a high quality product. The in truction manual i part of the product- it contain
important information about afety, u e and di po al. Read the manual with all
u age and afety note before u ing the watch. Only u e the watch in the intended
way and for the intended application . If the watch i given to omeone el e,
include all documentation with the heart rate watch with che t belt.
Intended use
Thi heart rate monitor i intended for time di play and the de cribed additional
feature . Any other u e or modification of the heart rate monitor doe not comply
with the intended u e . The manufacturer i not liable for damage cau ed by
improper u e or mi u e. The device i not intended for commercial u e.

This heart rate monitor is not a medical device and should
only be used as a guide for your training.
Batteries
Keep batterie out of reach of small children. If a battery i wallowed, you mu t
eek medical attention immediately. Batterie /rechargeable batterie mu t alway
be in erted in the correct polarity. If nece ary, clean the battery and device
contact . Never attempt to recharge non-rechargeable batterie . Never hort-
circuit or attempt to open batterie . Never throw batterie into fire a they may
explode. If the device will not be u ed for an extended time period, remove the
battery and tore the device in a dry and du t-free area. Improper u e of the
battery can lead to explo ion or leakage.
If the battery leak , avoid contact with kin, eye and mucou membrane . U e
glove . If you are expo ed to battery acid, rin e the affected area with plenty of
clean water and immediately eek medical attention. Remove di charged batterie
from the device a they pre ent an increa ed ri k of leakage.
Heart rate monitor should not be in the hands of children
Thi device may be u ed by per on (including children over 8 year of age) with
reduced phy ical, en ory or mental abilitie or lack of experience and

knowledge, if they are upervi ed or in tructed regarding the afe u e of the
device and under tand the danger that may ari e. Children may not play with the
device. Cleaning and user maintenance of the device may not be performed by
children without upervi ion. Keep packaging film out of the hand of children.

Inserting the batteries into the chest belt
U e a coin to un crew the battery cover on the back ide of the che t belt and
in ert the 3V battery with the (+) ign facing up. Screw the battery compartment
cover back into the ca e.

Adju t the che t belt o that it fit nugly directly below the che t mu cle . Moi ten
the contact area with water or ECG gel (ECG gel can be purcha ed at a
pharmacy). En ure that the contact area con tantly remain in kin contact.

completely the che t belt hould till have very light ten ion pre ing it to your
che t.
High voltage power line , Train or moving vehicular traffic may interfere with the

Bicycle holder
Using the bicycle holder
The included bicycle holder can be u ed to attach the heart rate monitor to the
handlebar of a bicycle. Pre the bicycle holder onto the top of the handlebar.
Handlebar with an e pecially large diameter may require the u e of additional
force to nap on the bicycle holder. The heart rate monitor can now be attached to
the bicycle holder in the ame way that you would attach it to your wri t.
The maximum range of 60cm between the heart rate monitor and the che t belt
hould not be exceeded.
Plea e note that the pedometer feature of the heart rate monitor (di tance, peed
etc.) will not be functional while the watch i mounted on the bicycle holder.

Light
Briefly pre LIGHT to temporarily activate the light.

Pre MODE to elect or exit the mode of the watch. Pre SEL to enter your
per onal data and pre SET to confirm the etting.

