Introduction
The WanderGuard BLUE Standard Bracelet
(referred to as the Bracelet) signals the
WanderGuard BLUE EX5700 Controller
when it is in field. The Controller issues an
alarm and can lock a monitored door so
that an at-risk resident wearing the bracelet
cannot leave through the door. The resident
typically wears the WanderGuard BLUE
Bracelet on the wrist like a watch. The
bracelet can also be worn on the ankle.
There are three types of bracelets: 3-Year
Bracelet (WGB-TAG-1000-3Y) which has a 3
year battery life and 90-Day Bracelet (WGB-
TAG-1000-90D) which has a 90 day battery
life. The 1-Year Bracelet (WGB-TAG-1000-1Y)
has a 1 year battery life, and transmits mes-
sages every 20 seconds when not in the
EX5700 Controller’s range.
The type is indicated on the back label.
The M/N (Model Number) is WGB-TAG-1000-
xxx, where xxx is either 3Y, 1Y, or 90D.
Bracelet Activation
The bracelet must be activated before apply-
ing it to a resident’s wrist or ankle. Once acti-
vated, a bracelet cannot be deactivated. The
bracelet is activated using the WanderGuard
BLUE Detector. For more information about
the activation process and the WanderGuard
BLUE Detector, please refer to the Wander-
Guard BLUE Deployment Guide.
Cleaning the Bracelet
Follow these recommendations for cleaning
the bracelet. WanderGuard BLUE straps are
single-use and cannot be re-attached.
• Use a mild soap and water to remove
any apparent debris.
• Disinfect bracelets by wiping with an
alcohol sanitizer or germicidal cleaner
for 60 seconds. Use only cleaners
marked as safe for plastics. Bracelets
are incompatible with disinfectants
containing Glycol Ether.
• Dry with a soft, clean cloth.
• Do not clean in an autoclave.
Bracelet Bands
There are two types of bands that can be
used with the WanderGuard BLUE Bracelet:
Simple wristband and Securaband.
The Simple wristband arrives with a single
bracelet shipment. The band has one size.
The Securaband strap provides a robust
physical barrier to unauthorized removal.
Simple Wristband
The simple wristband includes a vinyl strap
with a metal snap and comes in a package
of 10 bands (801A2701).
To apply the bracelet to a resident:
1 Slide a WanderGuard BLUE Bracelet onto
the strap.
2 Wrap the band around the resident’s
wrist or ankle.
3 Place a band hole on the metal pin leav-
ing a little space between the band and
the wrist or ankle.
4 Lock the back using the metal snap.
To remove the bracelet, cut the band with
safety scissors.
Securaband
Securaband Starter Kit
The Seuraband Starter Kit (WGB-SECUR-
STARTER) includes:
• WanderGuard BLUE Bracelet (WGB-
TAG-1000-90D or WGB-TAG-1000-3Y)
• WanderGuard BLUE sizing tool
(804A1501)
• WanderGuard BLUE straps
• WanderGuard BLUE removal tool
(WGB-SECUR-REMOV)
Applying the Bracelet
Apply the bracelet as follows:
1 To determine the strap size, wrap the
sizing tool around the resident’s wrist or
ankle, making sure that the STANLEY
Healthcare logo is facing you. The strap
size is the first number to the right of the
measuring bar (in this example, size 14).
2
NOTE: Measure carefully to ensure
that the appropriate strap size is
selected. Once the strap has been
attached, it cannot be used again.
Select the appropriate WanderGuard
BLUE strap from storage (the size is
printed on the box as well as on the inside
of the strap).
3 Slide a WanderGuard BLUE Bracelet
onto the strap, making sure that both the
bracelet’s back label with serial number
and the size stamp on the strap are
facing you.
4 Position the strap around the resident’s
wrist or ankle and insert the free end of
the strap into the clasp until it clicks
into place.
5 Discard the sizing tool (it may be recycled,
but not used again).
Removing the Bracelet
Remove the bracelet as follows:
1 Place the removal tool over the clasp,
making sure that the chevron on the
clasp and the lanyard ring on the tool are
facing in the same direction.
2 Squeeze the tool handles together to
unlock the clasp.
3 While holding the tool handles together,
pull the strap end out of the clasp.
4 Slide the bracelet o the strap, clean and
store the bracelet, and discard the strap.
