Before using your new Electronic insect killer, please read
this instruction manual to prevent any damage. Put it away
Before using your new Serial PIC microcontroller programmer, read
the following recommendations.
IMPORTANT
Do not place the programmer over metallic surfaces.
Do not put metallic objects on the programmer.
Before to plug or unplug a PIC from the base, you must to disconnect
the serial port from the computer.
For circuits with 28 and 40 leads, it is necessary to buy PIC-505
Extension.
ICPROG SOFTWARE INSTALL ON XP
1.- Place the installation disk on the CD-ROM drive.
2.- Copy the ICPROG folder to PC hard drive.
3.- Execute ICPROG program, during installation is possible that an error
message appears on screen, press Accept to continue.
4.- Once the installation nish and the program executes, open the
Settings Menu, then choose Option menu. Press on Misc eyelash and
choose Enable NT/2000/XP Driver option, the program will ask if you want
to restart the ICPROG program, click on Yes. It is possible that the system
will ask you again about Driver Installation, press Yes once again. Once
the program restarted, you’ll be ready to use the ICPROG software on the
computer.
PROGRAMMING A PIC
The programming board counts with a jumper that allows you to choose
between PIC12C508 and PIC16F84, set this on the correct position.
1.- Plug the DB9 cable (male-female connectors) to an available serial port
on the computer. Plug the other end into the programmer board. (Position
1 and 2 for PIC 12C508. Position 2 and 3 for PIC 1F84).
2.- Once you have connected the cable to the board, insert the integrated
circuit on the correspondent IC socket (8 or 18 leads).
3.- Execute ICPROG program.
4.- Congure the port that you want to use.
5.- Congure the operating mode depending of the PIC.
6.- Load your program and set depending of the PIC or the memory.
7.- Go to Command menu and choose Program All, or press F5 button,
the program will ask you if you really want to program the device, with the
selected conguration (Fig. 5).
8.- If the programming was successful, then a conrmation message
appears on screen, otherwise some error messages appears after each
bar graph. This means where’s the mistake.
9.- Release the programmed PIC or circuit from the board.
For PIC12C508 place on the top of the board with 18 leads, next to
the base mark. Usually, place the jumper on PIC16F84 (2-3) position
for any application. Place on PIC12C508 (1-2) position exclusively for
this microcontroller model.

WARRANTY
This Steren product is warranted under normal usage against defects in
workmanship and materials to the original purchaser for one year from the
date of purchase.
CONDITIONS
1.- This warranty card with all the required information, invoice or
purchase ticket, product box or package, and product, must be
presented when warranty service is required.
2.- If the product stills on the warranty time, the company will repair it free
of charge.
3.- The repairing time will not exceed 30 natural days, from the day the
claim was received.
4.- Steren sell parts, components, consumables and accessories to
customer, as well as warranty service, at any of the addresses mentioned
later.
THIS WARRANTY IS VOID IN THE NEXT CASES:
If the product has been damaged by an accident, acts of God,
mishandling, leaky batteries, failure to follow enclosed instructions,
improper repair by unauthorized personnel, improper safe keeping,
among others.
a) The consumer can also claim the warranty service in the purchase
establishment.
b) If you lose the warranty card, we can reissue it, if you show the invoice
or purchase ticket.