Quick setting
Pre and hold SEL when etting numerical value to u e the quick etting feature.
Setting u the heart rate monitor watch
Remove the protective film from the di play of the watch and pre MODE, SEL or
SET. The watch will now guide you through the initial etting menu.
Pre SEL to elect the Engli h or German language (DEU/ENG) and confirm your
etting by pre ing SET. Select the unit (EINH/UNIT) of mea urement KM or mile
in the ame way. Enter your year of birth (GEB/BIRtH). Pre SEL to et the value
and pre SET to confirm the etting. Set the month and the day of your birth in the
ame way. Now elect 12 or 24-hour time di play mode (ZEIt/TIME) by pre ing
SEL and confirm your etting by pre ing SET. Now et the hour , minute and
econd . Set each value by pre ing SEL and confirm each etting by pre ing SET.
Set the year, month and day in the ame way and confirm each etting by pre ing
SET. The body weight etting now appear . Set your weight by pre ing SEL and
confirm by pre ing SET. Set your height in the ame way and confirm the etting
by pre ing SET. The pedometer calibration option appear (KALI/CALI). Pre
SEL to elect NEIN/NO or JA/YES and confirm your election by pre ing SET.
Notes on calibration:
Plea e calibrate the watch for walking and running even if you only intend to u e
the watch for walking. In thi ca e, perform a fa t walk during the calibration for
running. The calibration can al o be performed later when u ing the watch in
pedometer mode.
If the pedometer i not calibrated, it will u e the default etting and thi may cau e
the value hown on the di play during training to deviate trongly from the actual
value . During calibration, the watch will record your per onal movement profile.
Greater con i tency of movement during the recording and longer duration of the
recording will increa e the preci ion of the pedometer during training. The
calibration will allow the watch to automatically detect whether you are running or
walking and adju t the di played value automatically. The di played value are

more exact if your movement during training ha the ame rhythm and peed a
during calibration. Wear the watch on the ame wri t during calibration and
during training.
Calibration
Pre SEL to tart the recording. KALI/CALI and JA/YES will appear on the
di play. Pre SET to confirm. LAUFEN/RUN will appear on the di play. Pre SET
to how the di tance etting (DST). Pre SEL to elect the di tance and confirm
your etting by pre ing SET. Now pre SEL to tart the calibration. After you are
fini hed running the calibration di tance, pre SEL once again. ENDE/DONE or
ERROR will appear on the di play. If ERROR appear , the calibration mu t be
repeated. After ucce ful calibration, perform the calibration for GEHEN/WALK
in the ame way a for LAUFEN/RUN.
The watch has 7 modes of o eration
Pre MODE to elect the mode of operation of the watch.
The order of the mode i :
Additionally, each mode of operation ha everal sub-features.
The ub-feature can alway be reached by pre ing SEL.

Time (ZEIt/TIME)
Repeatedly pre MODE to elect time mode (ZEIt-1/TIME-1). Pre SEL to elect
the ub-feature of the time mode.
Time, day of the week and econd <-> time and date.
Pre and hold SEL to witch to the econd time zone (ZEIt 2 / TIME-2).
Time setting
Pre and hold SET. The 12/24 hour time mode indicator will appear. Select the
preferred mode and confirm your election by pre ing SET. Now et the hour ,
minute and econd by pre ing SEL to et each value and pre ing SET to
confirm each etting. Now et the year, month and day in the ame way and
confirm the etting with SET. Time zone 1 and time zone 2 may be et in the ame
way.
Alarm (ALARM)
Repeatedly pre MODE to elect alarm mode (ALARM). Pre SEL to activate or
deactivate the alarm. If the alarm i activated, the alarm ymbol will appear.
Pre and hold SET to enter etting mode. The hour of the alarm time will blink on
the di play.

Pre SEL to et the hour and confirm your etting by pre ing SET. Set the minute
in the ame way.
Pre any button when the alarm ound to top the alarm.
If no button i pre ed, the alarm will ound for about 60 econd and re tart after
5 minute .
Sto watch (St-UHR/CHRONO)
Repeatedly pre MODE to elect the top watch (ST-UHR/CHRONO).
Pre SEL to tart or top the top watch.
Pre SET while the topwatch i running to record a lap time (L01). Up to 99 lap
time (L99) can be recorded. VOLL/FULL will appear after reaching the maximum
number of lap time recording .
When the topwatch i topped, pre SET to activate the memory feature (R) and
di play the be t lap time (BESte/BEST LAP). Pre SEL repeatedly to di play the
other lap time . Pre SET to return to the topwatch.
Pre and hold SEL to re et the topwatch.
Note: The memory feature can only be u ed if at lea t one lap time ha been
recorded.

