Remove
the
hopperlid.
The
crankhandle
and
carrystrap
are
locatedinside.
Mounting
the
CrankHandle
•
Place
the
spreader
onits
rightside
(as
viewed
from
operator'sposition),
figure

Find
the
threadedcrankshaft
and
affix
the
crankhandle
ina
clockwise
motion,
tighten
the
jambnutagainst
the
crankhandle.
CarryStrap
•
Stand
the
spreaderupright
at
aboutwaistlevel
ona
table,bench
or
stand.
•
Adjust
the
strap
toits
longestreach.
•
Attach
the
straphook
tothetop
right
eyeonthe
spreader
(as
viewed
from
operator'sposition).Figure

back

the
Spreader
Yourspreader
is
adjustable
for
bothvolume
and
direction.Four
factors
determine
the
volume
and
direction.Theyare:
FlowLimiter
Stop

This
brass
locking
knob
allows
youtosetthe
hopperopening
toa fixed
position
for
consistentdelivery
of
material
tothe
propeller.
FlowRateLever
-
Lookdowninto
the
hopper
to
observe
howthe
dropchuteopeningvaries
asyou
adjust
the
flowrate lever.
DirectionalLever
-
Thiscontroladjusts
the
pointwhere
the
material
istobe
deposited
onthe
impeller
and
consequently,
the
width
of
spread.

initial

wise
to
partly
fill
the
hopper
and
practicespreading

making
adjustments.
Replace
hopper
lid- thelid
preventsspillage
and
helpskeepdust
and
othermaterialaway
from
the
operator.
When
spreadingchemicals
be
sure
to
wearprotectiveclothing,respirator
andeye
protection.
Do
not
loadhopperwhilecarryingspreader.
OpreatingInstructions
Set
spreader
ona
surface
to
safely
and
conveniently
fitthe
carrystrap
as
outlined
in
assemblysection.
Set
deflector
to
desiredposition.
Adjust
spreadingdirectionlever
tothe
desiredposition.
Directional
changes
can
also
be
made
simply
by
walking
inthe
desireddirection.
Whileturning
the
crankhandlewithyourrighthand,move
the
flow
rateleverwith
the
left
hand
to
adjust
flow
rate.Flowlimiterstopwillcontrol
flow
rate.Caution:Keephandaway
from
rotatingimpeller.
After
use,turn
the
flowratelever
tothe
closed(zero)position.Crank
the
handleseveraltimes
to
makesure
no
materialresidue
is
attached
to
impeller.Clean
the
wholeunitthoroughlyusingsoap
and
water.
