1. Device Description
Nextometer is a device to help maintain social distancing. If worn, it produces acoustic and visual alerts as well as vibration if
another device is detected within the set range.
The device does not detect the position of the wearer in any way. The only data stored by the same (identification number
and time track of the interactions) have a totally anonymous form.

Nextometer can be worn on the arm

4. Switching Device ON
First Use
It is in general advisable to fully recharge the device. Connect the turned OFF device to a power source through the provided
Micro USB cable. Once this step has been carried out, the multifunction button (2) will start flashing red every 10 seconds, thus
indicating the state of charge in progress of the device. When the unit is at full charge the button (2) will provide be brightly lit and
all green. Once this condition is reached the system can be switched ON by keeping the multifunction button (2) pressed until a
sound is emitted. Device will provide a flashing green indication and will be ready to use.

Daily Use
Battery duration is sufficient to cover a typical work day. Low battery level will be indicated by a red flashing of the multifunction
button (2). Daily recharging is recommended to ensure 100% performance.
The battery charge status is visible only while the system is OFF and connected to a power source.
5. Switching device OFF
Hold the multifunction button (2) down for several seconds until you hear a high-pitched tone. Release the button after you hear
the high-pitched tone.
6. What does pushing the multifunction (2) button do?
•Push it once: statistical risk indicator visualization. Shows how many events have been recorded
•Push it 3 times in a row: reset the statistical risk indicator. Daily event logger goes to zero (stored events will not be erased)
•While plugged into a charger, occasional flashing red: charge is in progress
•While plugged into a charger, solid green lights: charge is complete
•While operating, blinking green light: all good, battery level OK
•While operating, blinking red light: low battery level
7. Risk indicator
The risk indicator alerts wearers if they’re too close to someone else. The first alert is a triple red flash combined with an audible
alert and vibration. Any prolonged stay will produce a triple alarm.
Nextometer is the only device of its kind which shows users how they’re doing throughout the day. Here’s how it works:
Events are logged in the device. An event is any two or more units coming within 1.5m/5 feet for more than 15 seconds. Events
between 2.5m/8 feet and 1.5m/5 feet are also considered with statistical risk reduced to 1/10.
You can check how you’re doing by pushing the multifunction button (2). The risk indicator will light up indicating events.
•All 5 green LEDs lit up: no events recorded
•Simultaneous 5 red LEDs: data recording is not active

8. Device Forced Restart
To perform a forced reboot of the device press the reset button (4). Button can be reached using a simple paper clip.
