Please read this entire manual before using this device, paying extra attention to these
safety warnings and guidelines. Please keep this manual in a safe place for future reference.
•This device is intended for indoor use only.
•Do not expose this device to water or moisture of any kind. Do not place drinks or
other containers with moisture on or near the device. If moisture does get in or on
the device, immediately unplug it from the power source and allow it to fully dry
before reapplying power.
•Do not touch the device, the power cord, or any other connected cables with wet
hands.
•Do not expose this device to excessive vibration.
•Do not subject the product to extreme force, shock, or fluctuations in temperature
or humidity.
•Do not expose this device to excessively high temperatures. Do not place it in, on,
or near a heat source, such as a fireplace, stove, radiator, etc. Do not leave it in

•Clean using a soft, dry cloth only. Do not use chemical cleaners, solvents, or
detergents. For stubborn deposits, moisten the cloth with warm water.
•This device has no user serviceable parts. Do not attempt to open, service, or

SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
If using this keyboard with a computer, ensure that the computer has the following
minimum capabilities. Note that USB hubs are not supported.
Windows®
•Pentium® 800 MHz or higher (CPU requirement may be higher for laptops)
•256MB RAM
•DirectX® 9.0b or later
•Windows® XP (SP2) or later
Mac® OS X®
•Mac G3 800 MHz or G4 733 MHz or higher (G3/G4 accelerator cards not supported)
•OS X 10.3.9 with 256MB RAM or OS X 10.4.2 or later with 512MB RAM

PRODUCT OVERVIEW
1. CC MODE: Press the CC MODE button to activate CC Mode, which causes the 25
piano keys to send Control Change messages instead of Note messages.
2. BANK: Press the BANK button to turn Bank Mode on or off. When Bank Mode is on,
use the ◄and ►buttons to switch the active bank. There are four banks, which
can have different sets of parameters for the controllers. One of the four LEDS
beneath the buttons illuminates to indicate the active bank.
3. PITCH DOWN: Press the PITCH DOWN button to decrease the pitch by a single cent
(1% of a semitone).
4. ◄: When in normal operating mode, press the ◄button to decrease the pitch by a
whole octave.
5. MOD: Press the MOD button to introduce a vibrato effect.
6. PROG: Press the PROG button to turn Prog Mode on or off. When Prog Mode is on,
use the ◄and ►buttons to change the current program/voice.
7. PITCH UP: Press the PITCH UP button to increase the pitch by a single cent (1% of a
semitone).

8. ►: When in normal operating mode, press the ►button to increase the pitch by a
whole octave.
9. LEDS: One of the LEDs illuminates to indicate which bank is currently selected.
10. MIDI CONTROL GROUPS: Each MIDI CONTROL GROUP is composed of a knob and a
slider, which can send Control Change messages. There are four MIDI CONTROL
GROUPS.
11. PADS: These 8 RGB backlit PADS can be assigned to send MIDI Note messages or
Control Change messages.
12. PIANO KEYS: These 25 velocity sensitive PIANO KEYS can be assigned to send MIDI
Note messages. When CC Mode is enabled, they send Control Change messages.
DETAILED SETTINGS
The Mini USB MIDI Keyboard Controller has many features and settings that cannot be
accessed using the physical controls. To control these settings, download the Mac® or
Windows® control editor from the Monoprice website.
Common Controls
•Global MIDI Ch: This setting controls which MIDI channel the keyboard will use to
transmit note messages. This should be set to the same channel as the MIDI
application you will be using.
•Piano Key CC# Ch: This setting controls which MIDI channel the keyboard will use
to transmit control messages.

•Pitch Bend Speed: This setting determines the speed of pitch bends. The range of
values is 1 ~ 4.
•Key Transpose: This setting can be used to change the pitch up or down by a
semitone. The range of values is -12 ~ +12.
•Key Velocity Curve: There are three key velocity curves (LIGHT, MEDIUM, and
HEAVY) that can be selected, as well as a CONST setting, which uses the value
specified by the Key Const Velocity setting.
•Key Const Velocity: This setting determines the constant velocity to use when the
Key Velocity Curve is set to CONST.
•Pad Velocity Curve: There are three pad velocity curves (LIGHT, MEDIUM, and
HEAVY) that can be selected, as well as a CONST setting, which uses the value
specified by the Key Const Velocity setting.
•Pad Const Velocity: This setting determines the constant velocity to use when the
Pad Velocity Curve is set to CONST.

Trigger Pads
•Assign Type: You can set the Pad to transmit Note messages or Control Change
messages. You can also select No Assign to disable the pad.
•CC/Note Number: Specifies the Note or Control Change number, depending on the
selected Assign Type. Note values are in the range C1 ~ G9, while Control Change
values are in the range 0 ~ 127.
•ON Value: Specifies the value to be transmitted when the Pad is pressed with a
range of 0 ~ 127.
•OFF Value: Specifies the value to be transmitted when the Pad is released with a
range of 0 ~ 127.
•Pad Behavior: When the behavior of the pad is set to Momentary, it will transmit
the Note On (Assign Type = Note) message or the ON Value (Assign Type = Control
Change) when the Pad is pressed and transmits the Note Off message or the OFF
Value when the pad is released. When the behavior of the Pad is set to Toggle, it

will transmit the Note On message or ON Value when the Pad is pressed and will
transmit the Note Off message or OFF Value the next time the Pad is pressed.
•MIDI Channel: This setting determines which MIDI channel will be used to transmit
the pad messages.
Knobs
The Knobs are used to send Control Change messages.
•Enable: You can Enable or Disable the selected Knob.
•CC Number: Specifies the number of the Control Change message to send with the
Knob. The range of values is 0 ~ 127.
•Upper/Right Value: Specifies the value of the Control Change message that is sent
when the Knob is fully clockwise. The range of values is 0 ~ 127.

•Lower/Left Value: Specifies the value of the Control Change message that is sent
when the Knob is fully counterclockwise. The range of values is 0 ~ 127.
Sliders
The Sliders are used to send Control Change messages.
•Enable: You can Enable or Disable the selected Slider.
•CC Number: Specifies the number of the Control Change message to send with the
Slider. The range of values is 0 ~ 127.
•Upper/Right Value: Specifies the value of the Control Change message that is sent
when the Slider is pushed fully forward. The range of values is 0 ~ 127.
•Lower/Left Value: Specifies the value of the Control Change message that is sent
when the Slider is pulled fully back. The range of values is 0 ~ 127.

Keys in CC Mode
The Keys normally send MIDI Note messages when press, but when CC Mode is enabled,
they transmit Control Change messages. This screen allows you to configure the Control
Change messages to send when the Key is pressed.
•Assign Type: Allows you to Enable or Disable the selected Key.
•CC/Note Number: Specifies the number of the Control Change message to send
when the Key is pressed. The range of values is 0~127.
•ON Value: Specifies the value of the Control Change message sent when the Key is
pressed. The range of values is 0 ~ 127
•OFF Value: Specifies the value of the Control Change message sent when the Key is
released. The range of values is 0 ~ 127
•Key Behavior: When the behavior of the Key is set to Momentary, it will transmit
the ON Value (Assign Type = Control Change) when the Key is pressed and
transmits the OFF Value when the Key is released. When the behavior of the Key is

set to Toggle, it will transmit the ON Value when the Key is pressed and will
transmit the OFF Value the next time the Key is pressed.
