the predrilled holes at ea h orner of the speaker.

(A) Use the larger screws to attach the foot to the cabinet.
(B) Place the cap over the bottom of the foot and attach it with the
three smaller screws.
(C) Apply the protective pad to the cap.

• Placing the loudspeakers at least 6-10 feet (1.8-3m)
apart will provide the best stereo sound and image.
• The shape of the room will affect the bass performance
especially when loudspeakers are placed in the corner of
the room.
• Positioning the tweeters so that they play at the listeners ear
level provides for optimum playback.
• Keeping the loudspeaker wire away from AC outlets will
reduce interference.
The shape of the listening room and the furnishings will change the
way your system sounds. The bass frequencies will generally be af-
fected by the positioning and treatment of the room. There will be
more perceived bass when a speaker is moved closer to a wall
boundary. In general however loudspeakers should be kept away
from sidewalls as much as possible as these surfaces can adversely
affect the stereo imaging experienced at the listening position. Posi-
tioning the loudspeakers at least 12-15” away from the sidewalls will
generally provide the best performance.

• Séparer les enceintes d’au moins 1.8-3 mètres ceçi vous donnera
une bonne définition stéréo.
• La forme de la pièce affectera les basses fréquences
particulièrement quand les enceintes sont près d’un coin.
• Les haut-parleurs d’aigus devraient être aux niveau des oreilles
pour une reproduction optimale.
• Le câblage devrait être posé le plus loin possible des prises
électriques afin d’éviter les interferences.
La forme de la salle d’écoute et l’ameublement changeront la
réponse de fréquence de votre système. Les basses fréquences sont
affectez par la position des haut-parleurs dans la salle. Plus l’en-
ceinte est proche d’un mur plus les basses fréquences seront mise
en évidence. Malgré ça l’enceinte devrait être le plus loin possible
des surfaces à réflexions car ceux-ci peuvent compromettre l’effet
stéréo à la position d'écoute. Positionnant les enceintes à environ
30-40cm des murs vous donnera généralement la meilleure perform-
ance.

CINÉMA-MAISON
Les Systèmes de cinéma-maison comprennent typiquement des en-
ceintes avants de côté et/ou arrière une enceinte centrale et un
sous-grave amplifié. En formant votre système avec des enceintes
d’un seul fabricant vous donnera la meilleure performance car les
caractéristiques sonores des enceintes seront indiques.
L’EFFET 3D
Pour maximiser l'effet à trois dimensions incroyablecréé par les haut-
parleurs de tour les dispose au moins6 pouces du mur postérieur.
Ceci permet au conducteurpostérieur pour utiliser les reflets de la
pièce naturelset l'acoustique pour créer l'effet de profondeur et
leréalisme supplémentaire.
CANAUX AVANT
La position des enceintes avants et très importante pourla perform-
ance de vôtre système. Idéalement lesenceintes avants devraient
avoir les haut-parleurs aigusà la même hauteur et au niveau de la
position d’écoute.Si cela n’´st pas possible mettez l’enceinte cen-
trale endessous ou sur le téléviseur avec les enceintes avantsde
chaque côté du téléviseurs.
CANAUX AMBIOPHONIQUES
Les enceintes d’ambiophonie peuvent être de type deplancher où
de type d’étagère. Les enceintes de typeétagère devraient être
placés sur des supports ou unetablette à la hauteur appropriée. Les
enceintes peuventêtre dirigés vers la position d’écoute pour un son
plusdirecte ou si un son plus enveloppant est préféré lesenceintes
peuvent être dirigés vers l’avant de la salle.
SOUS-GRAVE
Un sous-grave amplifié augmentera considérablementles basses
fréquences de vôtre système stéréo ou cinéma-maison. Les pistes
numeriques de hautequalité enformat CD ou DVD sont plus diffi-
ciles à reproduire quejamais. En ajoutant un sous-grave amplifié la
performancede vôtre système sera accentué dans le régistregrave.
Vôtre detaillant autorisé pourra vous aider àsélectionner un sous-
grave Soundstage qui sera biens’intégré à vôtre système
audio/vidéo.
HOME-THEATER
Today’s home theater systems typically comprise of front loudspeak-
ers side and/or rear loudspeakers a center channel loudspeaker and
a powered subwoofer. Building your system with loudspeakers of the
same brand produces the best performance as the tonal characteris-
tics will remain the same throughout your surround system.
3DX EFFECT
To maximize the incredible three dimensional effect created by the
tower speakers position them a minimum of 6 inches from the rear
wall. This allows the rear driver to use the room’s natural reflections
and acoustics to create the effect of added depth and realism.
FRONT CHANNELS
Placement of your front loudspeakers is critical to the performance of
your system. The 3 front loudspeakers should ideally be placed with
the tweeters at the same height and the same distance from the
main listening position. If this is not possible place the centre chan-
nel on top of or just below the television with the front left and
front right loudspeakers on either side of the TV monitor.
REAR CHANNELS
Rear channel loudspeakers can be either floor standing or smaller
bookshelf type loudspeakers. Bookshelf loudspeakers should be
placed on stands or on a shelf to maximize their performance. Aim-
ing the loudspeakers to the listening position or aiming them away
from the listening position will provide different sound fields (direct
or diffused) based on your preference.
POWERED SUBWOOFER
A powered subwoofer will reinforce the lower frequencies in any sys-
tem and will also greatly enhance your stereo and home-theatre lis-
tening experience. Today’s media such as CD’s DVD’s and other
high quality music and movie software feature low frequency sounds
that are difficult for most loudspeakers to reproduce. Adding a pow-
ered subwoofer will greatly improve the overall systems frequency
response because it is designed to play the frequencies that your
main loudspeakers cannot play efficiently. Your authorized Sound-
stage dealer can assist you in choosing the subwoofer that is right
for you.

