de-energized while water inlet valve
remains energized-open
33. Once water reservoir is filled up by water, the
water pump starts up again for 3 minutes
circulating, into the water system, the new fresh
water.
NOTE: sequences # 32 and # 33 are repeated 7
times so to be sure that no more trace of de-
scaling solution can remain into the water
system.
34. After the 7th rinsing cycle the machine stops the
operation with the blinking (slow) of the WASH
YELLOW LED.

35. Drop approx. 5 ml of sanitizer (Amuchina)
directly into the water reservoir
36. Push again the RESET BUTTON for a while

37. Water pump starts keeping sanitizing solution
re-circulating inside hydraulic circuit; let the unit
operating in sanitizing cycle for about 10
minutes
38. Push reset button for a while to restart rinsing
39. PC Board will start 7 rinsing batches as from #
32 to # 33
40. Meanwhile unit is within sanitizing cycle, mix in a
clean bucket some fresh water by 1 % of
Amuchina (sanitizer)
41. Open the Ice storage bin
42. Fill up by mixed solution at # 40 a spray bottle
then spray the same to all bin internal wall/area
43. With proper brush, wipe all over bin inside areas
44. Place back again the front panel
45. To restart the operation of the machine in
normal freezing cycle it is necessary to push
and hold for 6-8 seconds the RESET
BUTTON.

ATTENTION: throw away – do not eat first 2-3
batches of ice thus to be sure not chemical contains
remains inside stored ice
