The lightning ash with arrow-head symbol within an equilateral
triangle is intended to alert the user to the presence of uninsulated
"dangerous voltage" within the unit’s enclosure that may be of
sucient magnitude to constitute a risk of electric shock.
The exclamation point within an equilateral triangle is intended to alert
the user to the presence of important operating and maintenance
(servicing) instructions in the literature accompanying the unit.

1. All the safety and operating instructions should be read, followed,
adhered to and retained for future reference.
2. The unit should not be used near water, such as a bathtub,
swimming pool, washbowl, kitchen sink, laundry tub or in a
wet basement.

not spilled onto the unit.
4. Do not reach for unit if it has fallen into water.
Unplug it immediately.
5. The unit should be situated away from heat sources, such as
radiators, heat registers, stoves, or other appliances (including

such as transformers, electric motors or other electronic devices.
To avoid distortion created by such sources, it is advised that you
place the unit as far away from such sources as possible.
7. Do not apply excessive force when using any switches or controls.

be walked on or pinched by items placed on or against them,
paying particular attention to cords at plugs, convenience
receptacles and the point where they exit from the unit. 5

11. The unit is equipped with an attachment plug with overload
protection. This is a safety feature. If replacement of the plug is
required, be sure the service technician has used a replacement

to these basic needs first.
• Do not place the unit in bed with the baby.
• Do not put the unit, AC cord or any headphones that may be used
with the unit within the baby’s reach.

• These sounds will normally start to soothe your baby in a few
seconds or up to 10 minutes.
• Playing these sounds at moderate to high volume is generally
effective, but you may need to adjust the volume based on the
distance of the unit from your baby and other noise in the room.
Generally speaking, placing the unit 18 inches from your baby’s

Your unit can be turned on by rotating the On/O Volume
Control to the desired volume level. When rst turned on,
your unit will automatically play its factory sound setting –
WHITE NOISE.
(ii) SELECTING SOUNDS:
Your unit has six (6) sounds. To play any sound, press the
Sounds Button until you reach your desired sound. An LED
light will illuminate to show the sound that is selected.
12

(iii) VOLUME ADJUSTMENT:
To adjust the volume of sound playback, rotate the
On/Off Volume Control to your desired volume.
(iv) TIMER:
Select the length of time you want the sound to be
played by sliding the Timer Control to the desired
setting. Four (4) positions are available: “Continuous” for
constant playback; “30” for 30 minutes, “60” for 60
minutes and “90” for 90 minutes.
To provide a non-jarring off, in the “30”, “60”, or “90”
minute timer positions, the sound gradually fades away
in the last 10 minutes of play before turning off.
(v) STOPPING SOUND PLAYBACK:
In addition to the timer feature, your unit may be turned
off manually by turning the On/Off Volume Control off.
13

SLEEP ENHANCEMENT® FEATURE:
Sleep Center research has proven that a gradual slowing of
sounds helps promote better sleep and relaxation. We’ve
taken that research and worked with its pioneer, the world
renown sound therapist, Dr. Jerey Thompson, Director of
the Center for Neuroacoustic Research in Encinitas,
California, to bring this exciting technique to BabyOasis™.
This safe, patented Sleep Enhancement® technique works
as follows:
• When activated, the playback speed of your unit’s six (6)
sounds will gradually slow down over a 20 minute period
to gently lull your baby/child to sleep.
• Once the playback speed reaches its slowest point (close
to one half of normal speed) at the 20 minute mark, the
playback speed will remain at this level until the unit
automatically turns itself o (with the 30, 60 or 90 minute
timer) or until you manually turn the unit o.
14

To use the Sleep Enhancement® feature, please follow
these steps:
1. Turn your unit on (if not already on) and press the Sleep
Enhance Button to activate the Sleep Enhancement®
feature. The Sleep Enhance Button will illuminate to
signal that the Sleep Enhancement® feature is “on”.
2. Press the Sound Selector Button until you reach your
desired sound. Upon reaching your chosen sound, the
unit will playback that sound in a sleep enhanced manner,
as described above.
3. To turn the Sleep Enhancement® feature “o”, press the
Sleep Enhancement Button a second time.

DESCRIPTION OF SOUNDS
BabyOasis™ incorporates the most advanced sound therapy
available. Developed by Dr. Jeffrey Thompson from his years of
practice at the Center for Neuroacoustic Research, these
sounds create a soothing, therapeutic environment that have
been proven to help babies and children relax and sleep better.
With six (6) unique sound selections, some parents may discov-
er and use one sound continually, while others may use differ-
ent sounds over time for variety, transition to a new age level,
etc. The six (6) sounds are listed and described below.
White Noise: The steady flow of a cascading waterfall is perfect
as a “natural white noise”. Profoundly calming to infants (or
adults), this natural sound blocks out disturbing noises and
shares many of the natural sounds that we all heard when we
were in our mother’s womb.
Prenatal: This scientifically and acoustically correct sound is
what a fetus hears in the womb. Inferior competitive record-
ings of a womb do not compensate for the fact that a fetus’
middle ear and ear canal are filled with fluid. This version takes
all of these factors into consideration for true authenticity and
maximum effectiveness.
16

Lullaby: A delightful melody provides a happy and soothing
sound. Professionally composed, this sound avoids
recognizable “loops” common with simpler sounds found in
competitive sound conditioners.
Dolphins:
This peaceful sound combines the sound of ocean surf
with 3D recordings of dolphins as they swim and sing around you.
Car Ride: Many new parents discover that their children almost
magically fall asleep to the rhythmic motion and sound of a car.
This authentic recording of the inside of a moving car blends a
pulsating murmur with white noise to recreate a soothing
environment without the hassle of driving around the block!
Heartbeat: Most babies are soothed by the sound and pulse of
a moderately relaxed heartbeat. This authentic recording
provides an ideal beat and rhythm for babies, children, adults
and even young pets.
Dr. Thompson is recognized as one of the world’s leading
experts in sound therapy. He has created over 60 CDs
which are sold in 26 countries and is a consummate
musician and composer in his own right.
Dr. Thompson has appeared on Fox Evening News, CNN,
Time/Life, various radio programs and quoted in the Wall Street Journal,
Washington Post, San Diego Magazine and Psychology Today.
