1. The front grille of the Superb model is unique at
a closer look, yet it is designed to resemble the front
grilles of all current Škoda models, being one of the
characteristic features of the brand. The traditional
vertical bars formed by wide lamellas, which point
from the center to the rim of the vehicle, represent
not only an important design component, but also
support the front grille’s function by directing air flow
to the radiator. Directly below the front grille, at the
lower part of the bumper, is an inlet for air intake,
which may be lined with a chrome strip. This softens
the sharp image of the vehicle and the Superb greets
you with a double smile.
2. Bi-Xenon headlamps with AFS (Adaptive
Front Light System), besides serving their functional
purpose, also contribute to
the looks of the car.
With the sharply cut shape
and expansion toward the
sides, they give a dynamic
expression to the Superb. A detail that cannot be
ignored is the trim of the lower part. The windscreen
washer cover is located here. However, it is painted
in the body colour and so the unique lines of the
headlamps may stand out undisturbed. As for their
functionality, the Bi-Xenon headlamps of the Superb
are fascinating not only for their excellent luminous
intensity, but also for their new adaptive system.
This enables modification of the shape of the beam
and so the lighting is adapted to various driving
conditions. The AFS works in several different
modes: extra-urban (similar mode to the low beam
headlamps), urban (wider and shorter distribution
of the light beam) and motorway (long light beam).
The AFS further offers the “rain” functionality intended
for driving in poor visibility caused either by rain or
heavy snowing. In addition, the Bi-Xenon headlamps
are equipped with rotary modules which illuminate
turns as you drive through them.
3. Chrome strips around the side windows are
a genuinely impressive matter. On the exterior,
chrome represents a seal of luxury.
4. and 5. Chrome protective door strips and
a strip on the luggage compartment cover are
accessories that also highlight the exclusivity of the
vehicle. The central placement of the Superb name
on the cover softens the
robustness of the imposing
rear and evokes a feeling
of grandeur.
6. The rear combined lights represent another
significant and unmistakable design component.
The lights wrap around the sides, giving the vehicle
a wider appearance, and also making it more visible
from the side. The traditional letter C, which becomes
pronounced when the lights are turned on, lends this
model a distinct Škoda look.
7. The double exhaust tailpipe is proof that
elegance can also look sporty. The end of the exhaust
is also more resistant thanks to the use of stainless
steel.

buttons, optimised for the layout of the whole
dashboard. The list of offered functions is very
long, and it meets even exceptional expectations
(for more information see page 28).
7. The Columbus navigation system exceeds
the functionality of the common navigation
devices. In combination with a TV tuner, it also
allows watching TV broadcasts or browsing
teletext pages (for more information see page 28).
8. The Sound System with a 10-channel
amplifier plus a digital equaliser and ten
speakers will make the experience comparable
to one in a concert hall. The device is available
in combination with the Bolero radio or with
one of the two navigation systems we offer.
9. The MDI (Mobile Device Interface) is
a connector located in the Jumbo Box that
enables, using cables with iPod, Aux-in or USB
sockets from the Škoda Genuine Accessories
range, control of an external device through radio
or Škoda navigation, and playing MP3, WMA,
OGG, AAC or a playlist saved on the external
device. The data from the played track is
displayed on both the radio and the navigation
display and Maxi DOT. The audio jack enables
the easy connection of external devices, e.g.
an iPod, pocket PC, Walkman, CD player, etc.
10. The dashboard with the Maxi DOT
display is very well arranged. It brings data
from the vehicle’s on-board computer (outside
temperature, average speed, etc.) into the
driver’s field of sight.

1., 2. and 3. The multifunctional 3-spoke
leather steering wheel offers you control
over a radio, telephone and automatic gearing
in its “top” version. The controls are organised
so that the lower gears are on the left side and
higher on the right side. The multifunctional
steering wheel cooperates exclusively with
the state-of-the-art DSG double-clutch
automatic transmission. The multifunctional
4-spoke leather steering wheel enables
control of the functions of a radio and
telephone.
4. The GSM II phone preparation, available
both with and without a holder, is designed
for devices supporting Bluetooth technology
as the communication between the telephone
and the control unit is exclusively wireless.
We also offer a GSM III set for phones
supporting rSAP (remote SIM Access Profile).
This enables downloading data from
a SIM card and a telephone directly into
the memory of the control unit, which will
mediate displaying a phone book on the
Maxi DOT display.
5. Automatic 7-speed DSG transmission (Direct
Shift Gearbox) represents a unique technology.
With a seventh gear, DSG transmissions have even
smoother shifting and, therefore, the maximum
utilisation of the potential of the engine’s torque.
It is exclusively available for the 1.8 TSI/118kW
engine version. A complete overview of engine

values can be found on page 34.

