restricted access area.
Suitable for installation in Information
Technology Rooms in accordance with Article
645 of the National Electrical Code and NFPA
75.
Ensure to connect the power cord to a socket-
outlet with earthing connection.
This power supply is only supported on the
following models:
XGS 2100/2300/3100/3300/4300
Step 1
Locate the holes on the rear of the External power
supply and align them with the studs on the rear of the
XGS appliance.
Then push the power supply to the left until the studs
firmly hold the power supply.
Step 2
Tighten the screw on the right side of the power supply
to fix it to the XGS appliance. 2.

Step 3
Ensure that your existing rack mounting ears (or any
other fixation) which are holding your appliance are
stable enough to hold the additional weight of the
power supply. Otherwise, we recommend you to order
rackmount rails as accessory parts from your Sophos
partner.
If you are using Sophos rails please fix the power supply
to the right rail by using one of the supplied screws.
Step 4
Connect the DC power cable between the External
redundant power supply and the DC connector located
at the back side of the appliance.
Step 5
Plug an AC power cable to the External redundant power
supply and turn it ON.
The LED against label “Ext.” on the front side of your
appliance should turn green, indicating that the External
DC redundant Power supply is working properly.
If the LED is red, then the connected External redundant
Power supply is defective.*
If the LED is OFF, then the External redundant power
supply is not connected.

Geeignet für die Installation in Räumen der

Stellen Sie sicher, dass das Netzkabel an eine
Steckdose mit Erdung angeschlossen ist.
Diese Stromversorgung kann nur mit den
folgenden Modellen verwendet werden:

Schritt1
Richten Sie die Löcher auf der Rückseite der externen
Stromversorgung an den Bolzen auf der Rückseite der
XGS Appliance aus.
Schieben Sie die Stromversorgung anschließend nach
links, bis die Bolzen die Stromversorgung fest in Position
halten.
Schritt2
Befestigen Sie die Stromversorgung an der XGS
Appliance, indem Sie die Schraube auf der rechten Seite
der Stromversorgung anziehen.

Schritt3
Achten Sie darauf, dass die vorhandenen
Befestigungswinkel (oder eine andere Befestigung) Ihrer
Appliance stabil genug sind, um das zusätzliche Gewicht
der Stromversorgung zu tragen. Andernfalls empfehlen
wir, Rackmontageschienen als Zubehörteile bei Ihrem
Sophos-Partner zu bestellen.
Wenn Sie Sophos-Schienen verwenden, befestigen
Sie die Stromversorgung mit einer der mitgelieferten
Schrauben an der rechten Schiene.
Schritt4
Verbinden Sie die externe redundante Stromversorgung
über das DC-Netzkabel mit dem DC-Anschluss auf der
Rückseite der Appliance.
Schritt5
Schließen Sie ein AC-Netzkabel an die externe redun-
dante Stromversorgung an und schalten Sie diese ein.
Die LED bei „Ext.“ auf der Vorderseite der Appliance sollte
grün leuchten und damit anzeigen, dass die externe
redundante Stromversorgung einwandfrei funktioniert.
Leuchtet die LED rot, funktioniert die angeschlossene
externe redundante Stromversorgung nicht einwandfrei.*
Leuchtet die LED nicht, ist die externe redundante
Stromversorgung nicht angeschlossen.

Important
Pour les équipements destinés uniquement à

Étape1
Repérez les trous à l’arrière de l’alimentation externe
et alignez-les avec les goujons à l’arrière de l’appliance
XGS.
Poussez ensuite l’alimentation vers la gauche jusqu’à
ce que les goujons maintiennent fermement le bloc
d’alimentation.

Serrez la vis située sur le côté droit de l’alimentation
pour la fixer à l’appliance XGS.

Assurez-vous que les équerres de montage en rack
existantes (ou toute autre fixation) qui maintiennent
votre appliance sont suffisamment stables pour
supporter le poids supplémentaire de l’alimentation.
Sinon, nous vous recommandons de commander des
rails de montage en rack comme pièces accessoires
auprès de votre partenaire Sophos.
Si vous utilisez des rails Sophos, fixez l’alimentation au
rail approprié en utilisant l’une des vis fournies.

Connectez le câble d’alimentation DC entre
l’alimentation redondante externe et le connecteur DC
situé à l’arrière de l’appliance.
Étape5
Branchez un câble d’alimentation AC sur le bloc
d’alimentation externe redondant et mettez-le sous
tension.
Le voyant situé sur la face avant de l’appliance, portant
l’étiquette «Ext.», doit devenir vert, ce qui indique
que l’alimentation redondante DC externe fonctionne
correctement.
Si le voyant est rouge, l’alimentation redondante externe
connectée est défectueuse.*

Si le voyant est éteint, l’alimentation redondante externe
n’est pas connectée.
