your personal protectors
These individual manufactured reusable level dependent/active
hearing protectors are class 2 personal protector devices.
Soundscope pro-tect iHunt is constructed to be used during
hunting and has been designed to give good protection
against strong impulse sounds such as shots from hand held
guns, e.g. rifles, hand guns.
Soundscope pro-tect iHunt is not designed for being used
against continuous noises, e.g. in an industrial environment.
To ensure you that you get the most use of your protectors,
please read the user instruction, follow all instruction in it
and listen to advice from your dealer. Failure to follow those
instructions and advice may severely impair the protection
provided by your protectors.

protect your hearing
It is important you are using your protectors all the time
when using guns. Remember that soundscope pro-tect
iHunt is purely classed as a hunting hearing protecting
device and can not be used in other noisy environments.
Correct usage will strongly reduce, but not fully eliminate
the risk to injure your hearing due to gun noise and/or other
noise.
Frequent controls of your hearing is recommended in order
to be able to follow eventual changes of your hearing.
Hearing impairment may occur due to many reasons such
as sickness, medication, natural aging and/or exposure to
noise/strong sounds.

batteries
Your protectors use battery size 13 (orange). It is important
that you use the right size and type of battery for your
protectors. Battery size 13 may be recognized by the number
13 and/or the orange colour on the battery package.
Due to its size, it is recommended that you change battery
over a table in order not to drop your protector and/or the
battery.
Note: In the protectors there is an tone that indicates when it
is time to change battery.
change batteries
1. Open the battery compartment with the nail grip on the
edge an pull carefully outward.
2. Used batteries are removed by pushing battery upwards.
DO NOT push the battery against the side of the battery
compartment.
3. Remove the tab in order to activate the battery.
4. Place the new battery in the compartment with the plus
marking (+) upwards.
5. Close the battery compartment properly. The door
snaps through with a little ”click”. Do not use more than
necessary strength to close the door since it may cause
damage to your protectors.

Since batteries may differ in size and type, please ask your
dealer about batteries, in order to get the right type.
Dispose of used batteries
immediately, using proper waste or
recycling receptacle.
• Keep away from kids and/or animals in order to avoid
them swallowing the batteries.
• Always check your medication before ingesting - batteries
have been mistaken for pills.
• Never put batteries in your mouth for any reasons, as they
can easily be unintentionally swallowed.
inserting and removing the protectors
Before the protector is inserted in the ear, make sure that the
battery is properly placed in the battery compartment door,
and that the door is fully closed.
Important information about batteries

To insert your protector, hold it between your thumb and
forefinger with the volume control away downwards from the
opening of the ear canal. The battery compartment should
be facing away from your ear canal. Carefully insert the
protector into your ear.
Carefully rotate you protector until it is comfortably sitting
inside the bowl of your ear. Pull your earlobe down slightly
and press on the instrument to ensure it is firmly in place.
It is important that your protectors are properly inserted in
order to give maximum protection against strong sounds.
NEVER use the battery compartment door to insert
or remove the protectors. Damage may occur, as
the door is not designed to whistand the pressure.
Make sure you have clean hands when inserting
the protectors.

12
OPERATION MANUAL
soundscope pro-tect iHunt
In order to remove the protector, grip it between your thumb
and forefinger and slowly turn it at the same time as you pull
it from the ear.
Be careful! The ear canal may be sore and/or irritated.
on/off and volume levels
On/Off is built in the volume control. The protector is on when
turning the volume control upwards/frontal to your face. To
increase volume keep on turning. See figure 1 below.
It is a good idea to turn down the volume before placing the
protector in your ear in order to avoid strong sounds. When
in correct position the volume control can be adjusted to
preferred setting.
When two protectors are used it is important that you
balance the sound from the two protectors in order to get as
good directionality as possible. Due to hearing impairment,
you may need to have different volume settings for your ears.
21

