Precautions
• Do not continuously use the speaker system beyond the
peak power handling capacity.
• Keep recorded tapes, watches,
and personal credit cards
using magnetic coding away from the speaker system to
protect them from damage caused by the magnets in the
speakers.
Caution
When using the speakers with an amplifier or power booster
employing the
BTL (balanced transformerless) system, be sure
to connectthespeakersystem cords directly to the
amplifierspeakercords.
If the connection is made through
alreadyexisting speakercords which have a common e lead for
both the right and left channels, it is possible that no sound will
be heard, and that the amplifier will be damaged.
If you cannot find an appropriate mounting location, consult
your car dealer or your nearestSony dealer before mounting.
Precautions

Precauciones
• Evite utilizar de forma continuada el sistema de altavoces
con una potencia que sobrepase su capacidad de potencia
maxima.
• Mantenga alejados del sistema de altavoces las cintas
grabadas, relojes 0 tarjetas de credito con codificaci6n

Mounting I Montage I Montaje
Before mounting
A depth of at least 55 mm (2 1 /4 in) is required to mount the woofer. Measure the depth of the area where you are
to
mount the speaker, and ensure that the speaker is not obstructing any other components of the car. Keep the
following in
mind when choosing a mountinglocation:
• Make sure that nothing
is obstructing around the mounting location of the door (front or rear) where you are
to
mount the speaker.
• A hole for mounting may already be cut out
of the inner panel of the door (front or rear). In this case, you need
to modifythe
board only.
•
If you are to mount this speaker system in the door (front or rear), make sure that the speaker terminals, frame
or magnet do not interfere with any inner parts, such as the window mechanism in the door (when you open or
close the window), etc.
Also make sure that the speaker grille does
not touch any inner fittings, such as the window cranks, door
handles,
arm rests, door pockets, lamps or seats etc.
• The suitable mounting location for the tweeters varies depending
on the type of car. Choose a location that
suits your car.
Avant le montage
Le montage du haut-parleur des basses necessite une profondeur d'au moins 55 mm (2 1 /4 po). Mesurez la
profondeur de !'emplacement
oi:t vous souhaitez installer le haut-parleur et assurez-vous que ce dernier ne genera
aucun des autres elements
du vehicule. Veuillez toujours garder les remarques suivantes en memoire lorsque vous
choisissez
un emplacement pour !'installation :
• Verifiez qu'il n'existe aucun obstacle autour de !emplacement
oi:t vous allez installer le haut-parleur dans la
portiere (avant
ou arriere).
•
Un orifice peut deja avoir ete pratique dans le panneau interne de la portiere (avant ou arriere). En pareil cas, il
ne vous reste plus qu'a modifier la plaque.
•
Si vous installez ce systeme de haut-parleurs dans la portiere (avant ou arriere), verifiez que les bornes, le cadre
ou l'aimant des haut-parleurs ne genent pas les elements internes comme le mecanisme de leve-vitres de Ia
portiere (lorsque vous baissez ou remontez Ia vitre), etc.
Verifiez egalement que
Ia grille du haut-parleur ne touche aucun des equipements internes comme les
manivelles des vitres, les poignees de portieres, les accoudoirs, les vide-poches des portieres, les lampes
ou les
sieges etc.
•
Lebon emplacement de montage des haut-parleurs d'aigues depend du type de voiture. Choisissez un
emplacement s'adaptant a Ia conception de votre voiture.
Antes del montaje
Debe existir una profundidad de 55 mm como minimo para instalar el altavoz de graves. Mida Ia profundidad del

Cuando elija

Ia ventanilla de Ia puerta (que se utiliza al subir o bajar Ia ventanilla), etc.
Asegt1rese tambien de que
Ia rejilla del altavoz no este en contacto con accesorios internos como, por ejemplo,
las manivelas de las ventanillas, los picaportes de las puertas, los reposabrazos, los compartimentos para
guardar objetos situados
en las puertas, las luces o los asientos etc.
•
Ellugar apropiado para el montaje de los altavoces de agudos varia segun el tipo de automovil. Escoja ellugar
que mejor se adecue a su autom6vil.

Consumer 1 Year Warranty
Sony of Canada Ltd. ("Sony") hereby warrants, subject to the terms and condi-
tions herein set forth, this product against defects in material and workman-
ship during the specified warranty period.ln the event of a defect of material or
workmanship during the specified warranty period, Sony will repair the same,
effecting all necessary parts replacements with either new or refurbished parts,
without charge for either parts or labour.
The warranty period is as follows:
Labour and Parts: ONE year from the date of original purchase at retail.
Conditions:
Unauthorized Modification, Repair, Abuse, Etc.:
This limited warranty is void if: (i) the unit has been previously altered, modi-
fied, installed or mounted for commercial use, or repaired or serviced by any-
one other than the service facilities authorized by Sony to render such ser-
vices, (ii) the serial number on the unit has been altered or removed, or (iii) the
unit has been subject to accident, misuse, abuse or operated contrary to the
instructions contained in the Owner's Manual. The opinion of Sony with re-
spect to this matter shall be final. ·
Commercial Use or Rental:
This product is not intended for commercial use or rental. Should this unit be
used at any time for commercial purposes or as a rental unit, the limited war-
ranty period for parts and labour shall be 90 days from the date of original
purchase at retail. The opinion of Sony with respect to.this matter shall be final.
Exclusions:
This limited warranty does not extend to broken or damaged cabinets, acces-
sories, batteries, exposed antennas and styluses, or to parts wearing out due
to normal wear and tear. This limited warranty does not cover regular product
maintenance such as cleaning, lubrication or check-ups.
This limited warranty covers only the hardware components packaged with the
product. It does not cover technical assistance for hardware or software usage
and it does not cover any software products whether or not contained in the
product. Any such software is provided "AS IS" unless expressly provided for

This limited warranty is valid only in Canada.
Delivery:
The unit must be delivered in person to one of the nearest Sony service facili-
ties in Canada, or shipped, freight prepaid, in either its original package or
similar package affording an equal degree of protection and with instructions
indicating a location within Canada to which the unit may be returned. If shipped
to the service facility, the repaired unit will be returned to customer freight
prepaid. All accessories that are enclosed with the unit must be listed individu-
ally on the packing slip for the shipping documentation. Defective accessories
should be shipped to Sony as a separate repair item. Sony shall have no liabil-
ity whatsoever for loss or damage in transit of items shipped to service facili-
ties. Any parts replaced under this limited warranty will become the property of
Sony. It is your responsibility to back up any data, software or other materi-
als you may have stored or preserved on your unit. It is likely that such data,
software, or other materials will be lost or reformatted during service and
Sony will not be responsible for any such damage or loss.
Proof of Purchase: .
This limited warranty applies to the product from the original date of purchase
at retail. The owner must furnish proof of original purchase at retail.
