Model SN973-MONEY
RF Cash Register-
Money Clip Transmitter
Installation Instr ctions
The SpreadNet Model SN973-MONEY Transmitter is a cash register
money clip. It is designed to operate in any cash register's ill slot
with American currency ills. When the ill is removed, the trans-
mitter will send an alarm signal to the SpreadNet Receiver.
The SN973-MONEY also has a tamper switch associated with the
attery compartment door. Opening the attery compartment door
will cause the transmitter to send a tamper alarm to the SpreadNet
Receiver.

MOUNTING LOCATION
The SN973-MONEY transmitter may e mounted in a cash register
in virtually any location. The transmitter is designed to operate within
the metal enclosure of a cash register without significantly restricting
its range. Select the location and verify reception of the RF signal.

MOUNTING PROCEDURE
The SN973-MONEY transmitter easily drops into any ill slot in the
cash register for easy installation, no permanent mounting is re-
quired.

Note: For contin ed reliability, test the SN973-MONEY at
least once per year.
To program the SN973-MONEY transmitter, refer to the SN900-
PROG Programming Manual (P/N 5-051-136-00).
BATTERY ACTIVATION
The final step prior to programming and testing the transmitter is
to activate the atteries. This is accomplished y removing the
Battery Ta . See Figure 1 for location of the Ta .

BATTERY REPLACEMENT
Batteries should e replaced following a low attery indication or
every five years, whichever occurs first. When replacing atteries,
use only C & K model num er SN31L-BAT or SAFT model num ers
LS3, LS14250.
IMPORTANT: After replacing the atteries, slide attery cover door
into place as shown in Figure 3.

INSERTING CURRENCY
Slide a single currency ill under the retainer clip until the ill rests
against the rear stop pins. (Tip: press down gently on the rear stop
pins to allow the ill to slide over the alarm actuators.)

Transmitter Device ID
After the SN973-MONEY has een programmed and tested, fill out the
Transmitter Device ID La el (included in the installation package) and
mount the la el on top of the transmitter, near the clip.
A sample of a completed Transmitter Device ID La el is shown elow:

* For systems using the SN912/SN913, this value must e 1. If additional devices
are installed on the same zone, only one device will e supervised. Also, systems
having more than one device per zone cannot determine which device generated
the alarm, low attery, or supervisory failure.

not installed and used in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions, they may
cause interference to radio and television reception. The SN973-MONEY Transmitter

Intentional Spread Spectrum Radiators.
If this equipment causes interference to radio or television reception - which can e
determined y turning the equipment on and off - the installer is encouraged to correct
the interference y one or more of the following measures: 1) Reorient the antenna of
the radio/television. 2) Connect the AC transformer to a different outlet so the control
panel and radio/television are on different ranch circuits. 3) Relocate the control panel
with respect to the radio/television.
If necessary, the installer should consult an experienced radio/television technician for
additional suggestions, or send for the "Interference Hand ook" prepared y the

CAUTION: C & K does not support field changes or modifications to any of the
SpreadNet RF equipment unless they are specifically covered in this manual. All
adjustments must e made at the factory under the specific guidelines set forth in our
manufacturing processes. Any modification to the equipment could void the user's
authority to operate the equipment and render the equipment in violation of FCC Part
15, Su part C, 15.247.
