Quick Guide for First Installaon
The quick guide only describes the inial installaon of the
Ecoport 800 using the operang panel.
A service technician needs to install the Ecoport 800 rst.
This quick guide does not replace the operang
manual, which is part of the delivery.
You will nd further informaon and safety

Symbols and Noces

General Safety Informaon
MORTAL DANGER THROUGH BLOCKED OR LEAKING EXHAUST TRACT
Never operate the Ecoport inside a house or garage without a fun-
coning exhaust system even if doors and windows are open. The
exhaust system must always have a connecon to the outside.
The exhaust gas may contain carbon-monoxide, this must always be
venlated to the outside. It is a colourless and odourless toxic gas.
Inhalaon of exhaust gas can cause unconsciousness and be fatal.

FIRE OR EXPLOSION DANGER
The disregard of safety instrucons can lead to danger to persons as
well as property damage
ELECTRIC SHOCK HAZARD
Failure to follow the instrucons in this manual may result in
accidents such as electric shock. The generator generates electrical
energy, which can lead to electric shock when misused, which can
be fatal.
The exhaust gases of the device may contain harmful components!
Do not inhale exhaust gases directly or permanently. Instead lead
them out into the open air with the supplied exhaust system.
Do not smoke when handling the Siqens fuel cell or Siqens fuel
cartridges. Keep away from heat and ignion sources.
Methanol is highly ammable! Read the Methanol Safety Sheet
carefully.
Siqens Ecoport fuel cells and QE CHARGE methanol cartridge – in-
cluding empty or parally empty fuel cartridges must be kept away
from children.
The Ecoport and QE CHARGE methanol cartridge may not be ope-
ned. Modicaons to the device endanger the safety and result in
the loss of the operang license and the expiraon of the warranty
and guarantee.

ATTENTION The fuel cell must be installed by a Siqens service technician.
The Ecoport must not be lted when lled, otherwise damage to
the device may occur. In case of problems, contact a Siqens service
technician.
Improper use or improper connecon to other electrical equipment
may result in damage.
When connecng the power cables, ensure that the polarity is
correct.
The Ecoport must be operate and stored in a horizontal posion.
The Siqens fuel cell is not waterproof! Make sure that no water can
penetrate the device.
Do not operate the Siqens fuel cell and Siqens fuel cartridges at
temperatures above 50°C
NOTICE
Observe the safety instrucons in the operang manual. Follow all
instrucons in the manual. Keep the operang instrucons with the
device.
Modicaons endanger the safety and lead to the loss of the opera-
ng permit, the expiry of the warranty and guarantee.
Only use original Siqens equipment.
Protect the device and QE CHARGE methanol cartridge from heat
and direct sunlight.
Only operate Siqens fuel cell in accordance with the installaon
instrucons and ensure the exhaust system is connected to the
outside.

Methanol Safety Informaon
DANGERS Highly ammable liquid and vapor. (H225) Toxic if swallowed,
contact with skin or inhalaon. (H301 + H311 + H331) Causes
damage to organs. (H370). Use only undamaged containers with
suitable terminals with SIQENS fuel cell. Follow operang instruc-
ons. IF SWALLOWED: Immediately call a NATIONAL POISONS
INFORMATION SERVICE. (UK (00 44) (1 71) 6 35 - 91 91 ).
Keep away from heat, hot surfaces, sparks, ames and other igni-
on sources. Do not smoke. (P210) Take precauonary measures
against stac discharge. Do not breathe vapor. (P260)) Store in a
cool, well-venlated place. Keep container ghtly closed. (P403
+ P233). Do not open or empty the cartridge by force. Dispose of
empty containers in accordance with current regulaons. Protect
from temperatures > 50 ° C or direct sunlight. Do not leave in a
parked car in hot climate. Store and transport upright. Fuel cell car-
tridge intended for single use only. Sale only to authorized persons
over 18 years.