Timer (TIMER) max. 9:59:00
Fir t, pre MODE repeatedly to elect timer mode (TIMER). The pre- et time of
0:3000 econd will appear on the di play.
Pre and hold SET to et the timer.
The hour of the timer time will appear blinking on the di play. Pre SEL to et the
hour and pre SET to confirm your etting. Set the minute in the ame way. Pre
SEL to tart or top the timer. After the et time ha elap ed, an alarm will ound for
60 econd . Pre MODE, SEL or SET to top the alarm.
Pedometer (PEDO)
Fir t, pre MODE repeatedly to elect pedometer mode (PEDO). STEP will
appear on the di play along with the data that ha been tored thu far. Pre SEL
to witch between the different feature .
Step (STEP) and time > tep (STEP) and training duration (T) > tep (STEP) and
di tance (D) > tep (STEP) and peed (S) > Calorie (KCAL) and fat burn in gram
(g), tep (STEP) and heart rate (HR).
Pre SET to tart the pedometer. A ymbol howing two feet will appear on the
di play. Pre SET again to top the pedometer.
Pedometer reset
Pre and hold SET to delete all data.
Calibrating the edometer
If the pedometer ha not been calibrated a de cribed in the chapter “Setting up
the heart rate monitor watch” or if you wi h to recalibrate the pedometer, pre
and hold SET.
The body weight etting now appear . Set your weight by pre ing SEL and
confirm your etting by pre ing SET. Now et your height in the ame way and

confirm the etting by pre ing SET. The calibration option now appear
(KALI/CALI).
Pre SEL to tart the recording. KALI/CALI and JA/YES will appear on the

elect the different ub-feature .
Current heart rate / MHR (%) > current heart rate / time (TIME) > current heart
rate / current peed (km/h) > current heart rate / average heart rate (A) > current
heart rate / maximum heart rate (H) > current heart rate / lowe t heart rate (L) >
current heart rate / target zone.

Setting the heart rate target zone
ATTENTION: Con ult your phy ician before electing a
target zone. The target zone pre et are approximate
guideline and are not uitable for everyone.
While viewing the current heart rate and target zone ub-feature, pre and hold
SET to elect a pre et target zone or et the u er defined target zone (ZN-P/ZN-
U). The u er defined target zone will appear on the di play. Repeatedly pre SEL
to elect the de ired target zone: U er defined (ZN-P/ZN-U), Lei ure (ZN-1),
Fitne (ZN-2), Sport (ZN-3). The following table contain an overview of the
zone 1-3. To et the u er defined target zone pre et while di playing the u er
defined target zone (ZN-P/ZN-U) to enter etting mode. The lower limit will blink
on the di play. Set the lower limit by pre ing SEL and confirm your etting by
pre ing SET. Set the upper limit in the ame way.

Activating/deactivating the heart rate alarm
Pre SET while viewing the current heart rate and target zone ub-feature, pre
SET briefly to activate or deactivate the target heart rate alarm. If the alarm i
activated, the ymbol will appear on the di play.
Resetting the heart rate data
The heart rate data i re et daily at midnight.
Memory mode (SPEICH/MEMORY)
Fir t, pre MODE repeatedly to elect memory mode (SPEICH/MEMORY). The
data for the pa t 14 day can now be viewed. Pre SEL to acce the next
feature. The data for tep , di tance (km), calorie , fat burn (g) and odometer (G-
D t/ODO) i aved for 14 day .
Total memory (14 days)
The order of the feature i : Total Step/Total Di tance (Total Step/Total Di tance)
> Total Calorie /Total Fat Burn (Total Calorie /Total Fat Burn) > Odometer (G-
D t/ODO) > BMI (BMI)
Note:
The tored daily value for calorie , fat burn, average peed and maximum peed
are re et nightly at 0:00 but are tored in the 14-day memory.
Notes on the BMI
The BMI i a tati tical mea urement that can be u ed to judge a per on weight.
For adult , a value between 18.5 and 25 i con idered normal. Value below
18.5 are con idered "underweight". Value above 25 are con idered
"overweight". Value above 30 are con idered "Obe e". The BMI i only a coar e
guideline becau e it doe not take a per on body type and body compo ition
into con ideration.