OPERATION MANUAL
soundscope pro-tect iHunt
13
In order to decrease the volume, turn the volume control
downwards/back from your face. See figure 2 above. When
reaching the end a small click can be heard and the protector
is Off.
If the protectors are whistling when on and during volume
adjustments, this is called feedback.
Feedback: Amplified sound leaks from the ear and is
reinforced via the microphone back into the ear. This may
occur while inserting and/or removing the protectors and at
volume adjustments. Normally the whistling sound should go
away when the hand is removed from the ear.
If feedback problem remains, although the protector is
properly inserted and/or the level is set to a proper level,
please contact your dealer.
For optimal functionality use of communication radio and/or
external equipment, these are best connected via an active
or passive neck loop and by using the telecoil memories on
your protectors.
Please contact your dealer for further information.

14
OPERATION MANUAL
soundscope pro-tect iHunt
Note: While using a telecoil memory, a zooming noise may
be heard in the protectors. This comes from magnetic fields
picked up by the telecoil in the protectors. This may occur
when close to transformers, power lines, power stations
and/or other electrical equipment.
memory settings
The protectors have four different memories to choose from,
which makes it possible to adapt them for the situation you
are in at the moment.
Just push the memory button to change memory. Each time
you press, you’ll make a memory change. While changing
memory you’ll hear signals, one for memory one, two for
memory two, three for memory three and four for memory
four. When in memory four, the next push gets you back to
memory one.
After being shut down, the protectors always start in
memory one.
WARNING: be careful when using a neck loop and/
or equal equipment, since these may get caught in
protruding objects.

taking care of the protectors
Your protectors are designed to work in many different
environments, but heat, moist and foreign particles may
deteriorate the function of the protectors.
In order to maximize the protectors life and functionality, it is
important that you regularly maintain them.
Always check the protectors at the beginning of the season
and also test them in your ear in order to detect damages
and/or errors in functionality.
If there any visible cracks or if they sit too hard/loose in the
ear, or if there is distortion, please contact your dealer.

16
OPERATION MANUAL

cleaning your protectors
A brush may help to keep your protectors clean. Use the
brush after every day of use in order to remove debris and/or
other particles that may collect around the sound channel or
the battery compartment.
Brush carefully and wipe the shell with a soft and dry cloth.
Check the wax filter in the sound channel and when needed,
change. See separate leaflet for information about the wax
filter.
Never use any dissolving and/or cleaning liquids and/or
cleaning oils in cleaning the protectors. This product may be
adversely affected by certain chemical substances. Further
information should be sought from the manufacturer.
A good idea is to clean and change batteries over a table
with a soft underlay. This may stop the protectors being
damaged by falling against a hard surface.
avoid dampness
The protectors may not be exposed to high temperatures,
dampness or water.
Remove the protectors when showering, bathing or when
using a hairdryer or hair spray.

OPERATION MANUAL

17
Check clothing pockets before washing them. If the protectors
are wet DO NOT dry them in an oven, microwave or with a hair
dryer. The heat may damage the protectors.
Instead, remove the battery and place the protectors on a dry
cloth whilst keeping the battery compartment door open in
order for self drying.
storage
Always shut down you protectors when not in use. If they are
not to be used for some while, remove the batteries and keep
the protectors dry in an average room temperature in their
normal storage pouch and/or equal. Avoid direct sunlight and
heat.
service and repairs
Do not try to repair the protectors yourself since this may
damage the protectors and may affect the warranty and/or
insurance conditions.
If the protectors are not working, although having gone through
the check points on next page, please contact your dealer.

accessories for signal monitoring
For monitoring signal/s from hunter radios, communication
radios, MP-3 players, mobile phones etc, the protectors can
be used with different types of accessories.
By using memory 3 or 4 you can have a monitoring signal via
a neck loop or so called ear hooks which are placed behind
the ears. The loop system can be either passive or active,
the difference being if it has its own power or is driven by
the connected device. Some solutions make it possible to
connect Bluetooth enabled devices. Please contact your
dealer for more information about different solutions.
Always dispose electrical equipment
immediately, using proper waste or
recycling receptacle.