WARNINGS Methanol is highly ammable! You will receive methanol in safe,
tested QE CHARGE methanol cartridges, which will protect the
contents from leakage during appropriate use. Storage and trans-
port may be subject to legal regulaons.
Methanol is toxic if inhaled, ingested and in contact with the skin.
There is a serious risk of irreversible damage through inhalaon,
skin contact and ingeson. In case of direct contact, an accident or
if you feel unwell, seek medical advice immediately and show the
QE CHARGE methanol cartridge label, the methanol safety data
sheet or the user guide.
Only use methanol according to the degree of purity stated in the
data sheet.
ATTENTION
CONTAMINANTS IN THE METHANOL
The original QE CHARGE methanol cartridges contain methanol
approved by Siqens for the Ecoport. Contaminants or foreign com-
ponents in the methanol can cause irreversible damage to the unit
and may void the warranty or guarantee.
Only use methanol according to the degree of purity stated in the
data sheet.
NOTICE
Proper use of the Ecoport and QE CHARGE methanol cartridges will
prevent exposure to methanol.

Safe baery handling
NOTICE
It is imperave that another person is present, in case of emergen-
cies, when working on the baeries.
These instrucons must be observed in addion to the instrucons of the baery manufactu-
rer.
DANGER ACID BURN HAZARD
Keep soap and water ready in case baery acid contacts skin.
Wear eye protecon and protecve clothing. Do not touch your
eyes while working on the baery.
Wash o acid splashes on the skin or clothing with plenty of soap
and water.
If acid gets into your eyes, rinse immediately with clean water unl
no more burning is felt. Seek medical help immediately.
EXPLOSION DANGER
Do not smoke near or around the baeries.
No open re. Danger of explosion in the vicinity of the baery.
BURN DANGER
Do not wear a bracelet or watch during installaon. Short circuit of
the baery can be generated resulng in skin burns.

WARNINGS Only use cycle-resistant, deep-discharge capable baeries, no
starter baeries.
Never charge frozen baeries.
Avoid baery short-circuits.
Ensure good venlaon of the baery to dissipate any gases.
Carefully lay the baery connecon cable and check for improper
heang under load. Periodically check the baery in the area of
vibrang components for chang and insulaon problems.
NOTICE
Cover baery poles to prevent damage from tools.
Protect all baery contacts against unintenonal contact.
Check baery connecon terminals for stability prior to each ope-
raon.

First installaon
Place the Ecoport 800 in the required locaon.
Prepare a breakthrough to the outside with a diameter of 100mm.
Mount the venlaon grille for supply air and exhaust air at the opening into the
open air.
Make sure that the distance between the supply air and exhaust air is sucient so
that the exhaust air is not sucked in again.
Aach the extracted aluminium corrugated pipe with Ø70mm to the exhaust air of
the Ecoport and x it with the pipe clamp.
Then aach the extracted aluminium corrugated pipe for supply air and exhaust
air with pipe clamps.
Pull all three pipe clamps ght to prevent the aluminium hose from slipping.
Mount the supply and exhaust air grille at the end of the aluminium pipe.
Check the secure hold of the supply air and exhaust system.
Check that the supply and exhaust hoses are free and ensure a safe supply and
exhaust air ow.
IMPORTANT: Observe the safety instrucons in this operang manual during instal-
laon. If other lengths of the exhaust system are required, contact Siqens technical
support.

Connect the QE CHARGE methanol cartridge to the methanol feed (1.5 m) of the Ecoport
800. So as to ensure a safe operaon, do not posion the QE CHARGE methanol cartridge
above the level of the Ecoport. The methanol feed must be prevented from being pulled
out.
IMPORTANT: Follow the safety instrucon for handling the methanol.
2. Connect the QE CHARGE methanol cartridge to the Ecoport

Connect the baery to the Ecoport baery port using the load cable.
Nominal baery voltage: 24 V;
supported baery types: lithium, lead acid, lead AGM, lead gel
IMPORTANT: When connecng the cables, be aware of the polarity! The Ecoport can only
operate with a baery. The baery is not included in the delivery.