A sense of safety and enjoyment from a ride. Peace of mind as well
as adrenaline. Being deliberate and being carefree. These are opposites,
which only meet at one place. A place where you can rely on exceptional
safety equipment.

1. Head airbags will create a wall when
activated, which protects passengers in the
front, as well as in the rear, from a head injury.
2. Driver and passenger airbags are effective
protection in the event of a head-on collision.
3. Deactivation of a passenger airbag can
be performed if you have a child seat in the
front. It can be carried out using the ignition
key in the storage compartment in front of
the passenger seat.
4. The knee airbag located underneath
the steering column protects the driver’s knees
and shins. This is its first time in a Škoda vehicle,
and its presence is announced by a label on
the side of the dashboard.
5. and 6. Side airbags in the front are
designed for protection of the pelvis and
chest. The same applies to the side airbags
in the rear located on the sides of the rear
seats, between the backrests and the doors.
7. The third headrest in the rear reduces
the risk of a head or neck injury to a passenger
riding in the middle rear seat.
8. and 9. The rain sensor automatically
activates the front Aero-wipers based on
the rain intensity, applying even pressure on
the glass and, therefore, wiping evenly along
their whole length.
10. Safety lights on the panelling of the front
and rear doors alert drivers passing around
an open vehicle and prompt them to maintain
a sufficient distance.
11. Front fog lamps with the Corner
functionality can, of course, be utilised as
very effective fog lamps. If the fog lamp switch
is off and the headlamps are on, the Corner
function is activated when maneuvering the
car at speeds of up to 40 km/h, depending
on the steering wheel position or the
indicator lights. It automatically activates
either right or left fog lamp. Therefore,
the driver is alerted to possible obstacles
on an unlit road in time.
12. and 13. Parking sensors are available in
two versions: either with rear sensors or with
both front and rear sensors. However, the
Superb may also be equipped with the Parking
Assistant, which utilises four front as well as
four rear sensors and an additional two sensors
for its operation. This wonderful technical
device not only simplifies vehicle handling,
it literally parks for you. While the Parking
Assistant operates the steering wheel, a driver
only uses the accelerator and the brake.
14. Deactivation of interior monitoring
and the inclination sensor located on the
B-column on the driver’s side will partially limit
alarm functionality and, therefore, for example,
your dog may wait for a while in a locked
vehicle without setting off the alarm.

One intersection may bring together two worlds. Comfort and
practicality. When they meet, practical comfort is born. Nothing here
is without purpose. Everything conforms to the highest demands for
comfort, yet has a simple, useful function.

1. The dashboard evokes a feeling of comfort at first sight, as well as at
first touch. The placement of individual control components was designed
so that you can become oriented quickly and easily behind the steering
wheel. The controls are at an arm’s length and in places where you would
expect them intuitively. The new generation steering wheels for Superb
are available in several designs, which differ in their shape, material,
and functions offered. However, each of them makes driving a pleasure
because the Superb is controlled accurately and easily.
2. ESP marks the button for activation/deactivation of the Electronic
Stability Programme, which controls the braking and minimises the risk
of skidding.
However, a comfortable and safe drive is supervised by a wide array of
electronic systems, which ensure good steering control of the vehicle in
various situations. The ABS (Anti-lock Braking System), including the MSR
(engine drag moment control) and ASR (Anti-Slip Regulation) are the
standard components of the brake system of every Superb model, as well
as the Dual Rate brake booster, which contributes to a shorter braking
distance in critical situations. Based on the vehicle version or upon
request, the equipment is (or may be) expanded with the ESP (Electronic
Stability Programme), including EDS (Electronic Differential Lock) and HBA
(Hydraulic Brake Assistant).
3. The Tyre Pressure Monitoring is a system that utilises data from
the ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) sensors. Any decrease in tyre pressure
is manifested by a change in revolution speed of the under-inflated tyre
compared to the others and a warning light on the instrument panel will
alert the driver about the inconsistency.
4. Turning off the parking sensors can be useful, for example,
in heavy city traffic.
5. The Parking Assistant is designed to facilitate parallel parking in a row
of vehicles. When you find an appropriate spot, press the button located
to the right of the gearshift bar, shift into reverse, and let the system work
the front wheels. As soon as the rear sensors indicate an obstacle behind
the vehicle with the use of a constant uninterrupted tone, you finish
the parking maneuver on your own, with the help of the front and rear
sensors.
6. Heating of the rear seats is regulated by a separate control on
the rear side of the Jumbo Box. In cold weather, this convenient feature
contributes to the comfort of your ride at any time. It is supplied
exclusively in combination with heating of the front seats.
7. The electrically adjustable driver seat is equipped with memory,
which can store three different positions of the seat and the external
mirrors.
8. The heated front windscreen will quickly clear frost or steam.