The watch automatically calculate your BMI from the value entered during etup.
Troubleshooting
The distance measurements are very imprecise
The watch u e the tep length mea ured during calibration to e timate the
traveled di tance. Recalibrate the tep counter. Calibrate it for walking and for
running and u e extra care during the calibration.
Running on uneven urface may al o re ult in bad calibration.
The heart rate is not shown or is shown incorrectly
Make ure the che t belt i po itioned correctly and fit well.
Your kin hould not be too dry or too cold.
The contact area can be lightly moi tened to improve function.
Electromagnetic interference may have an adver e effect on reception.
The di tance between watch and che t belt mu t be under 60cm.
Other heart rate mea uring device within a 2m range may al o cau e
interference. Wirele bicycle computer may cau e interference.
The batterie may be low and require replacing.
The display is unreadable / the light does not work
Replace the batterie
Reset
Pre SET and SEL imultaneou ly to totally re et the watch. All tored data will be
lo t. Thi i the only way to change language and the unit of mea urement. Set up
the watch a de cribed in the chapter “Setting up the heart rate monitor watch”.
Re lacing the watch battery
The battery replacement can be performed by a watch maker in addition to a
water re i tance te t. To replace the battery your elf, plea e read the following
in truction fir t:
Remove the crew (1, 2, 3 and 4) from the back ide of the watch with a mall
Phillip crewdriver. Remove the ca eback and the battery ticker. U e a mall, flat
tool to open the latch (5) of the battery holder. Remove the battery and in ert a
fre h 3V CR2032 battery with the (+) terminal facing upward . En ure that the

ga ket (6) i eated correctly. Clo e the latch of the battery holder. Replace the
battery ticker and the ca eback and replace the crew .
Battery low indicator
If the battery voltage on the che t belt battery drop below the voltage required for
normal operation, (GURT/BELT) and (BAT/BATT) will appear on the di play.
Replace the battery of the che t belt a de cribed in the chapter "Che t belt".
Water resistance
Water re i tant up to 3 bar. The bar value pecifie the atmo pheric overpre ure
which i applied during te ting (DIN 8310).
Water resistance of the chest belt
Water-re i tant according to IEC 60529 IPX7.
Cleaning instructions
Clean the heart rate monitor with a oft, dry and lint-free cloth. A gla e cleaning
cloth i ideal.

After each u e, clean the che t belt and the watch trap u ing lukewarm water,
mild oap olution and a ponge. Plea e take care not to get the watch wet.
Dry all part with a towel and hang the che t belt to dry. Sweat and contaminant
are detrimental to the function of the en or.
Dis osal of the electronic a liance
Thi heart rate monitor may not be di po ed of with normal hou ehold
wa te. Di po e of the unit at an approved di po al facility or at your local
recycling centre. Plea e ob erve the current rule and regulation when di po ing
of the appliance. Contact the di po al y tem if in doubt.
Dis osal of the batteries
Plea e di po e of your batterie properly in container e pecially et up
at retailer . Batterie do not belong in hou ehold wa te. Di po e of the
batterie at an approved di po al facility or at your local recycling centre. Contact
the di po al y tem if in doubt.

Thi heart rate monitor include a 3 year warranty tarting on the day of purcha e.
In ca e of defect of thi heart rate monitor you have, by law, certain right
regarding the vendor of the watch. The e right are not changed by the warranty
which i de cribed in the following paragraph .
Warranty conditions
The warranty duration tart on the date of purcha e. Plea e keep the original
receipt in a afe place. The receipt i needed a a proof of purcha e. If a defect
occur in the heart rate monitor within 3 year , the heart rate monitor will be
repaired or replaced (according to our choice) free of charge. Thi warranty
require that, within the 3 year warranty period, the watch and the receipt can be
made available to u along with a hort written de cription of the defect and when
it occured. If the defect i covered by the warranty, you will receive the repaired
heart rate monitor or a new heart rate monitor. Repair or replacement doe not
cau e the warranty period to re tart.