Antes de utilizar su nuevo Módulo programador de PICs lea las
siguientes recomendaciones.
IMPORTANTE
No coloque la tarjeta programadora sobre supercies metálicas.
No coloque objetos metálicos sobre la tarjeta.
Antes de conectar o retirar un PIC de la base debe desconectar el
puerto serial de la computadora.
Para circuitos de 28 y 40 terminales, es necesario adquirir la
Expansión PIC-505.
INSTALACIÓN DEL PROGRAMA ICPROG EN XP
1.- Coloque el disco de instalación en la unidad de CD-ROM de su PC.
2.- Copie la carpeta ICPROG al disco duro de su PC.
3.- Ejecute el programa ICPROG, durante la instalación es posible que
aparezca un mensaje de error, presione Aceptar para continuar.
4.- Una vez que ha terminado la instalación y se ejecuta el programa, abra
el menú Settings, y seleccione el menú de Options. Presione sobre la
opción MISC, y seleccione Enable NT/2000/XP Driver, el sistema abrirá
un mensaje preguntando si desea reiniciar el programa ICPROG,
seleccione Yes. Es posible que el sistema vuelva a realizar una pregunta
acerca de la instalación del driver del programa, presione nuevamente
Yes. Una vez que el programa haya reiniciado, podrá comenzar a utilizar
el programa ICPROG en su computadora.
GRABACIÓN DE UN PIC
La tablilla programadora cuenta con un interruptor que permite
seleccionar entre PIC12C508 y PIC16F84, colóquelo en la posición
correspondiente (Posición 1 y 2 para PIC 12C508. Posición 2 y 3 para PIC
1F84).
1.- Conecte el cable con conectores DB9 hembra - macho al puerto serial
de su PC y a la tablilla programadora.
2.- Una vez conectado el cable a la tablilla, inserte el circuito en la base
correspondiente (8 o 18 pines).
3.- Ejecute el programa ICPROG.EXE
4.- Congure el puerto de uso.
5.- Ajuste el modo de operar del PIC.
6.- Cargue su programa y ajuste la conguración del PIC o Memoria.
7.- Abra el menú Command y seleccione Program All u oprima la tecla F5,
el programa le preguntará si está seguro de programar el dispositivo de
acuerdo a la conguración seleccionada (Fig. 5).
8.- Si la grabación fue exitosa aparecerá en pantalla un mensaje de
conrmación, en caso contrario aparecen mensajes de error después de
cada gráca de barras, indicando en qué operación se produjo el error.
9.- Retire su PIC o circuito programado de la tarjeta.
Para el PIC12C508, coloque este en la parte superior de la base de 18
pines, es decir junto a la muesca o marca de la base.
Normalmente coloque el jumper en la posición de PIC16F84 (2-3)
para cualquier aplicación. Coloque en la posición de PIC12C508 (1-2)
exclusivamente para este modelo de microcontrolador.

PÓLIZA DE GARANTÍA
Esta póliza garantiza el producto por el término de un año en todas
sus partes y mano de obra, contra cualquier defecto de fabricación y
funcionamiento, a partir de la fecha de entrega.
CONDICIONES
1.- Para hacer efectiva la garantía, presente ésta póliza y el producto, en
donde fue adquirido o en Electrónica Steren S.A. de C.V.
2.- Electrónica Steren S.A de C.V. se compromete a reparar el producto
en caso de estar defectuoso sin ningún cargo al consumidor. Los gastos
de transportación serán cubiertos por el proveedor.
3.- El tiempo de reparación en ningún caso será mayor a 30 días,
contados a partir de la recepción del producto en cualquiera de los sitios
donde pueda hacerse efectiva la garantía.
4.- El lugar donde puede adquirir partes, componentes, consumibles y
accesorios, así como hacer válida esta garantía es en cualquiera de las
direcciones mencionadas posteriormente.
ESTA PÓLIZA NO SE HARA EFECTIVA EN LOS SIGUIENTES CASOS:
1.- Cuando el producto ha sido utilizado en condiciones distintas a las
normales.
2.- Cuando el producto no ha sido operado de acuerdo con el instructivo
de uso.
3.- Cuando el producto ha sido alterado o reparado por personal no
autorizado por Electrónica Steren S.A. de C.V.
El consumidor podrá solicitar que se haga efectiva la garantía ante la
propia casa comercial donde adquirió el producto. Si la presente garantía
se extraviara, el consumidor puede recurrir a su proveedor para que le
expida otra póliza de garantía, previa presentación de la nota de compra
o factura respectiva.
