1. Read the“General Safety”section, page 3of thismanualfirst and
thentheentiremanualcarefully. Ifyoudon’tfollowthe safety rules,
thewater heaterwill notoperate properly. Itcould causeDEATH,
SERIOUSBODILYINJURYAND/ORPROPERTYDAMAGE.
Thismanual contains instructions for the installation, operation, and
maintenanceof thegas-firedwaterheater. Italso containswarnings
throughout the manual that you must read and be aware of. All
warningsand all instructionsareessential tothe properoperation
ofthe water heater and your safety. Since wecannotputeverything
on the first few pages, READ THE ENTIRE MANUAL BEFORE
ATTEMPTINGTOINSTALLOROPERATETHEWATERHEATER.
2. The installationmust conformwith theseinstructions andthe local
code authority having jurisdiction. In the absence of local codes,
installations shall comply with the National Fuel Gas Code ANSI
Z223.1/NFPA54. This publication is available from the Canadian
