BRAKE ADJUSTMENT
The brake on this unit is a disc cal iper type . Toke
the following s
teps to ad just:
1. If the broke is too loose an d ne eds tightening,
loosen the two a llen screws as shown in Figure 5. Pull
brake
cable tig ht an d tighten a llen screws.
2. If further adj ustment is needed .eemcve cott er
pin from the costle nut on the broke arm and tighten
ca stle nut down until the broke

the drive sprockets.
8. R
emo ve the set screw in the colla r at both ends
of
the drive shoft. There is a notch in each coll ar. In-
sert a punch into the notch. Top the punch lightl y to
loosen the collar (See Figure 2).
9. Remove the three screws wh ich secure the chain
ccse cover lSee Figure 21.
10. Remove the bolt a nd
washer from the end of
the drive
shaft (See Figure 3). Top on the dr ive sproc-
kets with a ha
mme r. Top them to the right side. This
will free the drive sh
aft from the g ea r sha ft.

in place. Slide
them off the left end of the drive sh aft .

repair sprock et s.
13. Rea
ssemb le in oppos ite ord er.
14. When replacing the drive sha ft into
the gea r
case , al ign the l arge sprocket a nd the s pacer behind
it with your fin
ge r before inserting the drive shaft
[See Figure 4). Insert
shaf t and a li gn notches on the
end of the drive s haft with t hos e on the sprocket in
the ge
ar ca se. Follow instructions under T RA CK ALIGN·
MENT,
and T RA CK TENSION ADJUSTMENT w hen reas-
sembly is comple
ted .

CARBURETOR ADJUSTMENTS

gear case
can be mov ed opproxim at ely V. inch forword or bock-
w ard . Move the gea r case forwa rd to ti ght en th edrive
belt
and move it b ac k ward to loosen the be lt. When
adjustmen t is complet ed , ti ght en f asten ers ma rked "A"
an d " B" a s shown in Figures 6 and 7.

INTO SEATS. The single ca rbu retor u sed is a Tillo tso n
Mode l HRCa rburetor. For best results the eng ine sh oul d
be wa rm when fi nal corb uretor e d jos tme nts a re ma de .

1. STARTING A COLD ENGINE -C lose cho ke and
cronk engine . After the engine storts move the choke
to. the open pos ition.
2.
STARTING A WARM ENGINE - It should be s tart ed
with the choke open. The choke is
shown in Figu re 8.
3. TO ADJUST