PERFORMANCE OPTIONS FOR
THE STAGE 3D5
BEFORE ANY CONNECTIONS ARE MADE,
PLEASE ENSURE THAT ALL EQUIPMENT IN THE
SYSTEM IS TURNED OFF.
Loudspeaker wire throughout the system should be good quality loud-
speaker grade audio cable with polarity coding. For loudspeaker wire
that runs less than 25 feet the cable should be a minimum of 18 AWG
for loudspeaker wire that runs up to 50 feet the cable should be 16
AWG and for loudspeaker wire that runs longer than 50 feet the cable
should be at least 14 AWG.
You’ll need to remove about a centimeter or just under half an inch of
the insulation around the speaker wire so the copper which carries the
signal is exposed. For all connections to be mentioned be sure to re-
spect the polarity of the wire for the best performance. Often the posi-
tive lead of a loudspeaker wire or receiver output is red or marked with
a (+) and the negative lead is black or marked with a (-). Make sure it
the connections are consistent in back of the speaker and receiver.

Les fils à haut-parleurs devraient être de bonne qualité avec un
codage de polarité sur le cable. Pour les longueurs de cable de moins
de 7.6m le cable devrait être d’au moins de calibre 18 AWG. Pour les
longueurs jusqu’a 15.3m le cable devrait être d’au moins de calibre 16
AWG et pour 15.3m et plus le cablage devrait être d’au moins de
calibre 14 AWG.
Vous aurez besoin d’enlever environ un centimètre ou un peu moins
qu’un demi-pouce de l'isolation autour du fil de haut-parleur pour que
le cuivre qui transporte le signal est exposée. Pour toutes les connex-
ions à mentionner assurez-vous de respecter la polarité du fil pour la
meilleure performance. Souvent le fil positif d'une sortie de câble ou
du récepteur haut-parleur est rouge ou marqué d'un “+” et le fil né-
gatif est noir ou marqué avec un “-” . Assurez-vous qu'il les connex-
ions sont conformes à l'arrière de l'enceinte et le récepteur.

flexibility to determine which works best for your system and most
importantly which you like best.

For those who may want classic traditional forward firing speak-
ers disconnect the jumpers and connect the output from the re-
ceiver to the bottom set of binding posts. Only the ront drivers
will be activated.

CONNECTING THE 3D5 LOUDSPEAKER / CONNECTIONS DES ENCEINTES 3D5
The following three different options are controlled by the manner in which the speakers are connected. /

Easily the most spacious room-filling speaker dispersion this ef-
fect engages the proprietary Soundstage 3DX module to work in
tandem with the front driver array to create a lifelike 3D effect.
You see the world in 3D you should hear it that way too! Simply
securely connect your speaker wire to the lower set of left and
right binding posts. Make sure the jumpers are irmly in place
connecting the top and bottom binding posts.

ADDITIONAL CHANNELS OPTION / OPTION DES CANAUX SUPPLÉMENTAIRES
If your surround receiver is equipped with an effect that requires
some type of additional speakers then this mode can provide
additional discrete channels. Remove the jumpers. Connect the
main left and right channel outputs from the receiver to the
lower set of binding posts and the speaker’s front drivers will
play this signal. Connect the surround effect channels from the
receiver to the top set of binding posts and the 3DX Module will
play this signal.

LISTENING TEST
To ensure that all connections have been made correctly turn on your
system and begin playback of material you are familiar with. Start off
by listening at a low volume then slowly raise the volume to a com-
fortable listening level. A proper stereo image should be present. If
the loudspeakers do not produce a solid stereo image please verify
the wiring to ensure that the polarity of the connection is not reversed.
MAINTENANCE
Cleaning the loudspeakers should be done with a damp cloth.
Chemical cleaners should be avoided as they may damage the finish.
ESSAI D'ÉCOUTE
Pour verifier que toutes les connections ont bien été faites mettez en
fonction vôtre système et écouter un CD ou DVD avec lequel vous
êtes familier. Commencez à bas volume et augmentez jusqu’à un
niveau confortable d'écoute. Le système devrait avoir un son stéréo
équilibré. Si l’effet stéréo semble confus assurez-vous que les rac-
cords au haut-parleurs ont été correctement établis avec le récepteur.
ENTRETIEN
Pour nettoyer les enceintes utiliser un tissu humide. Les produits
chimiques devraient être évités car ils peuvent endommager le fini.
