Using the IP 210 Phone
1. Physical Phone:
a. Phone Ports:
i. Handset: indicated by the picture next to the port, on the
back of the phone.
ii. PC Port: This port is used to connect a PC to the network,
on back of phone.
iii. LAN Port: This port is used to connect the IP phone to the
network. The IP 100 phone uses a special cable with a
power adapter port. The power adapter port plugs in
closest to the network outlet.
b. Description of Keys:
i. Message Indicator Light: Red when have unheard message(s)
and flashes when you have unheard voicemail, or for
incoming calls.
ii. Microphone: located below hold button – on bottom of phone
base, keep phone on hard surface and free of paper, to
ensure good voice quality.
iii. Speaker button: top blue button next to handset; allows the
phone call to be carried over the speaker beneath handset.
iv. Mute button: middle red button, below speaker button;
allows you to hear the caller, but they can not hear you.
v. Volume: Adjusts ringing volume and listening volume for the
handset, headset, or speaker phone.
vi. LCD Panel: information center; gives you status of phone
and step by step instructions.

vii. Dial Pad: 10 keys, including “*” and “#”.
viii. Hold: hard hold – indefinite hold
ix. Function Keys: transfer, conference, voice mail, and hold.
c. Basic Trouble Shooting:
i. If the date or time are incorrect or the LCD screen is
blank, Check all cord connections to the phone and the
wall, and make sure they are plugged in correctly.
2. Basic Functions:
a. How to make / answer calls:
i. To dial another extension, simply key in the direct
extension. No prefix is required.
ii. To dial outside the phone system, you must dial “9” first.
For long distance calls you will need to dial “9” + “1” +
the area code and phone number.
b. Call Management:
i. Hold: puts current caller on hold. First caller
automatically put on hold when depressing line 2 (without
pressing the “hold” button) and the same for the following
calls. When placing a caller on hold indefinitely (without
a second caller on line 2), to return to the caller,
depress call line once. Do not hit call line twice because
it will hang up on the caller.
ii. Transfer: capability to transfer a call to another
extension or externally. To transfer externally, must dial
“9”.
iii. Conference: capable of talking to two additional callers
simultaneously.

c. Voice Mail:
i. Accessing the Voice Mail system for the first time:
1. From your IP phone, press the “Voice Mail” function
key.
2. Enter the default password of “1234” + “#”.
3. You will be prompted to record your name, and please
do so.
4. Please change your password from the default of
“1234”.
5. To record your greeting, press 7, then press option
1, and follow prompts.
ii. Accessing the Voice Mail system:
1. From an IP phone: press the “Voice Mail” function
key or depress “#”. Follow prompts for entering your
extension (if required) and password.
2. From a non-IP phone: To access the voice mail
system, you may dial your main company auto
attendant. Press “#”, enter your extension, and then
enter your password, followed by “#”.

phone opposite end from handset).
6. Number dialed when having problem
