OPERATION
Telescopic Antenna (for VHF)
Set the Antenna Switch to [ROD ANT].
Pull out the antenna and adjust the length,
direction and angle.
Loop Antenna (for UHF)
Connect the Loop Antenna to the UHF An-
tenna Terminals [UHF]. Swing it back and
forth, sideways to get the clearest picture.
PULL ON/VOL Control
To turn on the set, pull out this control.
Turn it clockwise to increase sound volume.
Push this control to turn off the set.
O Make sure that the Charging Switch at the
rear is in the upper position.
UHF Channel Selector [| UHF ]
After selecting the letter [U] on the VHF
Channel Selector, tune in the desired channel
by turning this selector precisely.
Earphone Jack | ® |
For private listening, insert the earphone
plug into this jack.
Recording Jack | & |
Connect this jack and the microphone jack
of your tape recorder with suitable con-
necting cord, you can record TV sound on
your tape recorder.
O The sound volume of TV has no effect on
the recording level.

FOR DIFFICULT RECEPTION AREAS
If satisfactory reception cannot be obtained
with the supplied antenna, use the external
antenna available on the market.
Connect as illustrated.
VHF Antenna
While using VHF
external antenna,
place the switch
to LEXT. ANT. ].

BATTERY OPERATION INSTRUCTIONS |
Outdoors or anyplace where a house current
is not available, you can enjoy TV program
with SONY Battery Pack BP-7/564 (optional).
Connect the cord of the battery pack to the
Battery Socket [BATT. 12V]. This battery
pack permits continuous or intermittent 3
hours of TV viewing.
For recharging
Complete the connection as illustrated.
Place the Charging Switch [CHARGE] to
the lower position and turn on the power.
While recharging, neither picture nor sound
will come out. Approximately 12 hours is
required for complete recharging.
O After recharging, be sure to replace the
Charging Switch to the upper position.
O Be sure not to overcharge the battery. to a wall outlet [BATT.12V] BP-7/564
To operate on auto/boat battery
Connect the SONY Car Battery Cord DCC-
2AW (optional) as illustrated.
For details, refer to the instructions of DCC-
2AW. Itis recommended to use the SONY
Car Antenna VCA-1 (for plain glass window),
VCA-1H (for framed glass window) or VCA-
2 (for roof-top of the car) with the External
Antenna Connector EAC-10 for better recep- to a cigarette „J EAC-10

NOTES
O Keep your set away from extremely hot
or humid places.
O Clean the cabinet with the supplied polish-
ing cloth. Never use solvents like thinner
or benzine for cleaning.
O When you do not use the set for more
than six months, disconnect the AC power
cord from a wall outlet.
