GENERAL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
WARNING! Read all safety warnings and all
instructions. Failure to follow the warnings and instructions
may result in electric shock, re and/or serious injury. Save

operated (corded) power tool or battery-operated (cordless)

1) WORK AREA SAFETY

motor’s fan will draw the dust inside the housing and
excessive accumulation of powdered metal may cause
electrical hazards.

2) KICKBACK AND RELATED WARNINGS
Kickback is a sudden reaction to a pinched or snagged
rotating wheel, backing pad, brush or any other
accessory. Pinching or snagging causes rapid stalling
of the rotating accessory which in turn causes the
uncontrolled power tool to be forced in the direction
opposite of the accessory’s rotation at the point of the
binding.
For example, if an abrasive wheel is snagged or pinched
by the workpiece, the edge of the wheel that is entering
into the pinch point can dig into the surface of the
material causing the wheel to climb out or kick out. The

wheel may either jump toward or away from the operator,
depending on the direction of the wheel’s movement at
the point of pinching. Abrasive wheels may also break
under these conditions.
Kickback is the result of power tool misuse and/or
incorrect operating procedures or conditions and can be
avoided by taking proper precautions as given below.

OPERATIONS
a) When sanding, do not use excessively oversized
sanding disc paper. Follow the manufacturers’
recommendations when selecting sanding paper.
Larger sanding paper extending beyond the sanding
pad presents a laceration hazard and may cause
snagging, tearing of the disc, or kickback.
4) SAFETY WARNINGS SPECIFIC FOR POLISHING
a) Do not allow any loose portion of the polishing
away or trim any loose attachment strings. Loose
and spinning attachment strings can entangle your
ngers or snag on the workpiece.

When too much paint is embedded into cleaning disc D
②, clean the disc as follows:
-run the disc momentarily on a concrete sidewalk or a
large concrete block for knocking the paint loose from
the disc
-ensure the cleaning surface is stable
!never immerse the cleaning disc into a solvent
such as turpentine
If the tool should fail despite the care taken in
manufacturing and testing procedures, repair should
be carried out by an after-sales service centre for SKIL

2) CONTRECOUP ET AVERTISSEMENTS
CORRESPONDANTS
Un contrecoup est une réaction soudaine causée par un
accessoire en rotation qui s’accroche ou qui se bloque,
tels que meule, plateau de ponçage, brosse métallique,
etc. Un coinçage ou un blocage entraîne un arrêt
soudain de l’accessoire en rotation. Il en résulte que
l’outil électroportatif incontrôlé est accéléré à l’endroit du
blocage dans le sens inverse de l’accessoire.
Par ex., si une meule s’accroche ou si elle se bloque
dans la pièce, le bord de la meule qui entre dans la
pièce peut se coincer et faire que la meule se déplace
ou causer un contrecoup. En fonction du sens de
rotation de la meule à l’endroit de blocage, la meule
s’approche ou s’éloigne alors de l’utilisateur. Les meules
peuvent également casser.
Un contrecoup est la suite d'une mauvaise utilisation
ou une utilisation incorrecte de l’outil électroportatif. Il
peut être évité en prenant des mesures de précaution
comme celles décrites ci-dessous.
a) Bien tenir l’outil électroportatif et se mettre
dans une position permettant de faire face à des
forces de contrecoup. Utiliser toujours la poignée
supplémentaire, s’il y en a une, pour contrôler
au maximum les forces de contrecoup ou les
couples de réaction lors de l’accélération à pleine

das Werkzeug eine Minute lang mit Höchstdrehzahl
laufen. Beschädigtes Zubehör brecht meist in dieser

Elektrowerkzeugs. Das Motorgebläse zieht Staub
in das Gehäuse, und eine starke Ansammlung von
Metallstaub kann elektrische Gefahren verursachen.

Elektrowerkzeug gegen die Drehrichtung des Zubehörs
an der Blockierstelle beschleunigt.
Wenn z. B. eine Schleifscheibe im Werkstück hakt oder
blockiert, kann sich die Kante der Schleifscheibe, die
in das Werkstück eintaucht, verfangen und dadurch
die Schleifscheibe ausbrechen oder einen Rückschlag
verursachen. Die Schleifscheibe bewegt sich dann
auf die Bedienperson zu oder von ihr weg, je nach

Drehrichtung der Scheibe an der Blockierstelle. Hierbei
können Schleifscheiben auch brechen.
Ein Rückschlag ist die Folge eines falschen oder
fehlerhaften Gebrauchs des Elektrowerkzeugs. Er kann
durch geeignete Vorsichtsmaßnahmen, wie nachfolgend
beschrieben, verhindert werden.

Beim Schleifen von Metall entstehen Funken;

andere Personen sowie brennbare Materialien von
Ihrem Arbeitsbereich fern
Wird bei der Arbeit das Kabel beschädigt oder
durchtrennt, Kabel nicht berühren, sondern sofort den
Netzstecker ziehen
Werkzeug nicht weiter verwenden, wenn das
Kabel beschädigt ist; lassen Sie dieses von einem
anerkannten Elektrofachmann ersetzen
Bei elektrischer oder mechanischer Fehlfunktion das
Werkzeug sofort ausschalten und den Netzstecker
ziehen
Bei Unterbrechung der Stromversorgung oder
versehentlichem Ziehen des Netzsteckers das
Werkzeug sofort abschalten, um unkontrollierten
Wiederanlauf zu verhindern
